Hello there, all you lovely people. You have mine and Terran’s apologies for the lack of a fiction this time. Between the ACB and ACC Rivalries, we both thought the other would write the fiction - therefore, K’tana will feature in next month’s fiction as well as this month’s winner! There’s a lot to go over in this edition of the Monthly Qel-Droman news, so we’re jumping right into it!
Additional competitions can be found in the Competition Center.
First and foremost, I want to take a quick moment to shine the spotlight on Mirus. He has done a phenomenal job thus far with Tyrant Sword. It’s only been a month since the team opened with only him and Rhiann on the roster. In the past thirty days, they’ve grown to eight members through his direct recruiting. To put that into perspective, most of the time a new Battleteam is formed by borrowing members from other teams in the Clan. That isn’t what Mirus has done here. He’s taken new recruits and members returning from the Rogues and forged them into a team with its own unique identity, all without pulling members from other Battleteams and weakening them in the process. Seriously, Mirus: you’ve done an amazing job putting together Tyrant Sword. Thank you. We’re expecting to see great things from all of you in the coming months.
I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to participate in Rivalries. While it doesn’t look as if Arcona will take any of the top three spots, we do have a few members in the top ten. So to those of you who have jumped headfirst into the madhouse that is Rivalries, it’s appreciated.
The other side of the coin is that we’re going to have to do a lot better during the next Great Jedi War. Historically, the ACC has been Arcona’s best event. For a time, the other Clans even started calling it the “Arcona Combat Center” because not a single ACC event took place that Arcona didn’t win. This is where we need to be, come December. So how do we get there? Read on.
For those of you who are unsure about the ACC, give it a try against your clanmates. It really is a lot of fun. For those of you who have questions or are confused, let us know. You have no less than four former and present Combat Masters as Arconans (Timeros, Sashar, myself and - of course - Marick), and numerous Arconans assisted with CS 2.0. Whatever questions you have, we can answer them. Whatever concerns plague you, we can address them.
For now, I want to challenge all of you to find a member of the House and challenge them to an ACC match. It can be a friendly match in the Story Hall, or a bloody head-to-head in the Duelist Hall. However you decide to go about it, try it. Tell us if you had fun. Tell us if you found anything confusing or overwhelming. But most of all, get out there and do it.
At the moment, we have a number of projects going on at all levels of the Clan.
When I took over as Aedile, I stressed my view that I thought it was important to stabilize HQD and ensure its members felt happy and fulfilled before focusing on the question of headcount. I think the recent success of Shadow Gate and Tyrant Sword are testament to the fact that we’ve done so. Now, we turn to the inevitable question of membership. With 34 members, we’re getting a fair share of new joins from random sources, and that’s terrific. However, if you are enjoying being a member of HQD, I would urge you to spread that joy to other people you know who love Star Wars. Tell them about the Brotherhood. Invite them to join. If all else fails, show them this. You’ll even get a shiny once they hit Neophyte - If you mentor them to Knight, you get another shiny. We’d love to see the roster hit 45 or 50. And as the House grows, it’ll need new Battleteams - opening up new leadership positions for all of you.
Nice going, all! Awesome work, Mirus! As my lovely Aedile stated, keep recruiting. The more members we have, the more leadership opportunities open up. But you don’t have to take on an official position to be a leader - Sign up to be a mentor to a Journeyman with our Rollmaster (Email Valtiere). Looking forward to seeing the stats of the awesomeness each of you pull off in the next month.
We’ve had a startling upset this month for the shiniest Qel-Droman. For the first time, Strategos is nowhere on the list! Instead, Nashiro Kakos has taken his place with a total of 31 points - nearly twice that of any other member! As a reward to Nashiro, we’ll be featuring him in the next month’s fiction, so stay tuned to see what sort of trouble the Corellian kid can get himself into.
