A Message from the Quaestor

Hello my fellow members of Qel-Droma. The Rite of Supremacy is now over, and from what I was able to see on Telegram, I am very happy with the effort many of you put forth during the event. Every submission you were able to complete, every minute you gave for the Clan is greatly appreciated. I am proud to be the Quaestor of this House!!! The results from the RoS have not yet been released, but they soon shall be. I can’t wait!

Lucine and I have been working on the final round of the “A Shadowport In Shambles” competition, as well as the story and events that will follow its completion. We will begin this final phase in early January, so keep your eyes open.

Until then, Lucine and I are working with the Galeres Summit, Skar and Qyreia, on a Holiday Season Competition series. The link is down below in the Competitions section. Make sure you take some time to do them, if you have the availability. They are running till early January!

A Message from the Aedile

Hello, darlings! First, I want to thank all of you for your hard work and effort during the RoS. Ya’ll did an amazing job, and I am so proud of all of you!

Now that the RoS has concluded, it’s time to turn our attention back to House and Clan-related events. As Rhylance already mentioned, the final round of the Shadowport in Shambles competition will be concluding in the beginning of the year. And after that? Ohh, we have some lovely plans for all of you. But it’s nothing you need to worry about. Trust me.

In the meantime, the Selen Development Project is back in full swing! Be sure to take the opportunity to build on Arconan lore!

On a more personal note, I just wanted to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for just being you. As many of you know, this has been a rough year for me. I cannot tell you how much enjoyment I have gotten from interacting with you. You make my life brighter, and for that, I thank you.

House Fiction Update

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;

“All right, Rhylance, I will bite. Why do you have a cage full of rats in your office?” Lucine asked as she peered past the bars. All ten of the furry creatures laid still, their paws sticking in the air. “Correction, a cage full of dead rats?” she amended with a moue of distaste.

“They were a part of my most recent experiment,” the Chiss medic replied, not bothering to look up from his datapad. Slender fingers flew over the screen as he tapped in his notes and observations.

• Xenna asks: *How do i cure that itch behind my eyeball?* * Lucine: “Oh dear, I am no good with medical questions. I’ll let the not-so-good Doctor handle this one.” * Rhylance: “Take a lightsaber and hold it in front of your eye. Engage the saber and repeat until your itch ceases to exist.”

  • What Sithmas presents have you asked for from Yumni-Clause? Or don't you believe in Yumni-Clause, the bringer of vital supplies to all good Arconans and crates of bitter disappointment to her enemies?
    • Rhylance: “If there was anything that I desired from this ‘Yumni-Clause’, it would be a way to get a certain rage monster of a woman off my back.”
    • Lucine: “Believe me, the stack of bills from Yumni-Clause’s company makes it impossible not to believe in her. Frankly, I already got what I wanted for Sithmas, but a lady does not kiss and tell.”
  • Would you consider yourself as being more Naughty or Nice this year?
    • Lucine: “A little of column A, a little of column B….”
    • Rhylance: “I would consider myself neither. To adhere to these preconceived notions of behavior is a ridiculous ask.”
  • Oh vhoops, vho put this stray twig of mistletoe above you two... Shall I remove it at once or...?
    • Lucine: “May as well leave it. It could make things interesting after a few rounds of eggnog.”
    • Rhylance: “I hardly even noticed the lone sprig of viscum album. I believe that were it to remain, fun times could be ahead.”
  • Which one of you looks cuter in a red holiday hat?
    • Lucine: “Well, there is only one way to find out! But my money is on Rhylance. It would go better with his eyes.”
    • Rhylance: “If that had were to come with a matching set of skin tight leather holiday clothes, definitely Lucine.”
  • Have you purchased any special attire for the season? #cheekylek
    • Lucine: “Of course!”
    • Rhylance: “My normal attire will be fine for this holiday season.”
  • How are you spending the holidays? (IC/IRL)
    • Lucine: In character, Lucine is going to be doing the same things she does every year; scheming and plotting and performing sneaky nefarious deeds. Instead of plotting over wine, she’ll likely be having eggnog, in honor of the season. OOC, I plan on enjoying not being in class, working the days of the holidays, and stealing some time to spend with my family in between.
    • Rhylance: Rhylance will most likely be cooped up in his lab, performing interesting experiments. I will be spending the holidays with my family!

• Kord asks: *Where do you want this 10 foot by 10 foot giftwrapped crate addressed to 'Miss Vasano' put?* * Lucine: “Ah, that must be the shipment of ‘special attire’ I mentioned above.” * Rhylance: “I can not wait to see what is inside.”

• Mako Henymory (indirectly) asks: *Is it (Port Ol’val) turning into a more family friendly place then?* * Rhylance: “Family friendly is not how I would describe it.” * Lucine: “Ha ha ha ha ha ha no.”

• The Loveable Kelviin asks:

  • HELLO FIRE LADY WHAT YOU RECOMMEND FOR HOLIDAY CAPE?
    • Lucine: “Hmm… considering the color of your fur and the festive time of year, I would go with a red-velvet Santa-style cap. It would look stunning on you!”

• Our very own Scarlett asks:

  • Given that red and green are the two most difficult colors for the human eye to put side by side, what is the fashionable benefit of having this color scheme dominate holiday attire? Is there a better choice of colors that would be more preferable while still retaining the mental association of the winter holidays?
    • Rhylance: “According to my dear friend Lucine, I have no sense for fashion. Because of this I have no comment, other than listen to the “Fire Lady” as Kelviin so eloquently growled.”
    • Lucine: “The secret, I believe, is to utilize red or green as the dominant color, reserving the other color for tasteful accessories.”
