Imperials,

Welcome friends to the February edition of my reports. As was discussed last month, with the new year, the summits and I have refocused ourselves on our commitments as leaders in the clan. This means you are going to be hearing more from us - like you may have seen us poking around on the house channel. It also means there’s going to be better consistency - like regular monthly reports such as this. And it also means we have a lot of things cooking on the stove, such as a House-wide event scheduled for April, but we will have more on that for you later.

In the meantime, it seems like we as a house have been a bit slow to rise from the holiday season - after kicking ass in the Sithmas competitions, I’ve noticed a number of us are having tighter schedules and other commitments as we have gotten back into the swing of our daily lives. This is to be expected. We all have our own personal lives; with some busy with work, others with school, some with new families starting, and others still with their own personal interests taking over like scouts, programming, or trade shows.

I can’t stress this enough; regardless of how much time you have for DJB activities you have a home here in Imperium. There’s been some concern brought up regarding the mixed messaging on this. As some people have pointed out the direction in my last report,( which you can find right here ) has contradicted some of the mesaging others have put out. We have addressed this issue in the summit, and I thank those that brought forward their concerns regarding this. At no point should you be made to feel bad about your activity contributions, regardless of the level. On the flip side, we as the summit should be providing opportunities for ALL levels - and we will be. I’ve spoken with my team about this and it is a commitment we are making for the future and something we will continue to discuss. For those that were made to feel out of place or that they should transfer to rogues - I do apologize on behalf of the team.

News & Announcements

On the House level:

• A New Battleteam Leader - Recently, we had some turnover in the position of BTL of Pellaeon that lead to a short application period. We had several people interested, but unfortunately we can only choose one. That said, please join me in congratulating and welcoming Lexiconus Qor back to the summit team. I strongly believe Pellaeon is in good care with his hands and I look forward to the awesomeness that Lex will bring to the position.
• Meme An Imperial - Unfortunately, I do not have an entry to announce with this report as unfortunately no one submitted (despite two extensions). There was some conversation on the mailing list about what we were looking for with this competition, and I hope to be clearer in the future. However, I’m also looking for feedback. Why didn’t you compete? Please feel free to reach out to me and let me know so we can adjust our competitions properly in the future.
• Membership Evaluations - As many of you are aware, weekly I go through the site and look for every opportunity to promote or award someone. When I feel someone is close but not quite there, I throw out an email to that person is hope to providing some guidance. However, you don’t need to wait for me if you are interested in knowing. If you have a goal in mind, be is a promotion or specific award - let me know. I’m happy to go over these evaluations with you at any time.

On the Clan level:

• Proconsul Still Open to Applications - With Braecen unfortunately stepping down for personal reasons, this has left us without a Proconsul for the moment. Applications are still open which you can see details for here,. If you are interested, I strongly suggest you apply sooner rather than later as Eli and Mune reserve the right to select early if they deem it necessary.
• New Clan Telegram Channel - With Xen stepping back from the club for a bit, there’s been this ongoing concern that if he didn’t check in with us every once and awhile - would the channel lock out? Unfortunately, ownership in Telegram is untraceable and not will addressed by the developers yet. However, following the example Taldryan provided we felt it was best if we followed suit and closed the old channel and opened a new channel under Eli’s ownership. • Clan Fiction Teaser - In case you missed it, Eli put out an announcement yesterday with a quick fiction update and a link to the clan fiction archive. If you haven’t had a chance to check it out, please make some time and get ready. We have a major clan event coming up in March.

On the DB-Wide level:

• A New Grand Master - As many are aware, we are currently in the process of changing Grand Masters for the club. I just want to take a moment and publicly thank Sarin/Pravus for his work, leadership, and commitment he’s made to us all. It was recently announced on Telegram that a vote was called from the electorate on making Mav our next GM and that the decision has passed. As of Feb 23, we will see the transition of power from Pravus to Mav. Best of luck to the new Grand Master - I’m sure he’ll need it dealing with all of our crazy nerdiness :)
• Fist Update on Starcraft II - Drac recently provided a change to Starcraft 2 and the difficulty ratings of its co-op mode. Check it out here
• Have A Mircosoft Account? - If so, please check out this message from Howie and note how you may be effected by the recent Microsoft changes.

Battleteam Cup

The last thing I want to over today and the major event of this month: The Battleteam Cup.

For those not familiar, you can see Eli’s announcement here or you can read the important section, quoted here:

Battleteam Cup Format

A four-way Battle Team competition with a twist - points will be awarded to a Battle Team based on individual activity. Points will be accrued by members based on regular activities tracked on the Brotherhood site (see below). This is a pilot (ALPHA Test) for this kind of friendly unit competition and comes with no specific rewards beyond the honor of being recognized as the most active team in Scholae Palatinae.

Point System:

• Participation in a competition: 5 points (double for DB wide competitions)
• Organisation of competition by BT member: 5 points
• Completion of a shadow academy exam: 2 points
• Gaining a shadow academy degree: 5 points
• Pendant of Blood: 5 points
• Scroll of Indoctrination: 10 points

We are just over half-way through the month for this competition, and for the next few days you are going to see the summit blitzing this event. We want to test the system as best we can so we can adjust it further going forward. So I have a request for each of you. For the remaining days of the competition, let’s all try to do at least three of these categories in the point system. And let everyone else know how it went for you. Later today I’m going to release “Raiju’s Recommendations” where I will go over what you can do to participate, if you do one of these recommendations or another event, let the house know. Let’s get vocal about what we are doing, and let’s see if we can build up some momentum on this competition. I really would like to see a Imperium BT take the lead, but more importantly - I want to stress this competition so we can look at how to run an official competition down the road.

Conclusion
