Hello!

Whew, the Arcona Clan Gods Events were WILD and FUN! I hope you all participated and had fun too! I cannot wait to see the Fiction results as well as the winners! Hopefully soon!

Yes, I know it’s not May yet but May the 4th has been rumored to be busy and I wanted to get this report out because… well. Applications for AED are now open! If you remember why, Tali is expecting a real life tiny lek very very soon! More information can be found below!

A Message from the Aedile

Goodbye, my lektastic Qel-Dromians!

Aedileship, a great way to start your career in DJB leadership! I recommend! It’s a good place to learn, and a great place to start making your impact felt. With Jenni by your side, you can do no wrong, and even if you tried, there’s a whole Summit’s worth of exceptional individuals to help you along! Wouldn’t have traded it for anything, easily my best club decision, right after the initial one of joining the DJB overall.

With the lekling due by the time the next report is, I’ll probably be far too busy freaking out and doing breathing exercises to perform my duties, so I’ll sign off after this protracted show and dance of stepping down. But seriously, try your hand at leadership. Be brave. Be daring. If you have a story you want to tell, tell it. If you have an idea you want to show to your peers, then show it. Even if it’s doused in bad lek-puns.

And whatever you choose to do, May the Force Be With You.

Competitions

Long Running Series:

• The House storyline revolves around the Wispor system. Check out the running comps for this week here!
  
• Star Wars, now improved by the addition of capybara puzzles!

This month’s specials:

• No matter the weather, we’ll weather you whether you think we’re clever or not.
  
• Delicious in DJB! The Envoys have food stalls. You like food, right? Draw the culinary experience!
  
• Vintage puzzles! Like retro, but actually old!
  
• Unsure what to do this month? Can’t choose between Art, Gaming, Fiction, or even the venerable ACC? Well, here’s a comp for you. A veritable smorgasbord of options! Variety is the spice of life, and the spice must flow!
  

Aedile Application

Responsibilities include:

• Fostering activity
• Assist QUA in monthly reporting
• Assist in running comps and other activities to help keep members engaged
• Reward the peeps for doing the deeds
• Scheme with the QUA to shape the narrative future of House Qel-Droma
• Be able to take up QUA if I am suddenly out or sick for extended period of time (With support of Arcona Summit of course)

What We’re Looking For:

• Someone who is reasonably active on Discord, with a 24 hour turnaround time for PMs and emails
• A willingness to lead by example by organizing/participating in at least 5 competitions per month
• A willingness to work as part of a team
• Willingness to run, or co-run RP events (not a hard requirement, but a definite merit!)
• Previous leadership experience is a plus, but not a requirement

• A brief intro about yourself
• Examples of prior leadership experience (either IRL or in the DB) and what you learned from it
• Any ideas you might have regarding the fictional direction of the unit in question
• Any long term projects you would like to tackle

The deadline for applications is May 24, 2024, though I reserve the right to close applications early if I find the perfect candidate, so if your interest piqued, don’t delay apply today!
