Fiction - The Rise of Bahamut

Just having finished a meeting with a Sephi liaison officer, Edgar stumbled out of his office. He was dead on his feet, working so many long hours with little sleep was taking it’s toll on his mental state and his body. His intent was to get a strong cup of coffee and get back to directing the men on getting Hoth’s new base secured and operational as quickly as possible. He was quickly overcome with a stream of more visitors bringing more complaints, questions and problems for him to deal with.

Something inside him snapped as he roared, “WOULD YOU ALL JUST GET OUT OF MY FACE AND LEAVE ME ALONE!” Edgar felt the anger surge within him, and without realizing it he had his unlit saber in his hand and was standing in such a threatening manner that it didn’t take long for the hallway to clear. After a few moments, Edgar shook himself to reality and realized that he was beginning to lose his composure and his balance.

He had been on the move ever since the first bombs dropped on New Tython, then it was Florrum and then the long tiring search for a new home. Then, of course, being left to run the house by himself and the arrival of a new liaison from the Clan’s military had put him on such tight strings that he felt like he was about to lose control.

“I just can’t do this anymore.” Edgar realized to himself that he could not remain in this cold desolate place a second longer.

Introduction - Building a new Future

Welcome to latest House Hoth Aedile report, it’s been a while since I have done a solo report and now working with Arcia you should see reporting on a regular schedule. We have spent the last month polishing the Planet and getting it approved for your enjoyment. Now we are focusing on comps, storylines and of course you the members.

So to start that off I’d first like to welcome the recent transfers and returning members that joined House Hoth in the past few months: Christopher “Nero” Winchester, Lavanth and Jo Mizu welcome to House Hoth!

Next on the list you can see by my fiction House Hoth has offically landed and has begun to set up shop in the Trepus Mine on Solyiat. So as referenced in the fiction and in actuality there is so much left to do in fleshing out not only our planet but the entire Kiast System as a whole.

The first step towards that goal comes with the the ongoing Clan Event: Homecoming in which will run from now till the end of the month. The scope and design of the comps is to allow you the ability to help build the Clan’s new future within the Kiast System. I know a lot of you have some great ideas so I do hope to see a lot of entries from Hoth. Remember winning entries become Clan CANNON!

At the house level, we released our new planet to the world and many of you have mentioned that you can’t wait to start getting to work on certain aspects of the planet. Arcia and I have already greenlit some projects that we hope to reveal to you in future reports, but we have plenty more projects to hand out as well.

Also we recently created a dedicated House Hoth Telegram Channel in which all members of the house can mingle and interact with both Arcia and myself. So any member of Hoth wanting to join can either ask us for a invite or follow this [-> LINK <- - Log in to view join link]

If you are good at wiki pages, graphics (i.e. map design, locations, people), or just wanting to write a backstory for a person or place on our world please email Arcia and I with you idea and/or your skill set and we can give you all the information we can to help you finish your task. NOTE: if your willing to create a wiki page for us you can also submit it to the Clan Event Comp - [Homecoming] Scouting the System (Wiki) as well.

As the clan event progresses Arcia and I will be working on creating our first House Event which will continue the theme of world building and start to introduce our new direction and focus. So stay tuned for good things are happening!

This always seems to be a popular way to probe the mind of the House and so let see the top questions asked:

• Morgan Sorenn asked - Edgar, where do you see the House as it is now vs when you were a member/newly baked AED? What improvements have been made?

First of all I can’t believe that I have Hoth’s Aedile for over 7 months already. Time does fly by for sure, but to answer your question, I personally don’t think it’s the same House at all. With everything that the Clan/House has gone through (Losing NT and being in a Feud) the last 7 months have been a challenging to say the least. Then again we are so much better off now then when i first took the job. With major improvements in member and leadership activity, soliciting ideas from the members has changed the House for the better. With everyone having a concentrated effort to focus on creating something together makes being in House Hoth so much more fun these days!

• Jo Mizu asked - How do you like Gray Jedi?

Well Jo I find being a Grey Jedi to be very freeing and it allows me to be more fluid with Edgar when I tell a story. I’m not dictated but a rigid “Jedi code” or the unwavering evil of the Sith. I can mold Edgar to the events and situations at hand and let the emotions flow naturally. So in other words I love being free to be myself and I do love being a Grey Jedi.

• Morgan Sorenn further asks.- How have you two been working together so far? Are you satisfied with your synergy and do your ideas generally match?

From my perspective Esca and I are working great together. We clicked almost instantly and fictionally it seems we are at odds and divided but that’s all by our design from Day 1. Our story will unfold over the summer and it will be fun to see it progress.

Behind the scenes though we are extremely unified and working to make Hoth the best House in COU! Our synergy is working perfectly so far in my opinion and it’s the times where we don’t agree or have different ideas that how well we work together shows. We calmly listen to each other, discuss the conflicting viewpoints and then we pick the best option for the House. Our egos never play a part. So yes we agree a lot but when we don’t we spend the time working it out together for the betterment of Hoth.

• Mana Asked - Where do you see Hoth being in six month? What path do you see them following fictionally if they existed in a vacuum?

In six months if all goes well I’d hope to have a couple of House/BT events under our belt. So we should have advanced our story pretty far down the line. I’d hope by then we are fully established on Solyiat and have already completed our first Offworld event by then.

In the short term we must build out the planet and fleet to the point where we can start exploring the Galaxy and taking the fight to the enemy. Once that’s done Hoth and KoA will be running on all cylinders.

As for the path .. well Esca and I have discussed this a few times and we would love to let you guys set the House Path for yourself. We will give you a framework but it’s you that will decide things. For example - is the group we start working with truly the good guys or do we discover that the “enemy” is really the victims our partners aggression? You tell us.

• Lambow Asked - Further down the line once we settle in, are we going to have any House v House comps going to happen?

So you want a Hoth vs Shan event, well all I can say is this has been discussed at length between the two Summits. It is something we want to do as well and I do think it will happen maybe in about {REDACTED}. So I would keep an eye out on your email and Esca’s report at the end of {REDACTED}.

• Multiply Members asked about Possessions - This one guys all I can say is soon the GM and the Dark Council are working hard on this one and I point you to the most recent GM report - for the most up to date info. Once we have a firm and clear system in place I’m sure we will poll the House for ideas on what we buy for the House. Once we know something you will know.

In conclusion -

I want thank every member of the House who gave us suggestions for Solyiat and asked questions for the report. I love to see so many stepping up to the plate to help us build your world!

We have a lot of work ahead of us but it’s awesome to see how much life there is in Hoth these days. Keep it up!
