Something a little different this month, I'm trying something out. As you may know, our Vacation on Dagobah is well underway. This event is designed to be a quick, easy to do event featuring 9 competitions each week and a Run On lasting both weeks. I cannot stress enough the simplicity of these events. I managed to get everything sans the run on finished in about an hour or so and that's with terrible timing on the puzzles. By doing more things and taking part you allow us to help you. Want a promotion? This helps towards that. Need more credits for flashy possessions? Got ya covered. Want to be part of BA effort to do all the things? You're all invited. So this may or may not have spiralled out of control and devoured my intro, but to end I'd like to welcome Thanadd Mawgath and Solas Night-Thorn to HAP, these two came to us after the unfortunate closure of Tarentum. If you haven't already, send them a message on Telegram or an email, whichever you prefer, just introducing yourself to our new arrivals so that they may find themselves welcome members of our little community.
So while I've covered the upcoming event in some detail above, this part is going to be something different. As anyone who looked at our clan chat on [Telegram - Log in to view join link] will know, Laren pulled out his finest pom poms and was something of a cheerleader. This is something we've identified as a summit we'll do to help get the best out of you lot. But also if you feel like taking that role on yourself then, by all means, go for it. Just because there are finite leadership positions, that doesn't mean only those people get to act like leaders.
Heading towards the various holidays this month, here are some things that happened on the 10th of January throughout history.
49 BC- The future Roman dictator Gaius Julius Caesar crossed the Rubicon river in Italy, signifying the beginning of the civil war between the Caesarians and the Pompeiians.
1276- Pope Gregory the 10th died
1776 saw the publishing of Thomas Paine's Common Sense pamphlet advocating American independence from England. Fun fact, Paine was actually born in England but moved over to the colonies with assistance from Benjamin Franklin.
1806 saw two British brigades occupy Cape Town, South Africa after defeating a French vassal in the Battle of Blaauwberg alternatively known as the battle of Cape Town.
It's a new year, that means we have a tremendous opportunity to show everyone how kickass Plagueis is by murdering this event, we on the summit have high hopes that we believe all you awesome people are able of contributing towards and possibly exceed them.
