Heavy Breathing

So as Ive said before the TV is like 6 feet from my computer. I keep hearing the heavy breathing of Orcs followed by a slashing sound and more Orc chanting the usual weird Orc names. Its Juna playing Shadows of Mordor on the PS4. Its an awesome game, pick it up if you find it cheap. It was part of an early set of Birthday presents I was given. These also included a set of Black Edition MicroMachine vehicles and a few books. It also came with a photo op with Chewbacca (Posing as Peter Mayhew) and a chance to get an autograph from Vanessa Marshall. She's a voice in many Star Wars/Sci Fi games, and as Hera from Star Wars: Rebels. Though I got her to make it out to us (the DJB) and gave her some information about the group. Can't hurt to have a celebrity know about our corner of the internet.

Speaking of heavy breathing, the premier of Episode 7 is less than 90 days away. I've heard more rumors that some theater chains will be showing Ep1 through 6 in theaters in the weeks and days leading up to it. Also more claims that there will be an original release of the Original Trilogy, that is one that has no Special Edition stuff (No Hayden Christensen Ghost in RotJ!) Also we are just over a month out from the release of Battlefront. If you have BF2, Edgar Drachen from House Shan is running a competition for it and all Tier 2 game, but more on that later.

A bit of personal info, some news on awards, and a speech from me.

So I've always been a blunt one. I value honesty and truthfulness. I also place high regard on being a good leader and doing things in private. That being said, if I ever do anything that annoys or irritates you, bring it to me in a private email. Make sure you CC the PCON and CON. I have no problem working out an issue in private to both parties satisfaction. However if you call me out in public, I will do my damnedest to make things miserable, even for myself. I am not singling anyone out here. You lot are great at bringing my mistakes to light in the proper manner, and have not had an issue with anyone in Hoth, or COU. I'm just trying to make a point and head things off as well as a warning about how I am.

Getting to how I am. I am ornery and cranky on most days. Blame a car wreck where the frame crushed in and hit me on the head a few years back, and a few years in Law Enforcement for all that. However lately I've been pretty bad. Ive also been reclusive from alot of people. I've been in pain, constant and horrible pain. Hopefully come Wednesday that will end. I've got to have surgery done. Nothing major, takes about an hour and its outpatient. However I will be out of it until probably Friday. Anything major shoot Revak an email, just CC me on it. Hopefuly when I'm recovered I will be less of an ornery butthole.

So the awards part. It'll be short, but sweet. Alot of you have been exceedingly active without recognition for a few months now. With the assistance of Revak and Liam, I am rectifying that issue. If you've been active keep a watch on your mailbox over the next week. If you've been active and don't receive anything, you will at least get an email from me with an explanation. Be it that you need to do a bit more, or we are waiting on something possibly bigger. I love giving the big stuff out…...ugh that sounded weird.

New Star Wars mobile/tablet game has hit the shelves. Check out Star Wars: Uprising on your phone. I believe our initial Cartel (In game group) is full at 40 members. We do have another in the game running. If you need an invite shoot the FIST an email with the name of that Cartel Leader. Also feel free to add Seraphol to your friends list in game. I'm on there most days/evenings while on Medical Leave from work. I'd love to run some missions with people!

Odan-Urr News

Order of the Force Ascendant coming at the beginning of October. This will have us facing off against a group of Force Zealots that view us as an impure sect of Force users. Together we must show them that evil is shades of grey, not solely Black and White.

Check out Edgar Drachen’s Tier 2 Gaming Competition. This is a good chance to hone your skills at Battlefront if you have BF2. It also seems that the majority of the matches are played in BF2.

Check out my Imaginationland competition. It runs for a week and a half and involves either a short or long story of you writing about a mix of Star Wars and any of your favorite other genres together. For example, as a kid I used to love to think about how much more awesome (and easier) the Power Rangers would be with Lightsabers. Of if you want to get wicked, if the Power Rangers were Sith trying to kill Rita so THEY could take over the world. :D Any questions feel free to email me.

If you have a cell phone and want to chit chat with your clanmates check out Telegram. Its a free app that does not require your phone number to be listed with others. Once you sign up we can send you the link to join the COU page. It is PG-13 at the absolute worst as we do not allow nudity or offensive material. I'm not putting the link on here because it is easily found via google search and anyone can join and cause havoc.

Hoth News

Episode 3 of Butcher is set to kick off in a few days. This will see us going on the offensive against the Butcher and his tribe, Oko Olorun within the jungles of Rau Pouri.

We have been asked by the northern Rau Pouri tribes to help them see their caravans across the Hononum Desert. Seeing as they use packmule type animals to pull their cargo we are required to either ride or walk alongside the caravan. See them to their destination and try to ensure that the lives of the caravaneers survive. OOC: Go check out my Oregon Trail competition. It runs for 2 weeks. When you get to Oregon take a screenshot of your score and submit it via the competition page. Just a hint, the Banker gets the lowest score multiplier but is the easiest to play with. The Farmer gets the highest multiplier, but is the hardest to play.

As always I am seeking members Jedi Knight and above to mentor our new members. This is a position I take seriously as you are responsible for the lifeblood of the DJB. As Ive said before, you could have the next Grand Master in training. If you are interested send me an email. As an added note to this, if you're seeking a promotion, this is an awesome way for us to pad that recommendation to the MAA staff!

Oh ye Gods at the Star Wars stuff!

Unless you've been living under a rock, you’ve seen all the new, and pretty awesome Star Wars toys out. I've only gotten my hands on the Black Edition, Titanium Series ships. They are awesome and have got the Resistance X-Wing, Y-Wing, Falcon, and the new Star Destroyer (Looks alot like the Legends Star Destroyers, or ours, we should seek Disney out and form a pact for more members! :D) The X-Wing S-Foils are plastic and a bit flimsy, but otherwise it's a nice buy for $5 apiece. My next goals are the BB-8 remote droid (found it at Target for $90) and Poe’s Lego Xwing. All the Black Edition Stuff looks great, and my buddies son will be loaded down with toys for Xmas. Yes it will be a fight between me, him and his Dad on who gets to play with what first. I am a kid trapped in a 31 yr old’s body.

Also the new InfINity 3.0 series game for new console systems look great considering you can put Darth Vader in any Disney movie. I wanna show Elsa I can “Let it go” with a damned lightsaber down her throat.

The books look great, though I've only gotten to read the Tarken one. However I've seen 4 new ones at Books A Million. 3 for kids (Detailing stories about Luke, Leia, and one for Han and Chewie) and one that seems more of a romance Novel. The jacket reads something about 2 Imperials, the guy becomes disillusioned after Alderaan, and the woman who loves him being trapped between her love for him and her love for the Empire she swore to defend. It may be a good read, but I can't take all that sappy stuff.

As always, go and geek up. If you see someone reading a Star Wars book that you know. Say something to them about us. If you're gaming with someone who says they love the Star Wars games, and are looking forward to Battlefront, let them know about us. New blood is always a great thing, and our ability to recruit and to adapt past games from the ‘90s and take on new ideas is what makes us the premier Star Wars group on the web. So go and recruit.
