Greetings everyone and welcome to this month’s House Karness Muur Quaestor Report. With my last report covering the end of our last excellent clan event, The Enemy Below, the last month hasn’t been particularly eventful and should have been relatively relaxing for everyone, in the way of Brotherhood matters (I hope everyone’s RL is suitable as well, I hear somebody got a much-wanted job). As such, it’s time to start stirring and there’s no greater scent for a clan of Sith, Mercs, and Troops to stir toward than the smell of War on the breeze.
First and Foremost and Furios on everyone’s minds should be that there’s a Great Jedi War coming! These events only come once every few years and are supposed to be the greatest tests of competitive excellence in the club. This is where we really let our Clan Flags Fly (Unless there’s a change-up of some kind). So keep your eyes and ears open as we all await further news. In the meantime, the Brotherhood at large is still working hard as usual:
Our regal Regent recently released the newest department of our club’s Possessions stores, the Celebration store! You can check out and maybe purchase some relatively “unique” merchandise. Details and the rest of the report can be found here.
Mav’s latest Deputy Grand master report can be found here. There’s some important information in here about how the ACC will be implemented into the Great Jedi War so give it a quick read. The knowledge may come in useful when the ladders start.
The fantastic Mr. Fist has released his latest report here with a supplemental here and his Praetor’s got some good gaming news here.
The Herald’s office opened up applications for the Magistrate position with details here. If you feel like your artistic talents are up for the task, write-up an application and turn it in. The applications have been extended as well so they must really want a good selection before appointing a Magistrate.
Our hardworking Headmaster has released his one-year report which has some important information on new courses and his office’s various projects. Congratulate him on holding his position and continuing to be a genuine asset to the club.
Read Voice Report #7. I’d normally tell you about the details but I feel like this is just too awesome of a report to share on. Just read it yourself. It’s a good one.
The Combat Master also just released a report as well with more ACC goodness. Seeing as the ACC has been confirmed to hold a large role in the Great Jedi War, I highly recommend we all keep up to date on the fixes and changes one can expect before it’s ready for the War and there’s no better place than to hear about it than here.
I’d also like to remind everyone that the comps that just started for the Manifest Destiny Run-On will continue indefinitely so that we can continue to reward your efforts and word counts while you develop your characters and the clan progresses fictionally. They’ll be run by quarters in case the leadership shuffles or something so be ready for the start of Manifest Destiny Quarter 3 next month. I’m looking forward to seeing the stories unfold for each of you and how you write with each other. Have fun and happy writing.
Since I sit under the presumption that you, the reader, have read my previous reports, I think that each of you is aware of just how much I’ve been talking about Great Jedi Wars and other such events since I became Quaestor (what ever will I talk about afterward?). Now think about the fact that all of my previous insight, or whatever you want to call it, in Quaestor’s Words has been fueled by the mere rumors of the upcoming Great Jedi War. That’s how big these events are and how important they are to me, as well as a majority of the Brotherhood. These are the types of events that members used to flock to just for the chance to compete in something big. That being said, this month I want to talk about the role of the individual in these events, what each person needs to think about and act on during one of these events.
As a member of the clan I want each and every one of you to accomplish one goal, participate in every competition of the Great Jedi War. That’s it. That’s all any of us want you to do. Just a qualifying entry for each competition and we’re ecstatic. That being said, it’s not always easy to keep up. We procrastinate or life gets in the way. I understand entirely that there can be small obstacles and complications, but that doesn’t mean it’s not an entirely doable goal. There are many ways to keep yourself on track. First, when news comes out with a date, check your calendar. Don’t make plans for those weeks unless you’ve set aside sufficient time to finish all your entries. When the actual event starts, note which competitions are quick and easy and complete them quickly and easily. If there are comps you really want to give your all on and earn a Nova, save it for after you’ve gotten all the others out of the way. If there are team events, find your teams as soon as possible (ask your leaders if you have to, especially me, your Quaestor). Another good tip is to make sure the time you set aside is for the DB and nothing else. Make sure you’re caught up on all your social media and video games and whatever other online distractions you may have. Make sure you don’t have pressing errands or housework that day and above all make sure the people you live with know ahead of time that you need this time set aside. Communication is key.
Now that we’ve talked about what the goal is, let’s review some reasons you want to accomplish this goal. To provide you with a bit of a parallel, competing in the DB is like soccer and the Great Jedi War is the World Cup. There are seven teams and you can already guess what the rosters are. You don’t get to opt out, you don’t get to just sit back and hide in the shadows (or on the bench). If you are on the clan roster, you will be counted when the unit grading comes around. If you are on the roster, we want you to come play with us. If you are on the roster, the Great Jedi War will come and go whether you’re there or not. You could avoid the Great Jedi War and not only you would be missing out on participating in a monumental and momentous event, but you’d be letting the score of the whole team suffer. That may not sound so bad, but you have to realize that we’re not a large-rostered clan. If our numbers get too low AND they see that our participation in events is low, we could be at risk of losing our houses and even the Clan. I’m not that worried because that takes a while to happen, but it’s not particularly good to tempt fate.
On the other hand, the rewards for participating are too good to pass up. Each comp you participate in during the Great Jedi War gives you credits, just like any other competition. As part of a major club-wide event, you’re awarded a Seal specific to the event, which also awards you more credits. If you participate in enough competitions during the event (ideally all of them), your level activity will become high enough, due to the multiplicative value of a major event, to earn a merit medal, which also awards you credits. For those of you who are at least at the rank of Knight, such participation will also add more stock to your next promotion. For those of you who aren’t, participating in many of the events will count in some way toward your next promotion, whether it’s through fictional word count or Clusters from gaming, or simply participating in competitions, events like these are amazing for climbing such ranks. Lastly, your awards also provide the clan with something too. We get credits for the clan fleet, which gets Clan Plagueis closer and closer to the goal (which I suddenly made up and can’t guarantee I’ll back) of assigning every single member a capital ship. Do your part! Reap the rewards! Make us proud!
The rumors and whispers have finally converged into a clear, ringing Voice that verifies a Great Jedi War is on the way! We haven’t got any details yet, but we should be hearing something any day now from the Grand Master. To put things into perspective for you, the last GJW was almost three years ago and in those last three years, a ton has changed in the club. I’m truly excited to see how it unfolds and our role in it. If it’s anything like Clan Plagueis’ roles in the last few events, we’re in for a wild, bumpy ride. I’m excited to show the club what we’ve got and I can’t wait to give it my best with all of you, my Brothers and Sisters in Arms. Keep your eyes and ears open and be ready.
See you next month!

As always, Furios, your commentary is spot on. Thanks for a fantastic report.
#FreecapshipsonFurios Also solid report, especially the section that answers the title of Az's report. Turns out war is rather useful.
