Introduction - Great Jedi War 12 Final results and a 2 year Look Back

Ladies and gentleman of Hoth, Clanmates and anyone else crazy enough to be reading my reports. I welcome to to a very special edition of my monthly report. December 3, 2017 marked a full 2 years since I first took a spot on Hoth’s summit. 2 years ago on that day I returned back to Hoth from a small stint in House Satele Shan and one of its finest battleteams, the Disciples of Bass.

To me Hoth as always been my home. I helped suggest and vote for the house to be name after Lord Hoth, I served as a Battleteam SGT in the Knight of Allusis and always wanted to make Hoth a very strong unit from the start. When I first became Aedile, Nathan, Tisto (or whoever the hell he is today) and I were bouncing ideas around for a new direction for the House when the unthinkable happened.

New Tython was destroyed and with it many years of lore, history and not to mention the future plans we were all creating. This was a trying time and a defining moment for not only the clan, but also House Hoth. We were finally able to shake any perceived notions about us and start anew. With the arrival of Esca taking over for Nathan, the House summit looked to you, the members, to give us the direction and more importantly the building blocks that we used to create our new home Solyiat. This world was and is still being built by every member and not just the ones sitting in the summit chamber.

Hoth arose from the ashes a stronger and more focused unit, one that I was proud to take over as Quaestor at the beginning of this year. Joining me at my side was Yuki and now Celevon who have both been awesome Aediles and great friends to me. The last 11 months as Quaestor have been nothing but quiet, we faced a few clan events, a house event, a coop event with Tal and finally the Great Jedi War.

The members of Hoth have truly surprised me at every turn, especially in finally competing in the Great Jedi War. Every single one of you make me very proud to be part of your house. I only hope that when the day come where I hand over the keys to the House and the Quaestor’s private bar, I leave the House in a better place than I found it. No, I’m not leaving this is just some good reflection. Every now and then we have to stop and take stock of our surroundings or you will never know what you truly have in front of your face.

So to all the members of House Hoth, Arch and of course Turel, thanks for believing in me and giving me the drive and the inspiration to help make Hoth great again!

Now enough about the boring stuff let's talk about the GREAT JEDI WAR XII!!

Great Jedi War XII - Clan Odan-Urr Victorious:

• GM Pravus released the Final Results in his news post last night and Odan-Urr is now the First Clan!*

Before I go into the obvious celebratory mode let me first start by giving the members of the other 6 clans a round of applause. Every member that submitted a entry should be proud that they helped their clan and the entire club by just taking part in the biggest event the club runs. Arcona and CNS most definitely didn’t make it easy on us, and for that I must tip my hat to all of you. It was an honor and a pleasure to compete against some of the powerhouses of the Club. bows

So to the members of House Hoth you all did awesome! As a House we submited to a combined 209 War competitions!!! That's right 209 submissions from all of Hoth! I can’t help but say how proud of you I am. Well it could be the cold medicine but I’m overly giddy today. Seeing the results pour in, helping the site crash by refreshing it every 5 seconds (Sorry James), or watching the emails pour in and seeing many of your names in the top 10 was awesome.

A huge congratulations must be sent to both Maximus and Aurora as well for being the 2nd and 3rd Hero, respectively, in the war. Maximus was also named Odan-Urr’s Clan Champion, a honor he earned and he has earned my respect. Great job to the both of you!

Another highly notable accomplishment was that Seraphol, Droveth and Tarvitz earned participation in all of the bins of this event! This means Hoth had a half of the 8 Odan-Urr members to accomplish this achievement during the event!

As things return to normal, the final war rewards for the First Clan will start coming in soon. Evant’s News Post stated that all Odanite members that participated in the war will recieve a Ring of Retribution, which should be availble for your loadouts soon (It’s there in your possessions tab). Also, along with us the members earning some nice credits for the war, so did the clan by the tune of 69,000,000 credits! I’m sure we will have to figure out what to do with all that money. Oh don’t forget the limited time store the Shroud Syndicate is selling some items stolen from the Collective.

Lastly, I’m sure you’ve seen the discussion about our soon to be created robes from the Herald’s office for winning the war. Feel free to shared your ideas in telegram so we can design the best robes possible to celebrate this historic occasion.

The Scimitar of Lord Hoth November results

• The updated Hoth - The Scimitar of Lord Hoth - comp and new point values listed here. So the war is over and its effect on the Scimitar race is interesting and as you can see by the YTD totals. 1st and 2nd are a mere 19 points apart, with 3rd realistically not far behind. You may think with the post war break people are taking there will not be many opportunities to catch up. As far as I know there are plenty of comps already going plus the DC will more than likely be running a event for the release of The Last Jedi. Good luck to all of you and I look forward to awarded the very first scimitar in my next report.

Also, since the Scimitar is about to be awarded it’s time to know what the sword looks like, don’t you agree? Go check out the new comp An Icy Blade to submit your design for the most coveted award in all of Hoth! Please NOTE that all valid submissions to this competition will earn the entrant a bonus of five (5) points to the Scimitar of Hoth competition.

So for November, the Scimitar of House Hoth is C’ree. In second place was Ka Tarvitz, and finally taking 3rd place this month was Daniel "Seraphol" Stephens.

Here is the thing: for the last two months we competed as one unit - Odan-Urr. There was no place for any House v House stuff during the War. It is something we at the summit level all believed in that, so to honor just a Hoth member this month would not honor that. So for this month I shall bestow our Member of the Month to the Clan Champion and second Hero of the war Maximus Alvinius and our very own Roll Mistress Aurora "Aura" Ta'var for being the 3rd hero of the war not to mention both the JA and ACC champion of the GJW!

Member Art/Commissions

I want to take a few a little space here and honor some member-created art plus and new commissions you guys have done. So, if you ever have anything you want me to highlight in my reports please get it to me before the end of the month.

Anyone wanted their War Art submissions highlighted please let me know by the end of the month i’d love to show off our good and “bad” art.

Now this month we get a special treat by seeing what your fellow members submitted during the war. So let’s see what was created:

I created the AT-PT or the All Terrain Party Transport. Feel free to write Evant to vote for this to be included into possessions!

Ka Tarvitz created the AT-FST or the All Terrain Fire Support Transport. His entry had a full description to it that I had to cut off for space reasons. Sorry Tarvitz.

Ask Edgar (Egg)

Esca and Droveth double teamed me and asked the following related questions. I will tackle them in one response -

• (Esca) What sort of post-war situations do you feel Hoth and Solyiat will be dealing with? Even the Clan as a whole? Do you think there are still possible sympathizers amongst us and potential double agent/collective spies?

• (Droveth) And to continue off that, How do you feel the outcome of the war will affect the previous plot lines that Hot was working on?

• (Esca) Now that the war is over, and we can start focusing on more in House stuff, what do you feel is the next step towards Hoth driven story? (sort of a tie in with my first one)

  Where is the fiction story of Hoth going to go? Well before the war we had ideas but admittedly with some loose end or who will be the bad guys really be? We kicked around a few ideas but now with the war introducing the Collective there might be a slightly differently angle we can use here. The plan i hope is to sit down with Keiji and Celevon to further the current story with making major additions and factions that are available to us.

I also want to coordinate our story with the overall clan and maybe even Shan’s future stories as well. So there are different options and avenues available to us so it’s time to start pulling at a few threads and move us along. So Collective sympathizers or enemies left for us to fight would depend on the final War fiction from the DC and Turel/Arch. If the possibility is there I don’t mind exploring it.

The next big step I believe is for us to draft a big fiction update to fill in from the last event, the war and some happenings on Solyiat as well. Then once we know the Clan Calendar prepare for another and this time more proper BT and House events. To answer the obvious question I’d love it to be within the first quarter of 2018, but it will depend on the Clan and Club calendar of events before I know for sure. Until then we hope you all help us build up the House and the factions fictionally over the course of the next few weeks and months.

Esca then asked - How do you feel about the Scimitar results now that the year is coming to a close? Are those at the top who you expected to be there? Any surprises? Having taken statistics throughout, can you use this event to determine where we need additional focus activity wise?

The Scimitar of Hoth well as you know and have seen already is a very tight race with no one person certain for the top prize. In fact the top 3 places could flip in many different ways. So I feel very pleased with how the competition has panned out and honestly I wasn’t sure who would be in the running when we started this but as the months moved on the same 5 to 6 people kept showing up so it’s been fun to watch.

The biggest (happy) surprise for me was how a lot of new people took to the competition which is awesome to see new members get excited about a comp like this. Then again there is the excitement of waiting for the results to be released. Seeing that always makes a organizer happy.

As for the 2018 version of the Scimitar based on this version we have already earmarked a few changes to the competition we will make for the next version. Don’t worry; nothing that will dramatically change the core of the competition but we are thinking point value changes, eliminating some and adding others. Also at this point we are more than likely going to move away from the 72 hours release of scores for a double check. Our tracking is good and we haven’t had any major errors so we might just release results in my report and when we close the comp. Also YTD totals will be released on a regular basis maybe at the end of the quarter or so.

What I’d like to do is float a survey in the next week or so to poll the members on possible changes to the Scimitar and to anything else we do in the House. Maybe even open the floor for member ideas to shape our next update. Who knows?

In conclusion -

So as we end the year off as the First Clan of the DJB just remember we did it as one Clan and not 2 separate houses. This honor is equally shared among every member of COU. From the newest recruit to the Clan summit and Clan Title Holders we all did it together. This is exactly what Odan-Urr was built on and I’m so proud to see the entire Clan come together to make this happen.

So, again I give you my heartfelt Thanks for do all you could do to propel Odan-Urr to the winner’s circle in the Great Jedi War! I’m very proud and humbled by all of you!
