Hello loyal readers, and welcome to another monthly report by yours truly.  I know there’s lot of reports coming out all at once, so please bear with me on just one more.  Plenty of competitions have kept us occupied, at the very least, and I can’t wait to see what happens as the low-impact holidays start coming around (I’m looking at you, Valentine’s Day).  There’s also some useful tidbits that I’ll be throwing down for the Aedile applications, and some general tips and tricks for your digestion.  Last but not least, just before the “Final Words” section are the answers to all your questions that you asked during the Q&A that we had in Telegram.

The Business End

Aedile Apps Closing Soon

I realized too late that I didn’t actually set a closing date for AED apps for Galeres, and it wouldn’t be fair to end it without giving an official timeline.  Therefore, the final deadline is set for 14 February 2018!  Following the closure of applications, we will enter a brief deliberation and “interview” period before making our final decision.

I encourage any interested party to send in their applications, and I am always available to answer questions over Telegram or e-mail in the interim.  I likewise recommend making sure you have a quality app that stands out: get it proofed, hit all the points, and add some of your own flavor.

(Even Moar) Wiki Work

The strugglebus to fix up Galeres’, Nighthawk’s (the BT), and the Nighthawk’s (the ship) wikis is still underway.  No change from last month’s report.  If interested in assisting, send myself and Constantine a message on Telegram or via e-mail.

Additionally, there’s wiki work that applies to the Clan on the whole, and while Grot has been doing an amazing job thus far, I think it’s about time he got some help.  Whether it’s brainstorming or wikifying the information, there’s a place for you to throw your name in the hat.  Contact points for this task are to Atty ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]), Kordath ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]), Terran ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]), and myself ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]).

Q&A with Q.A.

Arright schuttas!  This is the part you waited for!  Or at the very least bombarded Telegram for!  Read on and enjoy… or don’t.  :p

Donny asks:  Where can we as members help out?  I know we’ve got the Selen Dev comps going on and all, but for Galeres what is happening/taking place and where can the membership help out in developing content or identity with many of the major shifts in Clan Lore of late (leaving Eldar, losing the Fleet, etc.)?

Let’s look at the fictional side first.  Galeres is and has been the militaristic arm of the Arconan hierarchy.  Barring any endgame fiction shenanigans, Galeres (and Battleteam Nighthawk) is trying to recover from the losses on Nancora — that means building bases, recruiting soldiers, and improving on current training doctrines (if there are any).  From Qyreia’s perspective, the whole thing was a fiasco that pointedly means there needs to be some actual facilities to work from, and not just floating with the Fleet (which is very badly damaged by now).  Additionally, she will in no way condone (read: tolerate) any “fanatic” tactics, either in line with the Collective or as dictated by Consul Satsi.

Now, in terms of how to best help develop the House, the Selen Development comps are a great way to do this.  Additionally, not only are we always asking for help on the wiki, but we have our own Telegram channel where this stuff can be brought out in an open forum for us to discuss.  You think something needs to be addressed?  Bring it up.  Not everything will or can be incorporated, but living in a vacuum of input leaves the decisions in the hands of a few.  I hope that answers your question.

Terran asks: Does your report’s answer section have a good title, or the best title?

You could say it has a Clan title.  Eh?  Ehhhhhh?

Xenna asks: What goes in a space taco?

Onions, peppers or salsa, blue-milk cheddar cheese, and either bantha or womp rat meat (depending on where you’re buying the tacos).

Leeadra asks: Where did you get your recipe for space tacos?

From space.  Where else?  :P

Donny asks more questions: What are your goals as QUA?  What statistics are you reviewing for activity, recognition, etc.?  What do you see happening now that you would like to see improved during your term?

Constantine asks: What long-term goals are planned for House Galeres and what is in store for the House in general?

Less people going Rogue, honestly.  We’ve had quite a few people lingering on the fringes who are just now falling off from time-outs.  Recognition has always been about activity: competitions, leadership or other positions, and project work (some small consideration is given to active communication).  As for goals, I want to get the wikis (Galeres, BT Nighthawk, and the Nighthawk) streamlined and brought up to date.  That’s my biggest hurdle right now, and I like to work one thing at a time.  Also looking into a recruiting drive sometime soon, similar to what Zuji has been doing over in HQD.

Lee asks: What was the first change you made to the QUA office after Donny left?

In character: put up my personal effects and rearranged the furniture a little bit.  Out of character: nothing.  Most everything going down was something that was already being worked on.

Rhylance asks: What plans are there for the House that newbies like me should know?

That depends on where your interests lie.  Wanna help out?  Wiki work.  Wanna game?  Get dem CoFs and CoEs.  Wanna build the fictional side?  Wiki work.  Also SD comps.  :p

Rhylance also asks: How long before our characters hate each other?

Umm…  Qyreia doesn’t really know Rhylance save for the basics on his file.  Just remember that grabby hands get shoosted really quick.  Ask Kordath how he got that little bald spot just below the neck.  (He doesn’t actually have one, but the little schutta should.)*

Warp asks: Should I stay or should I go now?

Stay.  Staaaaay.  Good Warp.  Good boy!  But really, please stay.  We like you here.

GFDIDonny asks: How would you feel about collecting a House Galeres or Clan Arcona playlist where each member submits a single song to the playlist that becomes available to the Clan?

Final Notes
