No fiction update this report because we are AT WAR!

I’m a photoshop n00b but it’s a work in progress. I’m sure after I post this graphic I’ll feel a disturbance in the Force from Mirus and V’yr collectively face-palming. There may be a graphic competition after Return of the Light for an official HOU HYPE! image for everyone to use and spam in website comments ;) Hint Hint

As far as news goes I’m just going to highlight a few major items in case you missed them:

• The MAA completed an AWOL check. KoA lost two members to the Rouges, PAD Ryan Neale and PRT Trakkar Sommelin, I wish you gentlemen well and there's always a spot for you on KoA when you can return. Though on the brighter side HOU is now the 2nd largest unit in the DJB and we have at least one member of the DC pulling for Clan Odan-Urr ;)

• The Fading Light ACC Tournament is about to start. More on the ACC below.

• Major changes are happening at the Shadow Academy, you can check out the updates below for more information. In case you missed the email chain, the Shadow Academy staff and HOU summit are looking for people to update the existing light side courses and contribute new ones. If you would like to get involved or have an idea for a new course contact the HOU summit and CC the Shadow Academy staff.

• Speaking of projects, the HOU wiki project is still on-going. Contact myself or A’lora if you want to get involved. You can check out the progress and see what is needed here. My progress has slowed down on this with Fading Light and real life getting in the way, but this project is a marathon and not a sprint. For those who already contributed to this critical project, Great work! For everyone else, contribute what you can when you can. I’m pretty good with wiki mark-up if you need something coded. The actual editing, updating and drafting of the content is the time consuming part. The HOU wiki belongs to all of us, let’s make it the envy of the DJB!

• Watch your email for details on HOU trivia coming back. I’ll start that thread soon but we’ll be looking for times that are good for everyone and volunteers to help run it. Details forthcoming.

Week 2. Get HYPED! This is the event we have all been waiting for, the campaign to re-take New Tython from the clutches of the Thuron monarchy. What happens here will shape HOU canon for years to come, so grab your lightsaber and make history!

ACC Update!

The ACC is live and running. The tournament bracket will be released soon but HOU couldn’t wait to jump into the fray. Without further ado here are the current and recently completed ACC battles with HOU members. Just let me grab my mic and switch to my announcer voice:

• PAD Seridan Brehavik vs. SC Revak Kur Victory Seridan Master vs. Student sparring match. Congrats Seridan on the victory and being the highest rated person in the ACC at the moment.
• CCL Solari vs. SWL Dacien Victae di Plagia Grab your popcorn folks! This promises to be epic. It’s dark side vs light side, headmaster vs headmaster. Go Solari!
• CCL Solari vs. CSE A'lora Kituri Rock vs. Tree…need I say more ;)
• JK Edgar Drachen vs. DJK Taranae Rhode We have a Jedi Knight vs Dark Jedi Knight double header. First up is Edgar vs Taranae! WE MUST PROTECT THIS HOUSE!!
• DJK Aiden Dru vs. PAD Turel Sorenn And last but not least is an ACC grudge match I’ll shamelessly plug. Dru called me a “filthy lighty” one too many times during a TOR raid so I challenged him to a match to teach him some manners. It’s all in good fun, but if you’re reading this Dru YOU’RE GOING DOWN!

We need more Knights!

I don't want to steal any thunder from the HOU summit but we can't rest on our laurels. Each and every one of us is a recruiter! Chances are you know someone in real life or from another online community who would love it here. Invite them to check out what we're all about and while you're at it re-post, re-tweet and re-whatever the Recruitment staff's content. Our very own Solari and Kaira are working hard to spread the HYPE! Help them out!

Another aspect of strength management that the DJB and HOU leaders haven't harped on as much about is retention. Reach out, make friends, welcome new people. This is a community and this community depends on thousands of individual social connections to function.

Real life and burnout sometimes take their toll but something as simple as reaching out (not nagging!) to a buddy to say "how's it going? I haven't seen you in a while" can go a long way. I know my "hetero-lifemate" Edgar and Mirus kept me motivated during the journey to Knighthood.

Anyway, I'll climb down from my soapbox and stow the 'cool story bro' content until next month.

I’ll be taking a leave of absence from 30 May to 16 June to put my company commander hat on and go off in the woods to do Army stuff with my National Guard unit. And yes, we are actually going to field so my access to email with be very limited during that time. Fret not Knights! Edgar will be covering down for me while I’m away and will do the June 15th report. Hopefully he can stay out of jail for that long ;)

I’m starting something new for my parting lulz, the quote of the month.
