Hey Ventress and welcome to my 11th Quaestor report! I can’t believe it has already been a year since House Ventress was opened. It’s been a wild ride so far and with the next GJW only days away, things are about to get serious again! In the last month, we welcomed back a former Aedile and acquired a new one. A heck of a lot has happened so let me get right into it.

News

DB News

We have to begin with the recent news about the impending start of the Great Jedi War: Ascension. Bubba released a ton of information about the event which will begin next weekend on May the 28th and run until July 6th. Phase 1 will run from May 28th until June 12th. Then there will be a week’s break to take a breath and work on event long competitions before phase 2 begins June 19th. Check out that news post because it also includes information on how run ons will work with the recent retirement of the Discourse forums.

Exarch news is next where Alethia released her 4th report. Check it out if you’re interested in some roleplay updates.

Next up is Ciara with two updates from the HM’s office. In the first update, she was seeking a new Praetor, three Magistrates and a Professor of Writing. And then just a few days ago, she announced her new staff members. Congratulations to Zuza Lottson, Raleien Sonavarret and Kanal O’neill, the new Magistrates, Zentru’la the new Professor of Writing and myself, the new Praetor. Zentru’la also released his inaugural lecture. This is a new style of teaching that I think will be very beneficial. I look forward to more of them after the GJW.

Next up isn’t from the DC, but it is still an important update. Other Mav released a special report on the major revisions a small group had been making to the Consul Handbook on the DJB Wiki. This document was a bit out of date and tended to be negative. By that I mean it focused too much on the job’s difficulties and removing poor Consuls. This new version focused far more on what it takes to be a successful Consul. If you’re interested, I strongly suggest you check it out.

MAA Bear released his usual competition holds and transfer bans notification related to the upcoming Great Jedi War. Ongoing competitions need to conclude by the 28th of May, and the clan to clan transfer ban is now in place until after the event concludes.

Our Grand Master, Evant, had a couple of updates for us in the last month. The first was the announcement or Turel Sorenn as the new Fist of the Brotherhood. Congrats Turel! In his second announcement, Alethia Archenksova was named as Turel’s replacement as Left Hand of Justice. Congrats Alethia! And finally, in the usual tradition, Evant released his May the 4th report. This included the Seals of Loyalty, an update on his projects and a promotion for the Seneschal, James to a brand new Elder rank called Ascendant. I have spoken before about the amazing work that James does for this club and I was thrilled that a new rank was created specifically so he could be promoted. If there is any single individual in the DB that deserves it, it was James. Congratulations!

On the day his appointment was announced, Turel, now known as Rajhin Cindertail, released his first Fist report. He gave us core philosophy and that for now, not much will change. It makes perfect sense with a vendetta starting less than a month after appointment. The Fist is usually pretty busy with multiple gaming competitions, so it makes sense to get past that first. He did present us with some of his ideas though so if you’re interested in gaming, give it a look to see what could be coming down the pipeline later this year. He also announced a limited-time event for May 4th which has already concluded and released a supplemental about a Rites of Combat update. The biggest change was about match dodging and with the GJW a week away, I think it is a good idea for everyone to review it.

Idris was next with Chapter 3 of Shadows Unveiled. Next, he released his 13th report giving us a wealth of information on the faction that will feature heavily in the next GJW, The Children of Mortis. Finally, he released a supplemental featuring a clarification on the requirements to earn Clusters of Ice for roleplay.

The Regent, Anubis, was next with another big content drop. We got a new booster pack titled Confederacy containing 22 new items for both individuals and clans. He also provided some updates on faction possessions and other projects. Finally, he announced Korvis as his new Magistrate. Congratulations to him!

Former GM Sarin announced that Zoron was selected to serve for two years on the Star Chamber. Congratulations Zoron!

House Ventress News

There are a couple pieces of House Ventress specific news. First, former Aedile (And Fist), Dracaryis is back with us! Everyone please welcome him back. Second, there is a recent addition to Plagueis that has been absolutely blazing a trail through the Journeyman ranks. Her progress was closely followed and not long after her appointment as M:Fist, she was selected as our House's new Aedile. Everyone, please welcome Nora Olen to the House!

Clan Plagueis News

In Clan Plagueis news, Khryso released a new House Tyranus report. We’re both furiously planning how we’ll take our Houses into this vendetta. With our activity levels picking up, I am hopeful that Plagueis will perform better than we did in last year’s RoS.

Second was the ascension of a new di Plagia. As some of you may know, our Consul convened the sitting di Plagia and voted me in as their newest member. I was extremely honoured to receive this title. It had been one of my personal goals in the DB and I am very thankful to Slags and the rest of the di Plagia for voting me in.

Aedile's Corner

Hello everyone!

As Qormus mentioned earlier, I am the new Aedile for House Ventress. I am so happy to be here. For those who don't know me, my name is Nora Olen. I recently joined the Brotherhood in early February, and I must say, I am so glad I found my way here. The DJB is such a fun and rewarding place to be and I am really enjoying my time here.

I don't have much to say for this report, as I am in the process of learning this role. I do have one topic I want to touch on- the GJW. As most of you know the GJW is coming up. This is the event of the year. I just wanted to remind you, and strongly encourage you all to participate as often as you can. After all, we are ALL in this together.

I have no doubts that House Ventress/House Tyranus/Clan Plagueis is going to absolutely crush it!

Final Thoughts

We put up some really impressive activity numbers this month which I am absolutely thrilled with! The next GJW starts in about a week so we are peaking at the perfect time.
