Introduction and General News

I’ve returned from my leave of absence in one piece. Fading Light is still on-going and we are still recovering from Return of the Light so no fiction update this report but there will be one in a special report on July 1st. Oh and I brought back the neon sign for this month because we are between missions right now and I'm in the mood for a good stiff drink after two weeks in the field with my real life unit ;)

Time for some News:

• Jobs! - Plenty of opportunities out there. Apply for all the things! As of right now:

1. House Scholae Palatinae is looking for an Aedile Closing Date: 18 June
2. The Recruitment Office is looking for social media gurus Closing Date: 25 June
3. HOU needs wiki ninjas. The HOU wiki project is still on-going. Contact myself or A’lora if you want to get involved. You can check out the progress and see what is needed here.
4. I heard a dirty rumor that applications for ACC Judges would be going out soon. Polish up those resumes and get qualified.

• The Fading Light ACC Tournament continues. Congrats to everyone who fought the good fight in the first two rounds, there were some really tough match-ups. Let’s cheer on Revak and A’lora as they carry the HOU banner into round 3.

• The HOU summit is conducting some market research to make HOU even better. So take a few minutes and fill out the survey. It’s anonymous so be as honest as possible. It will help the summit create activities that you want.

• Last and most certainly not least the Knights of Allusis continuous run-on will launch on July 1st. There will be a mother competition that will run the rest of the year and sub-competitions for each month. KoA will receive a new mission each month. Stay tuned for more details.

Competitions

• Odan-Urr's Iron Man of Trivia – Do you have what it takes to take the Iron Man title away from me? DO YOU??

• Attention Architects! Now accepting bids for Olympic Complex! – Design the stadium for the upcoming Ooroo Olympics. I’ve been asked to remind everyone that this will be a family venue so entries of a blatantly phallic nature will not be selected for the final design ;)

• A Helping Hand – The Vard Mislu colony is in ruins and needs your help for resconstruction

• HOU Comedy Series - Turel's "Personal" LoA – Where did Turel go for two weeks? A scandalous rendezvous with a former ACC opponent? A quest to fulfill his dream of becoming a pony princess? A Jawa pride parade? The sky’s the limit and I know you all have twisted imaginations.

• GMRG Gorefest: June 2014 – Mark your calendars and rake in those clusters!

• There are Brotherhood wide competitions out there as well, be sure to check out the completions tab on the main page

Just do it!

There are a ton of opportunities out there to get plugged in and contribute to the club at large. I just listed all the vacant positions I’m aware of in the previous section. This is a very exciting time to be in HOU and the Brotherhood. Really you can go as far as you want to go if you’re willing to step up and do the work. Far more experienced members like Muz and Mirus have stated this much more eloquently than I could.

It’s like the old Nike commercials used to say, “Just Do It!” If you are passionate about something and want to get involved “Just Do It!” Seek out the experts in that area and volunteer, submit your ideas, apply for positions, just get out there. Your ideas may not get approved, you may get turned away or not selected. That’s ok! Keep going. Ask for help if you need someone to look at your idea proposal or position application, that’s what we’re here for.
