Meowdy y’all,

Deputy Bril here signing on to give all my fellow Marshals and Arconans an update on how things have been going, things I have planned for the Marshals, and a bit of data talk.

Today marks my 30th day in this new position of Battleteam Leader (it doesn’t seem like it’s been that long). Most of my time so far has been spent looking over the resources meant to help me get up to speed with what it means to serve as a summit member, what my responsibilities are, and how to carry out those responsibilities. It’s been fun; I enjoy learning new things, and my fellow summiteers have given me plenty of opportunity to do so.

Speaking of learning, I took it upon myself to create a poll to gauge team members’ interest in various kinds of missions/stories. After discussing it with other members of the summit, we agreed that a narrowing of the vision for what the Marshals will be was necessary, so I made sure to keep the options similar to each other while also keeping in mind the visions previous Deputies had for the Battleteam. The request I posed was:

“Please specify the types of missions you would like the Marshals to undertake.”

• Law Enforcement Support

• Counterinsurgency Operations

• Disaster Response

• Humanitarian Assistance

• Military Operations

• Search and Rescue

• Exploration

• Peacekeeping Missions

Once everyone had answered, I tabulated the results to help visualize what they were most interested in.

As you can see, the type of missions people are most interested in is “Law Enforcement Support.” Now, the polling results aren’t “winner take all”, which is to say that the most voted option isn’t going to be the * only * kind of missions I intend to craft for the Marshals. I want to accommodate everyone on my battleteam, so I intend to create stories that involve all of the options I listed, and the answers provided in the open response question of the poll.

In order to drum up activity in the team while I continue adjusting to my new role, I decided to create a casual roleplay not so creatively named “First of Many.” My goal was to give long standing members of the team and those interested in becoming members an opportunity to interact with another both IC and OOC. So far, everything’s been going great! I’m happy to see some of our team’s senior members (shout out to Karran and Kaled) popping up again and hitting the ground running with the roleplay. And getting to read all of these characters interacting with one another has been a treat.

Now, with that out of the way, let’s get to some news!

The Happenings

• In exciting news from our sister House, Qel-Droma, my favorite crumb Jenni/Sofila has been promoted to the position of Quaestor! So let’s give her a huge round of applause and wish her well in this new, exciting step in leadership she’s taken. And also thank Tali for all the work he’s done as Quaestor.
• In other exciting news, our beloved former Proconsul Atty has been working alongside our current Consul Zuza and Proconsul Diy to create an inter-clan roleplay titled, “A Mother’s Love.”

Arcona has requested the aid of fellow Clans Taldryan, Odan-Urr, and Naga Sadow in culling the population of Caxqettes—chimeric Sith war beasts created by Alla’su, an ancient and powerful Force user and one of many worshiped by the natives of Selen. Expect some good ol’ fashioned terror and body horror in this one! If you want to take part or even just spectate, you’ll be able to find the roleplay posting by typing “/rp list” in the main channels of each of the aforementioned clans.

“A Mother’s Love” will run until March 15th, at which point the official clan event that this roleplay serves as a prelude to will begin. More details to be announced.

Final notes and Takeaways:

Big things are coming up for the battleteam and the clan as a whole, and I’m looking forward to seeing all of you taking part. If you have a character that you think would be a good fit for the Marshals or are interested in taking part but aren’t sure who would be a good fit, don’t hesitate to approach me or one of your fellow clanmates! I especially love helping people work on character “builds” and narrative tie-ins, so I would be happy to help.

And don’t be afraid to hop into the big clan roleplays and the upcoming clan events. I definitely will be taking part, so I hope to see you all taking part. Expect a gentle push from me here and there to help you all engage, but always remember to only do what you can, when you can. No need to force yourself to do anything on my account.
