Welcome to my latest Proconsul report, the first CNS report of 2017. Hopefully, the first of many. I’ve survived Christmas with the family without bashing my head in and gotten past New Year’s Eve by watching food porn with my friend and drinking prosecco. She and I are extremely cultured...God I need a new hobby. I hope you’ve all had a good holiday period and are looking forward at returning to work/school/dossing around (Malik).
As you may be aware from Locke’s last report, Aul has stepped down as Aedile of House Shar Dakhan and Darkblade is looking for a new minion to replace him. We’ve extended applications until the 4th January. We’ve received some great ones already, but I’d like to see who else feels they’re down for leadership in Naga Sadow. You can check out the original news post below.
Sadly Aul has resigned his position as Aedile of Shar Dakhan due to real life. I want to thank him for his service as my Aedile even though it was a brief one. We were able to discuss, plan and push out an event which I really enjoyed working with you on! I hope you fare well and that we can see you around in TG on occasions!
I am opening up applications for Aedile of House Shar Dakhan. This position is pretty important, as you are my go to man when we discuss events, plan things that need to be done or work on projects handed to us by the Summit. I work extremely close with my Aediles’ and try to provide them as much freedom as possible to allow them to grow, learn and develop their own skills to help them in future positions.
A little about working with me: I take your thoughts and opinions seriously and usually don’t make decisions without having discussed them with either you, or the House Summit first. I am open to suggestions, criticism and feedback if they are just and can provide the same should you wish so. I love my Aediles, special shoutout to Bentre and Aul, and I am confident in my abilities to reward you when you have earned it. In return all that I ask is the willingness to learn, be open to suggestions/feedback and to be active!
I will accept applications from all members of the DJB, not just from Naga Sadow. I encourage anyone who feels that they would like to work with me in forging a better House to apply.
Here’s what I’m looking for:
TIPS
Applications will be due to me at [Log in to view e-mail addresses], Locke at [Log in to view e-mail addresses], and Sang at [Log in to view e-mail addresses] no later than January 4th, but I reserve the right to appoint the positions before that date if I get an applicant that I feel is right for the job and can handle working with me.
The latest FIST Report is out, where Drac highlights the new Dark Council guards, goes over the gaming data from 2016, where Bentre, Evelyn/Aexod and Tasha all feature in the top 10 members in terms of gaming activity for 2016. Well done guys!!!
Farrin talks about the Shadow Academy’s audit in his latest report, where he tells everyone it’s finally completed and Marcus gets an Amethyst Kukri for doing work or something. About bloody time, boyo. Well done to Marcus on his AK and the CNS members serving as staff in the Shadow Academy for their hard work in 2016. The SA will potentially be seeing a restructure in the first quarter of 2017, but we can rely on Farrin and Marcus keeping us up to date on that.
Evant explains the new additions to the Possessions system and some things that have been taken away in his report.
Pravus has announced that the Rogue One Spoiler Ban will end on 6th January in the DB chat, so if you’ve not seen it by then, avoid the main chat at your own peril. Naga Sadow will keep up our policy of avoiding spoilers on movies in our channel, we don’t punish people for saying spoilers, but we do frown on any spoilers on the big movies until they’ve stopped showing at cinemas. For Rogue One, that’ll probably be at the end of January.
Our Deputy Grand Master, Mav, received a Golden Lightsaber for his services to the Club. The Golden Lightsaber is the highest sacramental award available to members of the Brotherhood. If you see Mav around and want to toady up to him, congratulate him.
Vyr aka Morgan aka Pirate Queen shows off new robes and weapons in her Herald Holiday Special Report. Some nice pieces in there, so take a look.
Finally, if you’re competing in the Rogue One Celebration RO, it has been extended to finish on the 7th January, so you’ve got a few days left to get your posts in.
I’m currently marking Transmogrification and hope to have the results out later today, once Locke agrees them with me. Locke and I will release part 2 later in the month.
Project S.P.E.C.I.A.L ended yesterday, so I’m looking forward to seeing who comes in the top three. It was a fun little event, which saw a great amount of competition over Pazaak’s RNG.
Marka Ragnos has just finished Part 5 of Siege of Heaven. These involve various events surrounding the recapture of the city of Kar Alabrek from dissident forces on Tarthos. They have written a lot of nice fiction supporting this, which can be found here.
Locke released a new fiction in his report a couple of weeks ago if you haven’t already read it.: A Shift in Focus. I was hoping to have the next portion for you in this report, but I failed you. It means that I’ll be whipping the upper Summit to complete it and have it out for you this week. If that fails, then I’ll have to be nice to Mactire for a day as a forfeit.
Locke explained the purpose of the fiction in his report, which I’m including below:
The purpose of this fiction is to begin a shift toward a new direction for the Clan. For a long time, we've just been Clan Naga Sadow, and there hasn't really been one main objective besides keeping the Sith Empire afloat. We (the Summit) aim to change that, and this fiction is just the beginning. To kinda summarize, I figured, Locke would realize military force wasn't going to work against Pravus, and look to something else. Our Clan is named for an ancient Sith Lord who relied on sorcery as well as their regular military to achieve their goals, and that's an inspiring approach that we (fictionally) think could help us.
To quote what Sang said, "it's basically like we're Indiana Jones in space." Wow, that sounds so much more cool than the Krath reference I was going to go with. :P
In general, this should make those of you who like alchemy, sorcery, treasure hunting, ancient knowledge, and other, similar things pretty happy. If you're not into those things, don't worry, it's not like this is the only thing we're going to do. It's kind of a helpful backdrop to explain what our leadership is trying to do and why, and provides something to tie events together for the Clan.
Your character may not agree with this approach and that's okay. In fact, we want to know, because that will make the story more interesting later on. While I hope to shape this into an identity that will help define and shape CNS for years to come, it's currently in it's beginning as the direction of one Consul, so we will see how it goes.
You may notice that not many people are in this first fiction. I wanted to get the ball rolling with something simple, but we do plan to include you guys in future updates. This is everyone's story, whether they're 100% into this idea, or their character thinks it is ludicrous, everyone still has a part, and we want to reflect that.
I won't give an exact timeline for the next part, but expect it by the end of the month.
As mentioned before, you've probably also noticed that most Clans have purchased their armed forces and those are officially listed on the Clan Possessions tab now. We have not yet. There are a couple of things we want to establish first, such as the fiction above. We also want to give you guys a chance to discuss the choices in light of this, so there will be that, too. You'll be getting an email in the next few days about this.
We're also working with Wally (our new Voice) to figure out what parts of our current forces to lose when and where, and other things like that. I don't plan to make too many major decisions on that front without consulting with you guys, so while a ship or two may disappear in a brilliant, fiery explosion, you don't have to worry about waking up to half the Orian System gone or anything like that.
The Summit has had their say on the last paragraph, so a list of ships, NPCs and targets of opportunity have gone to Wally for his next fiction update, so we’ll be buying our new fleet after that.
Locke didn’t do any Clan Questions in his report, so I thought I’d allow you heathens to ask some questions in this report. Of course, that meant I got several joke questions and a couple of serious ones. You can check them out below:
Sure, we could do so, but we need to find a Clan who would want to do it, make sure the DC hasn’t got any DB wide ACC tournaments on and see if Atra is happy for his staff to mark the few matches that don’t TO. We can certainly look into this if people are interested and promise me they’ll complete matches. I’m pretty terrible at doing that myself, so I’ll have to also promise to complete matches.
The Club operates on current canon, if they appear in Rebels, then I’m sure the Voice will be favourable to members requesting and putting forward a proposal for the Sith species to be included in character creation.
See above.
I didn’t hire you.
Surviving a year of dealing with Locke, I guess.
The Upper Summit doesn’t really communicate with the DC when it comes to DC competitions, other than expressing our interest in certain competitions during Vendettas/GJWs. Even then, they don’t have to listen to our preferences. Most of the time, the Upper Summit only has control over competitions run at a Clan, House and Battleteam level. The only way to balance activity types is to have something of everything in the large events, which often isn’t what happens, as the DC doesn’t want to spam competitions. That being said, they always do a Battleplan (which often comes down to how pretty it is), a Multimedia event, gaming, trivia, fiction, poetry, GFX and usually a codebreaker (James loves these and always runs one as Seneschal).
Mav said no. Naga Sadow does not support the Light Path. Malik is lucky because he and I pushed to be Jedi right at the start and offered great reasons. Mav and Pravus have said they will not allow Jedi in CNS, nor will it be likely that CNS will ever be Light Path due to our lore, history and the Sith we’re named after. Sorry.
Honestly? The latter. There is no preference taken into account.
I certainly can. CNS has just begun the first planning stages of a Co-Op event with Tarentum. I’m hoping that we can get this organised to take place in the first quarter of 2017, but it depends on how soon Fiction 3.0 comes out from the Voice, as it is planned to take place after that in the DB timeline.
We’re also taking on board your opinions about the outward projection of the Clan. I can’t say what option we’re going for, whether Dlarit returns, or we merge, etc, as I can’t make that final choice. I can say that as soon as that’s decided, we’ll get that up to date and then put out more and more fictions with members involved. It’s really quite hard to get these fictions done, as we struggle to make sure characters are done correctly and we’re also extremely busy in RL.
We do know that the GJW is planned for Summer 2017, so I’ll be writing up proper guides and tips to certain competitions types on how to get good scores during the first quarter of 2017 too.
Our wiki has been out of date for a while, but Armad, Darkblade and Bentre have been doing loads of work on this to bring pieces up to date. Darkblade has trawled through hundreds of pages to update our NPCs and locations, Armad has updated our timeline and other bits and pieces, and Bentre is our resident wiki guru.
We’re behind on Clan fiction updates, as I mentioned before, we’re quite busy at the moment with the holiday season. Once we all get settled back into work routines, we’ll get back on top of that, but if members want to volunteer their time to assist in the fiction writing, they’re more than welcome to do so.
Once we decide on our outward facing persona, our wiki will need updating further and when we get our new fleet, we’ll be needing a tonne of ship and squadron names along with the chance for the members to create their own NPCs and backgrounds for the ships. I’m sure some of these ships will be second hand and have an interesting history of service before they came into Sadowan hands.
It’s auto-determined by coding put in place by our Seneschal. However, if they’re recruited by someone and puts their recruiter’s pin in, they get placed in their recruiter’s sub unit.
It’s a mix, they are assigned a master after speaking to our Rollmaster to ensure that they have a working email address and are actually interested in completing the tasks to reach Knighthood. The Rollmaster then goes through our list of potential Masters and pairs the student with a master with similar interests and timezone.
I like crusts on sandwiches, when the bread is fresh. There’s grape jam? Wow...I’m certainly not spoiled enough here in the UK.
Maybe...
When Locke decides to tell me to do stuff and put an email out? Honestly, I’m afraid I can’t answer this, Qyreia, as I’m not sure if Locke has made a final choice yet. I’m guessing, if I pester him, that we’ll have it very soon. It will impact coming events on the type of competitions organised, the prompts and how we approach our enemies in the Dominion, the Inquisitorius, the ongoing “plague” and Sang’s attempts to sabotage Naga Sadow. It will affect how we approach the GJW, we’re hoping to push you guys to do competitions, provide you with comps you want and will do, once you’ve said you want them. In the past, we’ve asked, provided and not had any entries. CNS doesn’t seem to be a very competitive Clan, we’re more focused on having fun, developing our characters and just spending time shooting the shit. It’s something that I hope to change, but also keep aspects of it.
When I get bored of dossing around and want to do actual work?"
Thanks for your questions, activity and putting up with me as Proconsul this year. I hope 2017 will be fun for all of us. I also intend to push for answers on the questions I couldn’t properly answer.
Also, if you want to be Aedile, apply!

Wooo! Pester the locke! Also, there's a plague?!
My staff don't got a say in the matter! Bwahahahahaha.
Honestly though, I'm more than down with working to help clans so ACC events.
Awesome Report!:)
Congratulations Marcus! Well deserved. And Indiana Jones in space, great idea!
Here's to hoping we see more awesomeness coming out of Clan Naga Sadow! I am sure you will all have lots of exciting stories to tell with the new fictional direction. It's a pleasure serving you all. :)
