Hallo, my lektastic Qel-Dromites!
Thank you for your amazing contributions in the Clan event! I’m happy to announce that House Qel-Droma collectively took 6 out of the top 10 placements and by our efforts combined with our brothers and sisters in Galeres, the so-called Old Gods have been sent packing so hard their backsides are going to be needing an ice pack!
But while our focus has been on the core world of Selen, forces at home have been at work. As hinted at in prior reports, and their accompanying House Fictions, we have an Event going on! The forces of law and order are squaring off against mafia rules in a bitter fight for the future of Ol’val—or they would be, if someone hadn’t unleashed a rogue AI into our systems…
Read the fiction, do the comps, leave a mark in House Qel-Droma’s history and help shape its future! We’re implementing a submission-based voting system as part of this event, so each submission you make counts as a vote for which path we should take.
Depending on the outcome of Your efforts, Ol’val will either nervously edge closer to becoming a cough “respectable trading hub”, or optionally reinvigorate a feudal cartel culture to help spice up the varieties of illicit trade flowing through our shadowy port.
On the home front, I’ve been pleased to see the weather warming and sidewalks de-icing, which means newfound freedom to go jogging once again! As the days grow longer, nature seems to be implying it’s time to get into shape and shed all those winter fat reserves! Gymward-ho!
I hope you’re all enjoying the mysterious light phenomenon in the sky, and get to make the most of these comps!
Signed, Your Lekhead
Hello fellow Qel-Dromans!
Congrats to all those who participated in the Blood on the Ice event. Hope you all enjoyed the event. As it were we are going from one event to the next! As Tali mentioned above, check out the most recent House fictions to get caught up and above that have fun!
Now on to the fun stuff below and new holder of the Blind Key…
Sending good vibes for the month of April.

“They didt vhat?!” Tali spat as Enforcer-Captain D’Sylva finished his report. “Andt you didt nothing to stop them?”
“They did not break the peace, ma’am,” D’Sylva replied curtly. “They took them alive, and by our best knowledge, both Paladins are still alive—to a degree.”
Tali looked like she was about to give him some poorly-chosen words, but thought better of it, instead burying her head in her hands and sighing deeply. “Vhat are our options?”
“For what, ma’am? If anything, the Cartel has done us a favor,” D’Sylva stated. Her glance prompted explanation. “Two powers cannot co-exist over the same turf. It’s either us, or them. With the cartels backed into a corner, we’re in charge. We keep the peace on Ol’val—to the extent we’re supposed to.”
“You keep people from killing each other,” Tali interjected sharply.
“Yes, and that’s all we’re here to do. Ol’val doesn’t have courts or jails, just a long walk out a short airlock for murderers. Beyond that, we let the rabble sort themselves out.”
“So, vhere’s the problem? The Paladins vere sorting themselves out.”
“They were, but you think they’d have stopped fixing petty crime? The New Republic is just as bad as the Empire before it, and those Paladins want to impose their laws on us. We let them get a hold of our station, next thing we know, a strike force jumps in, storms the place, and we’re all living under their rules, answering to some bureaucrat in the Core who’s never done a day’s work in their life!”
Tali bit her tongue. She hated to admit it, but the Enforcer-Captain had a point. If the Paladins were allowed to operate as lawmen while Ol’val already had the Enforcers, it would inevitably lead to conflict of authority. And if they lost, they’d lose control of Ol’val. They’d not be ousted by some conniving crime syndicate or cartel treachery, but by ideologues promising safety and security.
“I see your point,” she admitted bitterly. “I’ll make sure the cartels know the Blind Man approves of their service.”
D’Sylva nodded and turned to leave when a sudden ping flashed on his wrist link. Another had appeared on Tali’s terminal. The line was short and to the point:
Paladins have landed in force. They’re assaulting the cartels.
