A Message from the Quaestor

Hello members of Qel-Droma. I hope that life has kept you all well since our last report. We have just finished up SINS round IV as well as an ACC event! I would like to thank everyone who participated in these for their time and dedication. We now face the Rite of Supremacy! Be sure to message Lucine, myself, or another Summit Member to join the telegram war chat we're using for this event!

I know that we all have busy lives, and with this RoS I only ask that you do what you can to participate. Member participation, not necessarily placement, is what will win us this Event! Without your efforts Arcona doesn't stand a chance.

Expect to see awards coming out following this RoS, and also the end to the current “Shadowport in Shambles” storyline. We will be running the final round of that late November through early December. Afterwards the next HQD storyline will commence, and I plan on heavily involving our active membership in the fictions!

A Message from the Aedile

Hello, darlings! As I am sure you’ve heard by now, we’ve got a Rite of Supremacy (RoS) coming up! For all of you new people, a RoS is a DB-wide event similar to a Great Jedi War. This event is going to be 5 weeks long, and feature a wide variety of events, each of which will fall into general categories, or bins.

Life is hectic. No one understands that better than I do. However, participating in events like these is the single best way you can help out your clan. Winning clans get all sorts of prizes, such as more money to buy great fictional stuff for you! Plus, there’s the bragging rights. Hooray for bragging rights!

But there is another reason that it is important to participate. Let’s not forget that one of the reasons Tarentum was chosen for closure was for lack of consistent activity. I don’t tell you this to scare you, because nothing like that is on the line right now. But if we do not show up, and consistently show up, then there is a risk we could find ourselves in a similar situation further down the line.

So, do some things! If you can manage to hit every competition, then great! You’re a superstar! But even doing one competition helps immensely. So, as they say in pretty much every school-related anime I have ever seen, ‘Let’s all do our best!’

Ask the Deadly Duo

• Satsi asks some really deep ones:

  • What is your opinion on the existence of a higher power and also the reason for being?
    • Rhylance: “Higher powers are only here as an explanation for things we can not yet understand. They make us feel better about our own lives by planting the blame for our actions on divine or demonic origins. That is my specific belief, though of course, the Force beckons a new deliberation on the subject.”
    • Lucine: “I am not really qualified to answer that, darling. I have no proof that there is not a higher power. And enough people believe in it that there might be merit in it. At the very least, it is an interesting thing to explore, and possibly exploit.”
  • What do you consider our moral purpose?
    • Rhylance: “The only purpose we have in life is that we can contribute. To those who use their life to it's for potential, a future full of moral possibilities exist. To those who do not? Their only purpose is to act as a stepping stone to our greatness.”
    • Lucine: “To lead a full, interesting life. To touch as many lives as possible. And to have a little fun while you are at it.”

• Archenksov asks:

  • Let's say we open this alliance up a little, just hypothetically. Which clan would you most like to be sister-wives with?
    • Rhylance: It really depends on that they bring to the alliance, and if they would be willing to work with us.
    • Lucine: Hypothetically? Probably Plagueis or CSP.

• Kordath asks:

  • How do Rhylance and Lucine feel about the idea of the Clan possibly working with the Inquisitorius in the future, for the trading of information and protection, going both ways?
    • Rhylance: “Information is the truest form of currency. It is worth more than any amount of credits. So long as the information keeps coming, they are useful to us.”
    • Lucine: “It is worth exploring. After all, any alliance could be advantageous, given the right terms.”

• Leeadra asks:

  • How do you feel about Skar stealing Peach's crown?
    • Rhylance: “Crowns hold no use to me. Perhaps Lucine could make good use of it.”
    • Lucine: “Is it a nice crown? Is it something I need to steal from Skar?”

• Tali asks a bunch!:

  • How hyped are you for the RoS?
    • Rhylance: “Any opportunity to show my superiority is a welcomed one. To that end I am, as you do eloquently put it, hyped.”
    • Lucine: “Oh so very hyped! This could present the opportunity I have been looking for! Mwahaahahahahahaha!”
  • How did Sins EpIV impact your character?
    • Rhylance: The only true impact on Rhylance is he gained useful information that makes him valuable. So long as he's valuable, he need not fear his superiors.
    • Lucine: Truthfully? Not very. Lucine is far too self-centered to be bothered by the impact this event has on the little people. Of course, we shall have to see how this round turned out!
  • What was the worst part about the Estle uprising?
    • Rhylance: “Having to listen to the mobs cries and complaints. Such an annoyance, I tell you.”
    • Lucine: “Being stuck in a medical clinic for the entirety of it. At least the company was good.”
  • What actions shall you take to avoid this happening again?
    • Rhylance: “Thinning the herd, so to speak. I can replicate the plague to target who we would like removed.”
    • Lucine: “Permanently removing the worst of the rioters seems like an excellent start.”
  • Who's fault were the uprising?
    • Rhylance: “Incidents such as this can only be the fault of bad leadership in the past. We are paying for those past Sins.”
    • Lucine: “Well, I am loathe to point fingers. However, I do find it unnerving that this vast conspiracy could take place right under the noses of our current and previous leadership, with all of their Skitters and information sources.”
  • When are you two going to just get over it and 'hold hands'?
    • Rhylance: “Such a childish display of “affection” is beneath us.”
    • Lucine: “H-hold hands?! Why would you think we would need to do that?!”
  • How long do we get maternity leave? Asking for a friend.
    • Rhylance: “It really depends on your medical needs and rank within the Clan. Assistance can be provided...for a price.”
    • Lucine: “That depends. How much money do you have in savings? Sadly, I do not think Arcona currently has paid maternity. But if you… er… ‘your friend’ requires a loan, I could pull some strings!”
  • Is there a Arcona-specific daycare center available? Also asking for a friend.
    • Rhylance: “Trusted friends, if you have any, are the best option.”
    • Lucine: “I hear Zujenia does an excellent job looking after little ones.”
  • Do we have other doctors who can deliver babies or do other GP things, than Rhylance? Asking both for myself and a friend.
    • Rhylance: “Any other doctor would be a lower class of care than what I can provide. My more… debated procedures...are reserved for enemies of the Clan.”
    • Lucine: “None that I can think of. My butler has some medical training, but I do not know if that extends to delivering babies. Come to think of it, I should ask him.”
  • What does the Wook say?
    • Rhylance: Wroof Wroof Wroof, Wroof Wroof-Wroof Wroof, Wroof-Wroof-Wroof Wroof Wroof Wroof-Wroof.
    • Lucine: “He says a great many things, most of them punny.”
