It’s that time of the month again…um…report time!

Jobs! – Apply for ALL THE THINGS!

• There is only one job posting as of the time of this report, but stay tuned to your email box for announcements. There are always opportunities popping up and the HOU summit will always try to highlight them for you.

• Clan Taldryan is looking for a new Quaestor for House Dinaari App due by 29 August – We are always a little sad to see talented members go to other units, but this a great leadership opportunity. So if you have what it takes to step up and lead (and don’t mind getting bent over a table every now and then) put an app together! Don’t hesitate to ask people in the House to look it over, we have some awesome leaders who know a thing or two about solid applications.

News from the Shadow Academy

It’s time for me put my professor robes on for a moment to recap some SA news:

• New Degrees, New Courses – Big things are happening in the Shadow Academy. Check out Dacien’s latest Headmaster Report. The History department has gone through a top to bottom revamp. The History Maven is now the Maven in Galactic History and a new Maven in Lore and Savant in History and Lore has been created. Crack those books!

• Combat Studies – A department very near and dear to my heart is undergoing heavy changes. Combat Studies I and II have been updated and published. The Lightsaber and Hand to hand courses are being completely re-written and a brand new combat studies course is in development whew. In fact, I probably should go work on Shadow Academy stuff after I publish this report.

• Leadership Rewards – Don’t forget the MAA’s competition for the unit with the highest ratio of people who have taken the course. It’s a very educational and painless course.

Gaming News, pwn the n00bs!

As your resident “Iron Man of Gaming” it’s my job to keep you in the know on what’s going on in the DJB gaming community.

• GOREFEST – The next Gorefest Weekend for GMRG members is 22-24 August. Don’t forget that is in GMT, so for those of us in the states it really runs Thursday evening through Sunday evening. Double clusters for PVP and PVE gaming so come out and get all the CFs.

• On-going Pazaak Tourney – Round 2 of the Pazaak Tournament ran by DJK Tarane Rhode and our very own JK Lu’aisha Gresee has arrived. Be sure to cheer on those still in the tournament and don’t miss your matches if you are still in. May be the Force be with you!

• Destiny Poll, aka the latest front in the Console War – Everyone is all aflutter about Destiny, the new MMO/Shooter hybrid from Bungie, the makers of the Halo series. I haven’t personally played it but everyone I know in the beta loves it. The FIST has started a clan for it and is running a poll to see which platforms people are picking it up on. I’m not jumping on the PS4/XB1 bandwagon yet so the poll will help me see which of my current gen consoles gets dusted off. The game will allegedly get released for PC sometime next year, which will make all of us in the “PC Gaming Master Race” happy :p

• TOR Operations – If you’re looking for endgame activity in TOR then be sure to check out the revamped DJB Enjin Site. There is a HM Eternity Vault run for those who need TOR Advanced (or are just feeling nostalgic) and every Tuesday we run a series of Story Mode 16 Man Operations for Comms, Gear and of course CFs. The run is TFB and SNV till the weekly bosses and DF full clear. This is all on the Imperial guild (we are the “Dark” Brotherhood after all) but I’d be more than happy to help set up a Light Side flashpoint night if people are interested.

• Iron Man wants you for SC2! – Starcraft II has seen a bit of a resurgence lately. I’d like to see that continue. If you have the game and haven’t played in a while, patch it up and come find us in #dbgaming. Just from HOU alone we have myself, Mirus, Seraphol, JScumm and Shorurra playing. And remember, “YOU MUST CONSTRUCT ADDITIONAL PYLONS!”

HOU HYPE!

• Liam’s Report is up in case you missed it (or it got buried in your email). Pay particular attention to the “Visions of the Future” section as it alludes to feuds with House Scholae Palatinae and Clan Plagueis in the foreseeable future. Next month we return to the New Tython storyline with a vengeance, this time focusing on unrest in the Geonosian Hive. The Knights of Allusis will see most of the direct action, so stay tuned and GET HYPED!

• The Fading Light ACC tournament is entering its final phase and that means that the final round of Fading Light is coming soonish. Prepare yourselves because it will have a more traditional span of offerings including fiction, graphics, gaming, etc. We need more ships and troops!

• A special shout out to KoA’s own Lu’aisha Gresee who has been on FIRE this past month, recruiting 5 people to the Brotherhood, winning 2 Pendants of Blood for highest PVP score and running the Brotherhood Wide Pazaak tournament. Be sure to give her a pat on the back when you see her.

Knights of Allusis Mission Files (Continuous Run-on) Update –

Part of being a leader is owning up to your mistakes. I’ll come out and say it, I kind of dropped the ball with the run-on. Updates were slow, I didn’t promote it enough, etc. But I learned some valuable lessons in how to host a run-on that I will carry into next month’s mission which will be epic.

The current mission has been extended to the end of the month to allow everyone to get their 2 posts in for their CIs. So be sure to check out the run-on thread and get your run-on!

Next month’s mission will be a high stakes battle involving the Geonosian hive, so stay tuned!

Comedy Month

Comedy Month is in full swing with some fun and relaxing comps. Find one that tickles your funny bone and jump in!

• Cluster Crazy! – Month long competition for most CFs, no registration necessary, just game!

• Sharks with Frickin Lazer Beams attached to their Heads – Runs until 8/31, design a Shark for NT that will be featured in Ooroo’s mission next month.

• The Office – Upcoming 8/22-8/28, write a short fiction about what goes on in the Summit office

• Also be sure to check out Mind of a Diamond, the latest in Liam’s Brotherhood wide Tales of the Jedi series.

• And last but most certainly not least, let me plug:

Monthly Rant: [Under Construction]

I need one of those “Under Construction” graphics from old 90s web pages (Angelfire anyone?). No rant this month. Shocking I know! As Liam’s report alluded, your House summit is hard at work on some really exciting changes. One of which will shape the way Battleteams function. You’ll see some polls put out and requests for feedback. Be sure to respond, your opinion matters. After all this is about you, the member, and making your experience the best, most awesome experience it can be. We are all here to have fun after all.
