Hello everyone and welcome to the February Edition of the Hoth Aedile Report! The House Event, [Hoth] The Price of Freedom is LIVE! I won’t bore you with my rambling in this section, as there is a fiction to be read! It was pointed out to me that I used a lot of Roman influence for the names in this fiction and decided... why not? The private military company (polite term for ‘mercenaries for hire’) the Collective detachment is posing as will be called Eradicatus, which is latin for Eradicate. (It means ‘to destroy/wipe out/annihilate’.)
Not very subtle, but I needed to amuse myself somehow and it stuck.
With that out of the way, let’s get into the report!

Within a lavishly decorated office within the capitol building, Governor Pius Kopchak appeared to be in deep rumination. His elegant fingers were tented upon his desk, pale brows furrowed in silent contemplation.
Pius Kopchak was a part-Sephi who had been born and raised on Solyiat. In his schooling, he had discovered a love for debates and policy, which led the curious youth toward political activism. Nearly a decade earlier, Kopchak had been beyond honored when he was elected to his current position as Planetary Governor of his home planet.
Despite the maturity assumed by his silver-blonde hair, the part-Sephi was only in his early forties; barely into adulthood, by Sephi standards. It was a natural shade he had inherited from his mother, who was half-Human. His pale lavender irises, however, were the exact duplicate of his father.
Rather than the serene calm that his father’s once held, Pius’ burned with barely suppressed rage.
Where at first, Kopchak had been honored to be the Governor, it had taken several years until he realized he was nothing more than a figurehead. Anything larger than planning the annual gala required multiple steps of approval above his station. Governor or not, Pius was not born to one of the noble houses and thus lacked the sway to have the power he yearned.
The seeds had taken root within his mind, but it was not until more recently that the Governor became resolute in this plot.
Empress Kaltani Anasaye had completely ignored courtesy when Odan-Urr sought refuge after their former planet was destroyed. It was not until months after the decision had been made, plots of land and an abandoned mine were signed over to the Joint Task Force Hoth, that Kopchak learned of the occurrence. When the Governor finally sent through a polite request for more information, especially with a group of unknowns on his planet, he received a dismissive reply.
These Jedi did not answer to him, only their own Council and the Vatali Empress herself.
As far as the Governor was concerned, the Jedi themselves were a threat. Their soldiers and hired mercenaries were viewed as possible allies, as he was sure they would not mind becoming free... or could simply be bought for the right price.
Kopchak wanted the power to make decisions for himself, with Solyiat as its own nation. An independent nation. The first steps had been to seek out like-minded individuals within the political landscape and convince them that the plan would work. The next had been easy, compared to convincing politicians and business owners that treason was a good idea; building up a small force of Quorahi, stationing them in the desert continent and arming them.
Even still, the Governor knew this would not be enough to achieve independence of Solyiat. His Quorahi could be wiped out by a small team of Jedi from Hoth, if the holorecords of the Clone Wars were to be believed.
The news of a Private Military Company—called Eradicatus—gave Kopchak hope for his vision.
