I don't have any big news to report this month, after the major changes to the fiction and gaming degrees that were implemented in April. Val's new report lays out planned changes to the Cluster of Fire, including the creation of a new Cluster of Something. This will impact the Gaming Savant and Sage degrees down the road, but we will endeavor to make any changes incorporating the new gaming medal paradigm as seamless as possible.
I've spent some time in the past few weeks reviewing the Journeyman Hall courses for out-of-date information and have made tweaks to several. The biggest changes were made to Vendetta 2: Submission, which described the old email-based vendetta submission system. The course now reflects the capabilities of the modern DJB website that we've all come to love so much, and will hopefully help point new members in the right direction for competition subscription/submission generally.
A few months ago I began sketching out changes to the SA Society rank requirements. My goal was to increase the number of members able to attain Rank 6 (considered the "graduate" rank) and make better use of Ranks 7-9. I've been tracking membership in the Society periodically since then and will be sending a proposal up to the GM and DGM soon with my recommendations. The changes aren't huge, but they should open up more SA Society accessories to more people. Look for more information soonish.
I mentioned a new Force Tactics course in my last report. Based on feedback from Shad, BF went back to the drawing board (a few times) and we hope to have a re-worked course for the next Voice to take a look at. Because of the delay with Force Tactics, my staff and I have put more effort into other pending courses. Two new Astronomy-related courses will be ready for release shortly, one of which is a revamp of the Planets and Stars course. The second course is a wholly-new "Regions" course (which, unfortunately, may be made obsolete by new canon in the future, but we'll revise as needed). A couple of other Astronomy courses are also in the works, but will come later.
Since my last report, the top five exam takers at the SA are:
Name | # of Exams |
---|---|
SBL Pel | 30 |
PRT Lourana Seaborn | 28 |
GRD Nashiro Kakos | 27 |
GRD Tasha'Vel Versea | 27 |
DIS Mishiahat | 26 |
Great work, everyone!
As always, I'd like to close this report by asking for your help. The SA is a massive wall of text that covers ever-shifting topics and is prone to typos and run-on sentences. If you spot substantive or grammatical problems, please let me, Ood, and the course PROF know so that we can fix them ASAP. As we work through the Departments during the audit, we're also going to be asking for help reading and editing -- if you have any particular expertise, let us know when we announce the next Department being audited. There are shiny things available. :P

Hey Bubba, i've sent you at least 4 emails now about assisting you guys and I was wondering if there is any turnaround for these. As you say, the help is needed and I am happy to assist in places like the new Astronomy (considering I took a degree in this), also leadership, either competitions or reports.
Regardless I'm glad to see a Sadowan up there!
Thank you for the mention. I actually have quite enjoyed a few of these exams. :)
Noice, Pel!
Lexic,
Just shot you an email.
Excellent report and of course congratulations to all the top exam takers, with special mention to my apprentice of course!
Is there a way we can retake the redesigned exams, even after reaching maximum score on the old exam? I ask because I usually get quite a few questions from our journeymen when I talk to them, and I'd like to know what they're looking at.
