Welcome back, Muurians!

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season no matter what you celebrate!

I want to start off by thanking my #Quaestorincrime Kelly Mendez aka Scudi for all of the hard work and hours of gaming with me that she has put in. Kelly has held the Quaestor position in HAP since before I joined and I wish her all the best in her leadership retirement. Her successor has some big shoes to fill but I think whoever takes over the position will bring a fresh perspective on things.

Ringing In The New Year!

2018 has been a fun and interesting year for House Karness Muur. My predecessor took us on a Vacation On Dagobah. We investigated the Mysteries Of Aliso. House member turned on House member in the Pro Bowl. We said farewell to Furios and Azmodius, two long standing members of the House Karness Muur summit, and saw the appointment of myself and Tahiri in their stead. Closing out the year, we saw the Clans face off against the Collective as they battled for the Rite Of Supremacy. And finally, we all enjoyed a much needed break heading into the Nightmare Before Sithmas.

Wow! Laying it all out like that shows that, undeniably, it was a very busy year!

All in all, I was happy with House performance over the past year. Looking at the numbers from the two most recent events, just about ⅔ of HKM is not only participating in these events but placing as well (way to go!).

I want to give a special shout out to Brimstone, who not only has been recovering from several major surgeries particularity on his eyes, but also has managed to participate in over 120 competitions this past year alone!

Now, while I am happy, I do think that there is quite a bit of room for improvement. But don’t worry; I won’t let you do it alone. Both Tahiri and I want to give you as many opportunities for participation, and starting in the new year, we are planning on running more frequent competitions for the whole clan but with HKM in mind. If you have feedback on the comps we are running or you want to see a particular type of competition, please feel free to reach out to either Tahiri or myself and let us know!

Keep in mind, this does not mean that you as a member are not allowed to organize your own competitions. In fact, we would love nothing more than to see you do that! All we ask is that you keep us posted on your competition plans, and let us know if you have any questions or need a hand.

This year is going to be great! I am really looking forward to what we have planned and to go on the adventure with all of you!

Conclusion

Because I keep forgetting to do this in the Plagueian Telegram chat and because I want to end the year off on a fun note, I’m going to share my #songoftheday. Ringing in the new year I chose a very apt song, “What Are You Doing New Years Eve” by Peter Griffin...I mean, Seth Macfarlane. Believe it or not, the voice of Peter Griffin has an amazing voice for swing and has legitimately become one of my favourite swing artists.
