A Message from the Quaestor

Hey guys, happy to see you all for another wonderful month. I continue to be happy with the strides HQD makes within Arcona, and with a new event that will be detailed below, I can’t wait to see what you are all made of!

Our very own Leeadra has sent out a survey on Telegram and over email. She will be heading up the up and coming HQD/VB RP Nights! I have seen a variety of interest over Telegram on this topic, and while our sister House Galeres may have started the idea, we are HQD which means stealing is what we do!

We will be competing against Galeres in the new Arcona event our lovely upper Summit is putting on. Even though this is a competition, I also expect you all to show respect to our Arconan brothers and sisters. Friendly competition is good, but take it too far and people get hurt.

I hope to see everyone stepping up a bit over the next month, and I will not back away from this challenge myself. Now let’s see what Lucine has to say!

A Message from the Aedile

Hello, darlings! Here we are, another month, another report! The Clan-wide Balancing the Books event is underway (see below for more info), so and there are lots of other competitions and other fun stuff to sink your teeth into. Given that we are competing against our sister House, we should work hard to put forth a good showing. Because this event is using the bin system, it is important to try and do comps in as many bins as possible. Many of these comps are quick and relatively simple. Go forth, for the glory of HQD!

In the next month, we will be bringing you another event. Like the last one, the fictional impact will be determined by you. So, keep your ears open for more information regarding it!

As always, if you have any ideas regarding events or competitions we could run for the House, please do not hesitate to reach out to Rhylance and myself. We are here for you and want to make sure that you are having as much fun as possible in our little club.

House Fiction Update

Sorry, darlings, there is no fiction update this month. Go participate in the Balancing The Books competition instead!

News

Arcona News

• The big news is that we have a intra-Clan event! We are competing against our sister House, Galeres. It will occur in two phases: the first will run until March 15th, the second will run from the 16th to the end of the month. For more information, check out the Proconsul’s report!
• The Houses now have a spending account! This account is based on the activity of its individual members, and can be used to buy all sorts of neat stuff for the Qel-Droma. So, get out there and do some comps because the Aedile needs a new outfit. For more informations, check out the Consul’s Report.
• You asked, so we are delivering! We will be starting House-wide roleplaying sessions presently. Interested in joining in? Then be sure to fill out the survey to let us know your availability.
• Be sure to check out the reports for our own Voidbreaker and Spectre Cell

• The PCON Log asks a couple:

  • Are You Ready?
    • Rhylance: Can you not wait until I am finished with this experiment? I have many important things to do.
    • Lucine: Perpetually! Bring it on!
  • Have you guys decided on future prospects for what you want to purchase for HQD with the new credit system in place?
    • Rhylance: Once we have more to play with, we shall go shopping!
    • Lucine: We’ll be taking a look, and taking suggestions from people within the House. And then? Shopping spree!

• Zuji asks a bunch!:

  • What is on your own personal event prepsheet? As in, how do you get yourself ready for a big event like a Clan one? Do you do word count reps? Smash x-button combos? Chase down and ensure all stray skitters are loyal and positioned?
    • Rhylance: Sleep for most of the event, and then rush when I have 2 hours left to go. I find that the rush of adrenaline helps keep me on my toes.
      • Lucine: An exciting training montage including drinking raw eggs and punching a side of beef before running up the steps of the Philadelphia Library in slow motion, with “Eye of the Tiger” blaring in the background.

• Alaisy asks three:

  • Lucine, if you were to give anyone in HQD some desperate fashion advice, who would that be and what would you tell them?
    • Lucine: I would not dream of calling out anyone’s fashion sense (or lack thereof) in such a public venue. However, I do offer a bit of general advice. There are more colors and textures out there than black leather. Wearing it exclusively does not automatically make you an edgelord.
  • To Rhylance, what makes you smile? We're talking about a genuine smile here.
    • Rhylance: Many things make me smile. Discovering new effects my concoctions have on my enemies is a fairly safe bet. Allowing others to experience the vastness of my intellect will always bring a smile to my face.
    • Lucine: Yes, darlings, humility is truly one of his strong suits.
    • Rhylance: Thank you for noticing. I knew there was a reason I liked you, dearie.
  • To both, what is your greatest regret?
    • Rhylance: Not destroying those who betrayed me.
    • Lucine: Not super-gluing pants on the Shadow Sloth during our last ACC match, when I had him unconscious and at my mercy.

• Lee asks:

  • Why me?
    • Rhylance: Why not you?
    • Lucine: Because you have the good fortune of being our minion the Captain of Voidbreaker.

• Xenna asks:

  • what color would your death star be?
    • Rhylance: I prefer clean and effective hues, so maybe a chrome, and black.
    • Lucine: A functional one. Most likely not rainbow colored.

• Abby says:

  • I'll miss you at the wedding
    • Rhylance: I am sad that I cannot make it. Babies tend to do that to my freedom...
    • Lucine: I’ll be there in spirit. Just like Ghost Atty, just not quite as snarky.

• Jael asks:

  • Do you prefer your porg dish salted or sweetened?
    • Rhylance: That answer relies on many variables and factors. One with a palette like mine understands the fine intricacies of superior dining.
    • Lucine: It depends very much on the side dishes and type of wine being served. Either is acceptable. It also depends on the company. If my dinner date is salty, then I would prefer my dinner to not be.

In Closing…

With such a busy month ahead of all of us, make sure to take some time for yourselves as well. As much as I love to see the constant flood of emails showing off all of your achievements, we don’t want you guys to get burned out. Keep a balance in your lives, like with the Force. And let's beat Gal while we’re at it!
