Welcome to my 14th report as Herald. This one is slightly Dark Souls inspired because DS3 is a thing I play when I want life to pummel me some more :P

This time around we have several updates: a bi-monthly release, new goodies for higher ranks, some restructuring...you know the usual stuff ;D

This is what you want to see first, so I'll put it out right now. This month's theme was "Star Wars Rebels". Hopefully you like it.

We're giving away Custom robes!

Yep, you read right. Custom robes for...the person who wins the event! It's a very simple 3 comp event where you ahve to design some robes and write an Aspecta and a Venue. You recieve points depending on your position within the three comps. Overall winner wins some fancy robes. :D

UPDATE: Robes

New Wiki

First of all I would like to point you towards the Robes wiki page here. Read all the updates there.

So what's this all about?

Well, for a while now the Robes wiki page and Robes in general were a bit vague on information. We had gotten a ton of questions regarding custom robes and competitions to win them (one of which is running right now. Check bellow.) We've decided to streamline the whole Robe system to be more clear and concise.

So what's different?

In regards to selector robes, not much. Robes will still be released on a bi-monthly basis to everyone, Clans will still get robes for winning Great Jedi war vendettas and Society robes stay the same. What has changed, though, are Custom Robes. But only slightly.

Biggest change: Elders now have access to Custom robes and can access their requisition form via their Admin panel, much like sabers and Warbanners. You may start sending them in. word of caution: These are lower on our priority list than Sabers or warbanners so expect delays.

So what's different?

The Dual-Phase and Ultraviolet lightsabers have been merged into one in preparation for the upcoming Possessions releases. Now they can be requested at Elder 1.

Herald survey

Korras asks: What kind of saber blades can you use at what ranks? And will they ever show up in the saber selector? And what qualifies as a uv blade?

Journeymen 4 up to Equite 3 may use any on the blades on the Selector or request standard white-core blades of any color once they reach EQ2. At EQ3 they may request any type of blade except an Elder Saber (UV blade). Once you reach Elder 1 you may request any saber you wish, including dual-phase blades and Ultraviolet blades.

A UV blade has a black core and purple glow.

A'lora asked: #AsktheHerald will we see some of the new blaster cannons in the near future (the ones with the sustained beam, as seen in the Vader annual comic)?

That's something you'll have to ask the Voice, but I'll go with "no", at least not soon. :P

Atra asks: Would it be possible for more step by step gfx creation guides just to show the process and the sheer work involved in all the things you do?

Hopefully we'll have a few done for the Shadow Academy, but for now we're too busy to make a dedicated tutorial.

Nero asks: #asktheherald can we get some more defined rules on what can and cannot be used as a warbanner

In broad terms, try to avoid any real life iconography, political or religious. This is a fictitious flag for a character, so it's fair to say symbols like that don't particularly belong to a warbanner. However, we'll often handle these on a case to case basis.

James asks: #asktheherald If the current Electorate (Core DC + CONs) would have to swap places for a week, what would be your ideal set-up, and how would that play out?

You want to ruin your hard work by letting me into the database? Ok :P To be honest, I'd have to think about it very hard. There are some people who can do a lot of the jobs on that list, but few that can do specialized stuff like HRLD, SCL or JST.

Look at references online. Create a picture in your head. Try and draw it on paper, however bat it may look. write the description as best you can.
