Greetings everyone and welcome to my #45th report as Grand Master of the Dark Brotherhood. This report will cover a multitude of topics. TLDR for those of you with attention related issues:

• A fond farewell to Valhavoc
• The announcement of a new Fist
• A recap of today's fiction update
• An update to the DJB's fictional timeline
• DJB Project Roadmap 2.0 with planning considerations for the Clans
• An insiders look at possessions

That is a lot of stuff to get to and I want to enjoy my Sunday outside helping my son become a world class striker. So here we go!

Administrative Data

1) The End of an Era: Dark Adept Valhavoc, aka Glenn aka Bearded Hotness, assumed the role of Fist over two years ago. He inherited a little bit of a mess and transitioned it into a functioning Dark Council office that exists with relatively little drama. Val worked CF balancing, introduced new platforms, and ran more competition than any other member of the Dark Brotherhood (in its history). He did all this while maintaining his good nature and remaining one of the most relaxed and capable Dark Councilors in the history of the Dark Brotherhood.

Val's success as the Fist demands our respect and it is deserving of a fond farewell in the form of the Silver Sash. For those of you who missed the update, I changed the Silver Sash's 1 x a year award policy and returned it to its former position as the second highest award in the Dark Brotherhood, taking precedence above the Diamond Sword and just below the Golden Lightsaber. This award, in its new form, is designed precisely for members of Val's stature and accomplishments. Thanks for all you have done Glenn. Award Write Up: I'm a Silver Sash Write Up.

2) A New Fist: The Search for Val's replacement took a little longer than expected, but myself and the Dark Council are confident that our new selection was worth the wait. It is with great joy that I announce the Dark Brotherhood's new Fist, Cethgus Tiberius Entar. Stu submitted a fantastic application that addressed our concerns with gaming and highlighted his designs for the future. Stu will have a period to evaluate his new staff and we should see a report from him soon.

A key point to highlight in the application process was that Stu took an incredible amount of time to research the issues at hand within gaming, took the time to research proposals submitted by Val (he even copied Val's style), and took great care to discuss issues with a wide variety of folks. If your looking for a model applicant or model application, Stu might have an example for you.

Fiction Updates

1) It was late. For that I apologize. But hell, it was a doozy. For those of you reading this report and haven't read the fiction, you can catch the TLDR right here. If you don't want to see the TLDR, don't look below:

1. Epilogue: Val files his final report and highlights the evolution of the Dark Brotherhood over the past two years. Loyalists, Mercenaries, Inquisitors, genocide, and the eradication of the Jedi. It's like Sithmas.
2. V'yr is on the run.
3. Probably because she was tortured in this flashback.
4. The Invasion of New Tython has begun.
5. The Grand Master gives crazy new meaning.
6. Farewell to our Undesirable and beloved Solari.
7. New Tython is razed.
8. Clan Odan Urr looks forward to the future and towards Resistance.

That is a lot to digest and I recommend you take the time to at least skim through the fiction. I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank the leadership of Odan Urr for sitting down with me and having a discussion about the upcoming plotlines and GJW. We started with a pretty simple question: would a Grand Master that hates his own people allow a Jedi planet to exist within his domain? The answer, and we all agreed, was no. So, Odan Urr will be moving to new (and hidden) digs. More to come :p

2) That Pesky Timeline: Slagar, Jac, and I have gone over the DJB timeline and tweaked it to place the Dark Jedi Brotherhood squarely in the year 34 ABY, or for those of you not up on your nerdery, immediately following the events of Episode VII. You'll catch Val commenting on the destruction of the Hosnian system in the fiction update and our timeline now supports that.

So how did we do it? To be honest it wasn't hard. Early DJB fiction is not exactly fleshed out because we had more important things to do in JA/JO/XVT/XWA/TIE/Xwing back then. This allowed us to move a few initial DJB events around at the beginning of our history and move our timeline back roughly four years. You might also start to catch things on the wiki that replace the word "Vong" with the word "alien". :p

Featured Project: Project Road Map

The Dark Council and I sat down and discussed our priorities for the upcoming six months and revised the above graphic. As you can see, it is our singular purpose to complete possessions. Evant has taken the lead on the project (you will see some of his work below) and has herded the rest of us into the right containers to get this beast of a project completed. Thankfully Evant has some real life training on finishing projects because his powerpoint skills speak to my soul.

Outside of possessions, we will place a secondary focus on the upcoming GJW and events that lead up to it. That was kicked off today with the fiction update and will continue to fiction update #2 Resistance and the long over due meta game that will help uncover even more of the Grand Master's dastardly plans for Tree People and sentient Cock-Roach-People.

Lastly, each of the Councilors have provided a few of their pet projects that made the sweet timeline and are indicated at the bottom of the document under staff priorities.

Featured Project: Possessions

We are trying to be the Little DC That Could. We think we can, we think we can, we think we can. Possessions is a lot of effort and the staff is working throughout the process. The four pages of planning documents you see above capture some of the things we are working on, some of the questions we still have, and some material that has been discarded altogether.

The above is a draft, but I wanted all of you to be aware of how we were approaching the problem. Each and every aspect of the possessions system requires pretty detailed planning. It also requires us to avoid project creep (sorry James) and keep the system in the realm of the possible/can be done this lifetime.

Conclusion

Alright, there is a bit of goodness in the above and some pretty big changes to the DJB that you can sink your teeth into. Unfortunately, I also have to cap this report off with a warning to the wise. Recently we had a Dark Jedi Brotherhood member engage a former club member with hostile and disgusting comments (I know, because I have screencaps). We don't know who did it, but I can assure you that if the culprit is ever determined, they will receive swift club justice.

Outside of that unpleasantness, the club is in good spirits, work is moving forward, and I look forward to what is to come. I hope you all have a great week.
