Welcome to the latest Consul report, where we have lots to discuss as we approach GJW XII.
But first off, we’ll start with Clan news where I advertise what’s been going on, along with opening applications for Aedile of Marka Ragnos.
Macron and DarkHawk have run this event over the month of June, which saw approximately 40 entries across 6 competitions. Not a fantastic showing, but with it being a non war/vendetta event, I’m not too concerned. I’d like to thank Macron and DarkHawk for taking time out to run this event and I’m pleased to see DarkHawk get so involved under Macron’s tutelage. Macron is an old guard of Naga Sadow and has given up a lot of his time over the years to support the members.
Keep an eye out for an email from Macron/DarkHawk announcing the results of Abominations soon.
As I didn’t do a report at the start of the month, I’d also like to thank Jurdan for running his event, Pirates of the Aeotheran during May. This event saw 27 entries with 13 participants.
Erik Cato came 1st and I narrowly snuck in at 2nd place.
You can read Locke’s fiction entry that became canon for CNS here.
12 of you signed up and the battles have reigned for us to come to the final match between Aul and Locke to decide whom will become the Sword of Sadow and represent Naga Sadow in Phase II of the ACC event for GJW XII.
A big shout out to Kojiro who came third.
If you want to see the match as it unfolds, keep an eye on this link.
As you may have noticed, Muz has stepped down as Quaestor of Marka Ragnos. I’d like to thank you for his service to Naga Sadow these past 9 months. In his stead, Marka Ragnos’ Aedile, Kojiro aka Ophelia aka Tarryhyn aka Riku aka Raikou aka “insert name here” will be taking over the reins of Marka Ragnos as Quaestor.
As such, Kojiro is looking for an Aedile. Here’s what he’s looking for:
Applications are open DB-wide and need to be sent to the following people, myself ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]), Benny ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]), and Sang ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]) no later than 10PM GMT on the 9th of July.
There is no minimum rank or DB experience requirement, though having passed the Shadow Academy leadership courses will be a bonus for you. Be prepared to answer follow-on questions via email or telegram.
Thanks in advance,
Kojiro Keibatsu Quaestor of House Marka Ragnos
PS: Due to partner’s birthday I will be of limited availability between the dates of June 27th and July 1st. I will respond to any questions within 48 hours however, thank you.
I know that I mentioned this in my last report, but Naga Sadow has seen a massive influx of members playing this game. I thoroughly recommend it as a way to earn some Clusters of Earth. We’ve got people playing most days, so you’ll always have someone to play with. If you want to get into it and want to learn the ropes, don’t hesitate to hit me up and I’ll see about running through a few games with you and teaching you the ropes.
Since my last report, a lot of you got nice shiny medals or promotions. I’d just like to highlight a few of them!
Last but not least, Kojiro got promoted to Equite 3
Well done to all of you for your hard work. I’m sure we have plenty more medals to come!
As you may have noticed, we have a War coming!
It is due to start on the 1st August. The Dark Council is coming up with lots of fun competitions for you all to participate in as the Clans jockey to claim the title of “First Clan”. Arcona has won the last three, will this be their fourth win, or will another Clan take the win?!
Every entry you do will be worth points to the Naga Sadow, as the GJW rewards participation as well as winning competitions. You also have the chance to win Novae. I aim to add to my collection. Daddy needs some new Novae, baby!
You may have seen Marick’s latest post detailing Phase I of the ACC in the GJW.
If you haven’t, make sure you read it!
It also provides a [fiction prompt](https://discourse.darkjedibrotherhood.com/t/antei-combat-center-fiction-updates/1640/5 that leads into the official GJW storyline.
The winner of Phase I earns the chance to fight in Phase II, where the champions of each Clan will duke it out to earn the title of the best ACCer in this GJW.
In Farrin’s latest Headmaster Report, he tells us about the new Galactic History exams and a brand new Maven to be earned. As I mark the courses, I’m going to blatantly advertise them for you guys to do and to give me more exams to mark as I make my way to 1200 exams marked in total. Sadly, dbbot is way ahead of me! :(
You can find the new exams here.
As always, I include the ever popular Q&A section.
Benny asks: “Any words for folks experiencing their first Great Jedi War?”
Stay calm?
Great Jedi Wars are massive affairs where Clans duke it out for the right to boast about being the best Clan for the next couple of years. However, every little competition entry helps. If you’ve got 15 minutes spare, think about doing the trivia. Each entry earns us points, which definitely add up.
Arcona narrowly pipped Taldryan in GJW 9 by participation points and took that and ran with it for the next two GJWs.
Additionally, the total number of points is divided by the number of Clan members, so the more entries, the better our score.
If you have any problems with a competition, if you need something proofed, or you need to find a gaming partner, hit up one of the Summit or one of our captains. Each captain will focus on something in particular, like the ACC, the Run On or gaming. They’re there to help coordinate and assist you. They’ll also push for members to focus on the events.
No one is useless or worthless in a GJW, each of you have the potential to do well and win big. Go for it and don’t give up. We’re a family who supports one another and we want to have fun. But at the same time, I don’t want Naga Sadow to come in last place. Help me ensure that we don’t do that. ;)
Benny asks: “Is CNS remaining fictionally out of the Lotus-INQ struggle?”
The Clan as a whole is split into several factions. Those who support the Iron Throne, those who support the Lotus and those who don’t really care about either side and wish to stay neutral and focus on CNS affairs. As such, CNS is currently neutral as a Clan, but its members are free to support either side at this time. Once I know more about the storyline for the GJW and whether there are teams, etc, this may change.
Aul asks: “A while back there was a competition of sorts to give examples of how our characters would respond to certain situations. Did anything come of that in terms of writing fictions, for ACC etc?”
I haven’t used it yet myself due to not having written any fictions recently. I’ll have to use it in the near future however. I’ll make sure that it’s available for the rest of you too.
Aul asks: “How many new members have we had recently, for those of us who've been away? Are they in the MSP?”
We’ve had about 10-15 new members join us recently, thanks in part to Shimura and Lilith recruiting. Of those, 3 have stayed and are progressing through the Journeymen ranks.
I believe Erik and Joforth are signed up to the MSP and have been assigned Masters.
Aul asks:”how official is the title "Sword of Sadow"? Will it be represented on the dossier of whomever wins the Harrowing?”
It is an official CNS title, but it will not appear on your dossier as a title, as those are only given to the following:
Top 3 placements for GJWs/Vendettas, Sith Lords, Elders and Title Holders.
However, the Sword of Sadow will fictionally act as CNS’ champion and thus be seen much in the same way as Jaina was in the Extended Universe, when she was made the Sword of the Jedi.
Marcus asks: “What's your favorite and least favorite thing about CNS?”
The members. I love you all dearly, but you’re also all pains in the bum at times. Especially Kojiro and Locke. Because of that, I steal all of their kills of HotS to punish them.
Marcus asks: “How's the Summit doing without a Rollmaster?”
It’s doing just fine. We’ve only had a couple of Journeymen stay active, so while Bentre handles the MSP, the House Summits make sure their Journeymen get promoted when required, with Bentre ensuring the MSP is followed by the Masters and Students.
Marcus asks: “Say I'm a member who wants to do something more for their House/Clan/team, what should I do?” Ask.
Speak to your BTL/AED/QUA/PCON/CON.
Tell them what you want to do, ask if you can get involved. If you have ideas, speak to them about it. There is plenty of work to be done, I just need to have the spare time to do it. If you can provide it, then go for it. Most of it is wiki work atm, but take Macron and DarkHawk for example. They just ran the Abomination event. They came to me and said “Sang, we want to do an event.” As simple as that. We had some space on the calendar and it went ahead.
Additionally, you can put in a transfer request from the Rogues, hot shot.
Jurdan asks:”Is there anything that fictionally could cause you to leave the gray and go dark dark?”
No.
Evelynn asks: “With low membership in sub-units, how would you recommend addressing sub-unit progression in lore/unit events?”
I’d look at smaller progression and storylines. Focus on changing smaller bits instead of huge canon change. Try and engage the members in the story. At the same time, the members need to engage, otherwise why bother being in the Battleteam? I want members to have fun here, but I also want to give them rewards. I can’t do that if they’re not doing anything.
Marcinius asks: “How does the Clan Summit wish for us to write the ground units? (i.e. companies, battalions of infantry etc). What rank can lead what element? Thanks”
At the moment, we avoid giving direct command to members, due to their propensity to slaughter thousands of their own men. Fictionally, doing so would mean that member getting in the shit and being censured. That being said, NFU in the loyalist ranks could be given troops to command, but that would possibly be on a case to case basis and could see it be expanded out to all members having something that they could use, such as your House units.
Evelynn asks: “How does the official translation of Harry Potter's Magic Wand sound in French?”
Like a magic loaf of bread, Eve... (see translation below).
Baguette magique d'Harry Potter
Mactire asks: “Can we get another Jedi in the Clan to torment?”
Mactire asks: “What are your predictions for the upcoming war?”
Jokes aside, my predictions are that it’s all to play for. Any Clan could win this war. That’s the whole point. If you all get out there and kick butt, it could even be us taking the win. I’d love for that to happen!
Thanks for tuning in, make sure you get those applications for Aedile in!
That’s all from me folks, until next time.
Signed,
Augur Sanguinius Tsucyra Entar

First!
Also, join the dark side already, dammit.
Second! Wait.. I'm.. not really here. flails arms
(That's how this works, right?)
We'll make sure to make you proud by kicking butt!
Lol Marcus :p tbh, Rogue is really calm and quite. Quite the relaxing change from DJB normalcies.
Make who what proud now? Sounds like an impossible task, speaking from experience ;) Don't do anything to make others 'proud', it rarely pays off unless you suck some censored inbetween. Instead do things for yourself, wasting time on others isn't worth anything, specially in this atmosphere.
It's clobberin' time!
