Introduction

Welcome to the first House Sunrider Summit report.

For those of you who know me: Hi! :D For those who don’t: Hi, and you can call me Vyr :D

In this report, I’ll touch on some of the discussions I’ve had with our Clan Summit and members through Discord. I’ll touch on the current event being run, Western March Phase 2: Contact, and I’ll touch on the plans for House Sunrider in the future.

Western March Phase 2: Contact

This is an important one so please read it thoroughly =)

The first phase of Western Marches ended on July 31st and dealt with restructuring on our side. Now, the next phase of COU’s campaign against the Vauzem Dominion has started. This time the Vauzem are in someone else’s home, and it’s a problem we’re uniquely equipped to deal with.

There are three groups of competitions related to each of the sub-factions: the Consular Conclave, the Guardian Corps, and SeNet. Each has four competitions — Multiplayer gaming, fiction, puzzles, and art — similar competitions with a unique twist specific to the sub-faction in question. All sub-factions are working in tandem against a common enemy but in their unique ways.

The beauty of this setup is that you can pick and choose what sub-factions to root for. Stick with one, or two, or all three. Perhaps it’s an opportunity to create a new alt character (or use an existing one) to do some other objectives in another sub-faction you never really thought of doing before. But maybe your character is all three — diplomat, soldier, spy — in which case go ham and do all of them.

Consular Conclave

Every war needs diplomats to eventually do what was supposed to be done in the first place — sit down and talk. If you’re interested in diplomacy, eschewing violence, and helping people more than hurting them, have a look at Phase 2: Contact - Consular Conclave.

Guardian Corps

A fight is undoubtedly going to happen, and the Guardian corps will have to be ready. They may yet need your help. If you’re more of a warrior you’ll want to check out Phase 2: Contact - Guardian Corps.

SeNet

Something lurks in the shadow, or does it? Maybe it’s in front of you, clear as day, and yet you don’t see it. Imagine how the Vauzem feel when these guys go to town. If you’re a spy, scoundrel, or anything in-between, you should really check out Phase 2: Contact - SeNet.

House Sunrider

In this section I’ll touch upon the House itself, what the plans are, and how we can communicate about them to make the House the best we can make it.

Survey

First, I’ve created a member satisfaction survey which I will send out every quarter so I can get feedback from you guys about the House. This is important because it gives me feedback on where to go with the House and gives me discussion topics to bring up with you guys via Discord.

Plans for Sunrider and Hoth

The Clan Summit has a clear plan for both Houses in the future:

1. diversify our fiction and make it different from the Clan’s story to give members more avenues to engage with the stories

2. pit one House against the other in a friendly rivalry that will bring benefits to each House in the form of activity and participation, XP, and even more tangible things like troops, bases, credits, base modules, ships, squadrons, etc.

Each House will have its own competitions and events and the Clan Summit will tally up our activities each month and grant us the above-mentioned benefits depending on our effectiveness. It’s a tangible way to not only boost your activity, and earn credits for yourself and the Clan, but also the House as well

What’s Sunrider’s story?

Sunrider has an already established history, but for all intents and purposes, this is a new start.

We will start on Daleem.

Sunrider is getting an estate on Daleem, one Tythas city. It is a city underwater off the coast somewhere on Daleem. Being underwater gives us a less explored route of aquatic species and how they interact between themselves. Mon cala, Quarren, Gungans, Tynnan, Kaminoan. The episodes about Dac in the Clone Wars come to mind. The idea is to have an underwater part and an above-water part of the city so we can balance both. How we populate the city with species, what they will do underwater (mining, research, etc), and which Guilds they will be a part of are all dependent on where we want to take the House fictionally.

So when are House comps coming?

Soon. For now I'd like us all to focus on Western marches and the upcoming ProBowl. I'll have some smaller competitions for you guys before the first big House event.
