Daleem

The hum of the terraformer buzzed in her ears, made her skin crawl, and her nerves edgy as she scratched the back of her neck for the umpteenth time. She felt uncomfortable with it, with this place, with her position. A former sy turned politician? She guessed that was the natural progression of one’s career, but still it would take a while to adjust — to both.

“You seem out of sorts, Governor,” Nikora Rhan, the Nautolan Jensaarai commented off-handedly, not even giving Tierra a glance while focusing on the latest engineering reports. Only as Tierra focused on her colleague did she notice once more that they were not alone in the temporary command center the Sunrider engineering teams had set up. Hustle and bustle galore. People coming in, going out, and the relentless tap-tap-tapping on consoles and data screens echoes through the large room.

“I must be transparent.” Tierra smiled as another warning popped up on her screen. “Is that Hab Four?”

“Yes, coming in to land safely, I’m glad to say.” They both looked across the bleach-whited room, across the multi-story data consoles and holo maps, through the viewport looking north as the massive Mon Calamari hab block descended and splashed into the ocean some five hundred yards away. It lower gently, but still the officer manning the surface scanner called out a wave warning to all personnel in the facility, or on it.

The terraformer was the heart of the city, partially submerged, purifying air and water equally and balancing the local biome. In the last several weeks it had done wonders, so much so that underwater viewports had been opened for personnel to view the wildlife. Toxicity levels had dropped enough that even reports of corals regrowing along the tectonic plates were slowly trickling in. Tierra smiled despite herself. It was a small step that would create bounds in the long run.

“Good. That’s four down, and we have several more to go.” She turned to her own console. “Hab Five is next.” She exhaled an exasperated breath.

“Yes, the trouble child.” Nikora added.

Hab Five had shown faults and errors throughout its journey from Kiast. Minor malfunctions, issues with the power system, engines. Still, the engineers and techs aboard gave it a clean bill of mechanical and electrical health on approach into orbit. Tierra crossed her fingers their plan would go through without incidents.

“Miss Rhan, your shuttle to orbit is waiting.” The Sky Warden, the officer in charge of orbital and local traffic, sounded through Nikora’s comm link.

“Good luck.” Tierra turned to Rhan, who nodded as she took a few steps towards the exit. “And may the Force be with you.”

Introduction

Welcome to the second House Sunrider Summit report.

Now that ProBowl is over and the results are in we can relax a bit and get into the House groove.

In this report, I’ll touch on the past two months, how we're doing as a House, announce a new event, and talk about our activity.

Under the sea!

The long promised event is here! Time to build Tythas City and have fun doing it.

The event will run for 27 days, it has five comps which are, in contrast with what we've been doing for the past month, a bit more relaxed.

• Beauty shot - Make the perfect panorama of Tythas City.

• Into the deep - Dive deep, dive far. Deep, deep into the dark.

• Malfunction! - Something's wrong with one of our Habitation units. Can you fix it in time?

• Places of interest - Every city need shops, offices, homes. Make one for yourself, or make one for the City.

• The people of Tythas - A city is nothing without its people. What sorts of diverse and interesting characters inhabit our home?

You guys have plenty of time to delve into these comps, so enjoy yourself and don't do everything last day. ;)

House Sunrider

In this section I’ll touch upon the House itself, as usual.

Survey

First, I’ve created a member satisfaction survey so I can get feedback from you guys about the House. This is important because it gives me feedback on where to go with the House and gives me discussion topics to bring up with you guys via Discord. Recap: Plans for Sunrider and Hoth

The Clan Summit has a clear plan for both Houses in the future:

1. diversify our fiction and make it different from the Clan’s story to give members more avenues to engage with the stories

2. pit one House against the other in a friendly rivalry that will bring benefits to each House in the form of activity and participation, XP, and even more tangible things like troops, bases, credits, base modules, ships, squadrons, etc.

Each House will have its own competitions and events and the Clan Summit will tally up our activities each month and grant us the above-mentioned benefits depending on our effectiveness. It’s a tangible way to not only boost your activity, and earn credits for yourself and the Clan, but also the House as well

Recap: What’s Sunrider’s story?

Sunrider has an already established history, but for all intents and purposes, this is a new start.

We will start on Daleem.

Sunrider is getting an estate on Daleem, one Tythas city. It is a city underwater off the coast somewhere on Daleem. Being underwater gives us a less explored route of aquatic species and how they interact between themselves. Mon cala, Quarren, Gungans, Tynnan, Kaminoan. The episodes about Dac in the Clone Wars come to mind. The idea is to have an underwater part and an above-water part of the city so we can balance both. How we populate the city with species, what they will do underwater (mining, research, etc), and which Guilds they will be a part of are all dependent on where we want to take the House fictionally.
