<--\ ENTRY: Seher’s golden age is ending.
The once powerful nobility now feud and squabble like children, pitting their forces against one another. Vicious street clans now roam the streets, doling out ‘justice’ where they see fit. The local security forces run around in circles, led on an exuberant chase as if they were hounds. The various medical facilities are being overrun -- and not only by the victims of muggings and attacks, but victims of peculiar illnesses. There are rumours such as ‘poisoned water supplies’ and ‘contaminated foods’, but no-one is sure. I’ve got Hail working on finding the cause. Pirates still patrol the bay, taking unsuspecting vessels and their cargo.
There’s only so much that a meagre few dozen Jedi can do.
Ooroo’s working as hard as they physically can -- SeNet too -- to find and combat the sources of these problems. The Disciples fill the med stations, healing as many as they could, and also trying to master the intricate politics of the nobility, to quell their fighting. But Seher’s livelihood is falling fast, and the line between discontent and chaos is thinning. It’s becoming more and more difficult to get information, and the Seherob Council is growing tired of the Jedi’s prodding.
In fact, the Council has made more than one odd decision in the past few weeks. They keep leaving the forum to ‘discuss the matter privately’ before declaring their opinions. It’s really odd -- especially because their decisions are so out-of-character, endangering Seher with obvious obstacles. Their passion for the city is well-known, so these things are most perplexing. Foul play, bribery, or corruption is the most likely cause.
The city is not what it was a few months before: safe, prosperous, ambitious: a haven. Now, it is dangerous, corrupt, and lawless. It will not be long before something dire happens, like a revolt or riot. The Jedi are already out-of-place within the city. Where will they end up if the city spits them out?
As always, time will tell. The Jedi are doing all that we legitimately and safely can. Which is why we are at a disadvantage. Our enemies, of which there could be one or many, play outside the law. After trying all our options, it seems like we are unable to catch them.
One path remains unfollowed, but it is one that is trodden rarely, and is discouraged. I ponder about taking it often now. Such a path would be impossible as long as I am Aedile. But it would be more prosperous, and more likely to give results.
There lies a dark future for us, whatever happens. We are so close to finding our answer, and yet to do so will cast a grim certainty: We are no longer safe. We need to once again bear arms.
Beacons not only illuminate and guide. They repel the darkness in times of need. House Satele Shan will need to fight. It is unfortunate, however, that such a battle will be for our home.
When I discover our enemy, we’ll be playing in a whole new kind of game. In this time of unknown, it is easy to lose oneself. I stay tethered to one idea, one thought, one hope.
We will not lose Seher. Whatever happens. /-->

Kai’lesh rushed forwards, clutching a datapad in his long, blue fingers. His team’s hard work had paid off. They’d actually managed to find something valuable. That didn’t mean that Les wasn’t nervous. Showing anything to the Shinga was a bit of a gamble. Sometimes he would randomly freak out, and take out his stresses on you. Other times, he would scream obscenities at you, before sitting in his throne and silently listening to you. However, for all his ‘eccentricities’, Les respected the man. He had passion, guile, strength, and drive. In front of the men, he was a strong, resolute leader, inspiring confidence and passion. His… less stable side was only evident to the Masters.
A few months before, Les had been given a task of the highest priority: find out evidence to incriminate the Kzen enemies. He’d gathered a number of his best men and pretty much hidden himself away in his outpost, operating his department solely by comlink, or holovid. After setting up their equipment, well, there had been the immediate problem of security. It had become very rapidly evident that most of their enemies were very well protected. Slicing into high-security mainframes needed skilled workers. And while there was a decent modicum of hacking skill in their team, there wasn’t enough to hack into a state-of-the-art system. Especially one monitored and maintained by highly trained individuals.
And so he had tried a different tactic, and had worked with the Masters of Politics and Trade, to blackmail and manipulate certain officials to cough up security codes and pathways, and regularly provide intelligence on the state of their enemies. Fortunately, this tactic worked better, and he’d gained access to the Seherob and local Colonist systems. The Jedi systems had been the hardest. He spent weeks trying many different ways, and his team just could not crack it.
And then, out of the blue, a young local had approached the Kzenoi saying that he had been enrolled as a SeNet informant. This ‘Saladrin’ had apparently been tracked after a job, then asked to be a mole in the black market. He’d then approached Les as a double agent. It was the opportunity he needed. Sal had placed a small device into a terminal aboard Sanctuary II, and that had allowed an (albeit slow) connection to the Jedi mainframe. It still had security buffers all over the place, but it was a lot better than trying to hack in from a re-routed connection.
Les’ proper title, Ahnaaxeh Gnosis, roughly translated into Basic as ‘the Master of Intel’. Largely, his duties involved keeping an eye on all the organisation’s certain ‘informants’, as well as monitoring their enemies and their... positions. His latest project, hacking the Jedi, had been one of his hardest challenges since the Reformation. But he was making headway, as just that afternoon, he had finally worked his way into the Space Station’s high-security files. It was a significant leap forward, so Les had come himself to tell the Shinga. Within the next few days, they would have all the information they needed. After that, when the other Masters had completed their own missions...
Well, Les thought with a smirk, then we’ll let Sumakhos decide their fate.
Well, hello, Satelites and Shananigans. Welcome to what, sadly, will be my final report as your Aedile.
After a fairly large burnout, and with pressure being piled on from school, I can no longer remain as your Aedile. It has been a great pleasure working with all of you, and, when I have the time again, I’ll be around again :) You can expect the Clan Summit to open applications soon.
If you’re interested in the fiction above, then you’ll enjoy the upcoming House event, that’s been some time in the making. I won’t say anything more as of yet, but I can say that hints are being dropped around all over the place, so keep your eyes open for all kinds of tidbits. If anything, I will remain around just to help Mar and my replacement run the comp, as it began as an event I planned for the Disciples of Baas. It will probably be run sometime after the next Clan event, but Mar can keep you updated as per that front.
There is the event ‘Phantom of the Feud’ going on right now. A bloody war is being waged between two Seherob ‘clans’, the Bro Xu and the Zumbro. There’s a fiction comp, a flash gaming comp, and a coded message. Enjoy!
“Founded during the fall of Purity Rock, the Disciples of Baas is a Battleteam of Clan Odan-Urr whose main focus is critical aide and protection of innocents throughout the galaxy. They teach with their wisdom. They defend with their lightsabers. They heal with the Force. They protect with political savvy. They are the Disciples of Baas.” Is your character a scholar, an advocate of peace, a medic, diplomat or teacher?! Then this is the place for you! Disciples of Baas is the perfect Battleteam to join if you want to develop your character further and take an active role as one of the Jedi Masters within Arca Praxeum!

Excellent report dude. It makes me sad to see you step down, but I'm also happy to say you're the best Aedile i've ever had :P
Thank you so much for all the work you've put in as a leader in this clan, I wish you the best of luck in school. I have no doubt you will continue to be a leader in COU.
Details on the applications for AED will be published soon.

Stay awesome, bro.
Burnout sucks, however it makes you a great leader for recognizing it and stepping back without it harming your unit. Hang with us in the Clan till you get things sorted out and do what you can when you can.
Good luck with school and RL, and as Vyr said, Stay Awesome!
We love you, Seridan. Keep kicking around here, we'd miss you too much if you left for good. What Turel said. Get back into leading soon, and good luck with school!
