The auction seemed to be going smoothly. Bentre waited in anticipation as item sixteen was about to be presented on center stage, absent mindedly stroking his chin as the auctioneer closed out the current auction item.
“Next up for bid, an item found within the dark depths of the galaxy. An item that carries quite the attraction along with it.” the auctioneer spoke with such enthusiasm.
“An ancient holocron that was once thought lost. The contents of this holocron have not yet been discovered. The secrets it could contain may quite possibly change our universe!” the auctioneer dramatically stated.
“You have no idea.” Bentre muttered to himself.
“Bidding will begin at one million credits.”The assembled crowd gasped when they heard the opening bid. Bentre adjusted in his seat, “They know what they have?” he wondered, stroking his chin in consideration.
Bidding began immediately and it seemed the entire house was focused on the holocron. Within minutes the highest bid was nearly six million credits. Every bid that came to the auctioneer, the Consul would counter it with a higher bid of his own.
The rest of the team was settled on the house’s lower levels, keeping a keen eye out watching the other bidders and their nonverbals. How they worked their bid and their reactions to being out bid. As the price continued to increase, so did the Proconsul’s frustration.
Watching the bidding process all Sadowans were relaying who was bidding. Identifying which level and seat they were occupying. “Idiots are not even trying to be discreet about it,“ Tasha said. DarkHawk activated his comlink, “Sir, it seems we have ringers in the audience. They know what they have and they are just driving the price up. Stop bidding and let's just steal this thing.”
No reply.
The bid was now up over ten million, bidders continued to bid for their lives to garner this obvious coveted prize. Bentre continued to increase his bids with no hesitation as the price now steadily increased over twenty million credits.
Again, DarkHawk hailed his Consul, “Sir! Don’t let them draw you in, this is foolishness!”
Still no reply, not even a glance...
Credit to Proconsul Darkhawk and Sanguinius for providing the closing fiction (linked above) for Caper on the Hydian Way. I hope this March has found you all well, and especially hope you have been experiencing weather more lovely than we have up north!
The close of the Caper saw Locke Sonjie, Sanguinius Entar and Muz Ashen take 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, with nine of our Clan (and another member) participating over the course of the event. As ever, it was fun coming up with a story concept for you all and I hope that those who participated enjoyed this latest escapade. As ever, we have our Summit plotting and planning, but of course you don't have to go far.
Quaestor Malisane is currently running the Going Viking event for the Clan, which of course still has four days and some change left. I found the competitions on offer, which include fiction about a Raid, gaming, writing a viking victory song/poem, a viking themed flash game, a second viking AND beer themed flash game, a chance to show of your artistic skills depicting your character as a viking warrior, a third viking flash game which I won't spoil, a cooperative fiction competition and a Battleplan competition.
All in all it is a decent little spread, and I for one enjoyed taking part in most of it (though I am admittedly rubbish at Battleplans from a realism standpoint) and I feel certain that many of you will as well!
Beyond lifting up the closing week of the event, I also wanted to take a bit in this report to touch upon a bit of the sorts of activity that our members have been going about in the last couple of months.
Now, I won't be discussing the activity in depth, but I did want to hold up folks for the SORTS of things they are doing among the core activity pillars of our community. This does not dimish the non-incentivized part of Clan activity. It is just a little harder to pin a metric on the comraderie or fun.
So, I am going to go ahead and give this minor snapshot into the activity over the last two months in Clan Naga Sadow:

Now as I said in our last Blackguard Update report:
Those who win the previous months’ competition will serve as the Blackguards for the following month, and those who place in the top three of the year will serve as the next year’s Honor Guard.
Beyond giving the points from February and an updated leaderboard, I also wanted to add an extra incentive I added in last month: RP credit. Yes, participation in the Clan’s RP thread during a month will score an extra 3 points to a member’s score. This is basically similar to that of running a community event (like the Naga Sadow gaming that will be happening on weekends moving forward) as I feel that the activity in the RP thread encourages cooperation and community among our members. I have seen some interesting ideas discussed in the OOC thread. Roleplay is really a fertile creative garden I hope to see folks dive into more freely in the coming weeks, and also welcome those who would like to run an RP thread/adventure to give it a go! I for one would like to be able to get my RP itch scratched, and sometimes it can be hard to get my table together for DnD. (I mostly kid, but I wouldn’t say no if someone else wanted to run a thread!)
If you feel that activity in RP outside of our thread has gone unnoticed, just send myself and the Proconsul a quick note so we can check it out. We don’t want anyone’s contributions/fun to go unnoticed.
I would also like to point out that our weekend gaming sessions will also provide a time for some fun and camaraderie amongst Sadowans, as well as a chance to earn some Blackguard points and Clusters of Earth/Fire. So plenty of things to do together!
Now, I am sure that some might be a bit dissatisfied to know how the points stack up for just this month. To that end, I have included the current leaderboard for 2022’s Blackguard Trials:
For full transparency, Consul Stahoes and Proconsul Sadow have 1408 and 161 points year to date. I wait with anticipation to see a member pass my score in addition to within the Black Guard Trials! There are still some bounties from my last report that can still be claimed by members. This can be especially helpful for members who are looking for more ‘project’ sort of work, or who just want to contribute to the club/unit. I especially encourage our newer members to give the bounties a look. I always love seeing what fresh-eyed Noviates and Journeyman come up with!

First I would like to thank the Overlord for letting me get a couple of words into his report. We have discussed doing this over our tenures and I like being able to have a little extra bit of mouth diarrhea every now and again lol!
Next, whether it is said enough or not, I would like to send a huge thank you to everyone for your contributions over the last few weeks. The activity report the Boss has published today is as always, a solid grouping of data collected. I enjoy seeing the new folks in the mix, keep that up! The more activity the better! We have a lot of comps to choose from, let us not forget the cool Going VIking event HSD has given us! Plenty of time left to dive in on that and snag yourselves some shiny’s!
Two topics I want to take the opportunity to touch on real quick, which is feedback and support. Simply put, ALL of SUMMIT wishes to create and publish all the great content we can. We cannot do that without your support and feedback. If you want to see something different, if you have ideas, if you did not like this, or really liked that. Please let one of us know, we are trying to build an arena within CNS that accentuates the many facets of this universe we all love. That cannot be done without YOU! Your feedback and support is always welcomed and always needed. So make sure you check your mails, and Discord. I am notorious for sending out feedback questions via email. We actually do want to hear your suggestions, I know there are some of you sitting on some awesome ideas.
Until Next TIme….
DarkHawk
One of the things we have been plugging away at quietly in the background has been in regard to Planetary Assets. Now, with the influx of credits, the decision was made to give the Clan’s a bit of extra cash as part of the stipend we were given as a Clan. Part of that has already funded some purchases (reasonable and accounted for) that you can see on Sepros, Aeotheran and Tarthos. Oh, yeah and a small spaceport on Dentavii Prime!
Now, this is just a small start. Each unit is being given a start for Planetary Assets. And soon, the Houses will be given free reign and a bit of cash to start fleshing out your planets in Possessions.
Beyond the fiddling things like that, we are also going to try to continue to run community events, fun diversions, and…there are some fun surprises being refined that I hope will bring some interesting new conflicts to the interplay between club and clan fiction, and with it there should be some new opportunities for each of you to shine!
More than that, I hope that we can rock our corner of this galaxy far, far away together as a Clan and as a club. As always, stay awesome, CNS.
In Service, In Darkness,
Overlord of Naga Sadow
