Plagueis, it I, your friendly whip-wielding Quaestor. There's going to be the usual news from Plagueis and elsewhere and some talk about the upcoming Rite of Supremacy. And yes the subtitle of this report is rather clumsy, but I find it endearing so we're going with it.
See what I did there? I'm not ashamed, and you shouldn't be either. This coming Saturday the 13th of October sees the start of a Rite of Supremacy. Just what is a Rite of Supremacy? It's a fair question to ask since there hasn't been one in a hot minute. To borrow from the DJB Wiki, a Rite of Supremacy encompasses all facets of the Brotherhood, like a miniature Great Jedi War with the rewarding of titles: First, Second, and Third Clan of the Brotherhood. Now, as you will be aware if you participated in the last GJW about a year ago, you'll know that the bin system is how these things work. A bin is the way competitions are organised. So, if there was a fiction bin for a week, it might have three competitions in it with different prompts. You only need to get an entry in for one of them to get participation in the bin. Now, writing three fictions in a week would be difficult, but that was an example, we'll know what the bins are closer to the time.
If I have one piece of advice for you all, it'd be to do as many bins as you can before going for completion of any bins. Participating in more bins is better for both you and the clan than not submitting to a bunch of them because you want to fill in a couple. If there are team events, we on the summit will do our best to ensure people can find teams. I don't want to sound dramatic, but this is a major event for Plagueis. We didn't perform particularly well in the GJW, and as one of the people who were on the summit at the time, I'm determined to avoid repeating that performance. If you need a fiction proofreading, I find asking people if they're available to proof your work helps. Doubly so if you're working in GDocs and can drop a link to make things easier.
On the topic of the RoS, you only have until the 12th to sign up for the HotS and JA PvP brackets. There was an Overwatch bracket, but that was cancelled(Links to things will be provided in the news section).
I'd like to welcome ScayP Vontroxis to House Ajunta Pall. He is one of the best friends of the HKM Quaestor TuQ in that game called Real Life and is the best man at TuQ's upcoming wedding, so commiserations on that. Joking aside, it's a great time to be a new member, and I look forward to seeing you all welcome him with open arms.
