M:Voice Report #3

header

Greetings!

Once again, I come to you with some news from my little corner of the DB. I have nothing particularly witty to say, and I’m fresh off of a nice vacation, so I’ll just get on with it.

Updates

First off, Idris has put out both a report and a supplemental that deal with clarifying and updating some policies, so go give them a read if you haven't already. Also, the long-awaited ACC Supplemental Society’s Judgment Path is now implemented. You can read about it in the latest Combat Master Report to learn more.

An important note for people wanting to play a hybrid species: when making your choices, keep in mind that both species must be from the approved species list. The wiki has been updated to clarify this policy.

Speaking of which…Fosh, Lonto, and Kyuzo have been added as playable species.

The Force power Blackness has been renamed to Darkness.

The Accelerated Healing feat has been updated to reflect that the first tier heals things in half the time as Healing would normally take, while the second tier heals things in a quarter of the time.

A new feat called Lightning Deflection I-III has been added into the system. It allows one to have an understanding of Force Lightning and be able to ground themselves to dissipate its energy by deflecting it into the ground in the first tier, away from them in an unaimed manner in the second tier, and away from them and at a specific target in the third tier. As always, how taxing these actions are and the amount of focus needed will vary depending on the tier. This feat was proposed by Hector Von Ricmore.

Deflect This, the feat available to Force users at JM4 that is needed to deflect and redirect blaster fire with lightsaber-resistant weapons (beskar, phrik, Sith alchemy) has been updated to include Blunt and Miscellaneous weapons in addition to Bladed weapons. This is simply catching up to the variety of such items available in the possessions system these days. As a reminder, this feat is available only to Force Users. The introduction of Force Sensitivity Points and NFUs having a limited access to Force powers does not change this. Only full Force Users have access to Force feats.

Jar'Kai has had its wording updated in an effort to make it more clear what weapons can be used together - either 2 one-handed bladed weapons or 2 one-handed lightsabers.

A new feat called Knuckle Fists has been added. It allows a character to use their MA skill level in place of their Misc. Weapons skill level when wielding knuckler weapons.

Other Things

First off, there’s been a little confusion about this a few times now, so I want to clear the air. If a species appears on the CS Guide on the wiki, it is available for anyone to use. The CS creator and sandbox are also good places to check if you’re not sure. Beyond that, please feel free to reach out to us and we’ll let you know.

Next, a little while back, a member came to me with a question about character slots that led to a brief discussion about something else, which then reminded me that I’d been meaning to check in with Idris about it. After doing so, confirming what I suspected, I bring it to you in the hopes that maybe it helps people that didn’t know about this before, or for the people that maybe forgot. The ACC can be used by any of your slotted characters. I'm not totally clear on the timing of it but I believe that the progression was roughly as follows: in the beginning, you could use the ACC with your main or what is now NPC Slot 2 (sometimes referred to as the Alt slot, which you can purchase at EQ1). People wanted more options, so eventually there was a toggle made for switching the various slots between Alt and NPC, with Alt being the one needed to use that character. Then that requirement was dropped to allow more freedom of use for people wanting to engage with the ACC with their various characters.

One other thing I wanted to touch on here relates to the use of AI. To be clear, using AI to help with making your Character Sheet is fine, we don’t have an issue with that. However, if that’s the route you want to take, please make sure you review it and that what you’re submitting is readable and understandable. That’s a must, whether you’re using AI or not.

That’s all for now. Until next time!

Thanks Rei for the report! Very informative

Begins plotting. Informative update, look forward to tinkering with a few of these Feats now.

Hi, ReiRei.

Ooooo

For those wondering I already tried a Hutt-hybrid and was denied. But I’ll keep fighting the good fight!

That's very disappointing about the hybrids.
