Greetings my fellow Odanites and onlookers from the Dark Side,

Welcome to the August COU PCON report. I’ve said it a bunch of places now but I will say again how incredibly humbled I am to once again be asked to follow in V’yrs footsteps (or is it root-steps?) as a key leader in the Clan. Every hiring decision is a risk and my case was definitely not an exception. A’lora and the Dark Council took a not insignificant chance on me and I will endeavor every day to earn it.

I have a shout-out to Arcona toward the end of the report, so stay tuned.

Without further ado, here is the news...

News

• If you haven’t already, be sure to pat A’lora on the back and read the reccs for his first shiny stabby thing for his kick ass work as the COU CON and M:HRLD. Great work boss!

• The GM and DGM are accepting applications for the Consul of Plagueis Applications close on 15 August but don’t wait!

• Sarin pulls back the curtain on the upcoming changes to the mysterious Star Chamber in the GM Report.

• If you’ve noticed the very sleek changes to the site design, you should thank Vyr and Jamez for their hard work. Also check out V’yrs latest Herald report where he promised me a Pony princess for my robe slot (All I have to do is become Herald!)

• You will delighted to know that Mav survived his sojourn into nature and was not eaten by bears. In his latest DGM report he lays out more information about the new paths A’lora referred to in his last report. Here is an overview prepared by Selika Roh:

• JK Darkynte got a shout out in Bubba’s HM report as the top exam taker for July. Great job! TAKE ALL THE EXAMS!

• Evant detailed new Cluster of Ice procedures (for those of you who run fiction comps) and teased the fiction society.

• We in COU are spoiled by our wonder rollmaster Nathan who stays on top of all the awards. However, I would highly highly reccomend current leaders and those interested in leadership pay attention to the latest MAA report to stay up on what seperates a good recc from a bad one. Bad reccs make the Panda sad. Also, MAA Avengers assemble!

Character Sheets, the ACC and You

Alright, if you haven’t read it already you need to stop and read Wally’s report on the launch of CS 2.0. I can’t tell you how exciting this all is, A’lora, Nathan and myself have worked on CS 2.0 in various capacities for the past few months (though both of them did a tremendous amount of work, give them and the rest of the team a pat on the back). Additionally, for you Guardians and Consulars out there the skill and Force power points we all get are now equal. So the old +3/-3 and -3/+3 for those orders are now gone in preparation for the new paths. If you see a “invalid character sheet” message then that’s probably what it’s over.

If you have any questions on CS 2.0 or need advice on building your character sheet or custom aspects (everyone should try to get custom aspects) then you can hit A’lora, Nathan or myself up. If we don’t know the answer, we’ll get it for you. I already got my sheet updated for 2.0. Here are the resources for CS 2.0:

The launch of CS 2.0 means that the ACC will soon be back in full swing. Wally has teased a DB-wide ACC related competition in the very near future. The ACC is really fun and unique activity we have in the club. It can be daunting at first but don’t be afraid to take those matches and ask for advice or proofing.

Those who were around for the last DB-wide ACC tourney know that it takes a village...erm...a Clan to make a champion. What do I mean by that? Well, serious ACC’ers won’t post anything until it’s been proofed by at least one or two people. That means we have to be willing to help each other out, bounce ideas and just give encouragement. Grammar nazis are worth their weight in gold (love ya Sista). Yay teamwork!

I’m willing to look over anything you have ACC related and I’m sure many others in Clan are as well. Just ask on Telegram, IRC or the mailer. Though, try to avoid asking for proofing at the last minute. There’s no reason why the next ACC champion shouldn’t be a light sider :P

Visions of the Future

• I would like to launch COU Gaming Nights for us to get together and play whatever the game of the week is soon. I’m still running the poll to gauge interest and get some time slots set up. Your responses will help us determine when and what to play. Watch your email for further details.

• My main priority right now (gotta earn that PCON pay) is to get the wiki tracker updated and most importantly ensuring the synopsis pages are written for all our past events. We are also putting together a succinct summary of Clan lore for newcomer and old hand alike. Our story has grown so much in the past year, we want to make it as accessible as possible for people to jump right in. Here is the tracker 2.0 I’ve been working on. When it’s done I want to tracker to be a tool anyone can use. I’m not looking for wiki volunteers just yet, but I will approach key individuals (mostly past and present leaders) on the synopsis pages.

• As A’lora has alluded to, the planning has already started for the next Clan event which will kick off an exciting new chapter in our lore. I don’t have anything I’m allowed to share yet, but expect fictional teasers in the near future. Also, if you have any feedback on what you’d like to see event-wise from the next event don’t hesitate to let us know.

• Expect more detailed plans and projects from me in my next report as I work through the items on my to-do list. I will leave you with what I see as the endstate or major goal I’m working toward, Clan Odan-Urr as the First Clan of the Brotherhood. Can you imagine it? Well people couldn’t imagine a Light Side Clan in the Dark Brotherhood at one time. Is it crazy? I don’t think so. I firmly believe we are fully capable. Odan-Urr is a sleeping giant, we have the latent talent, we have the young blood coming in, we only need bring it all together and shatter people’s expectations the way we always have.

Competitions

• [Odan-Urr] Wargames - All the clusters! Also Gorefest is this coming weekend. Just remember to follow the good guy / girl rule.

• Knowledge is Power, Guard it Well - Do you need that extra push to finish those Shadow Academy courses and degrees you've been working on? Well here's your chance!

• Flora/Fauna Series: The Predators and Flora/Fauna Series: The Herbivores give you a chance to flesh out the wildlife of our ever growing home planet. Crickey! She’s a beauty (too soon?)

• Also, don't forget the [Odan-Urr] [Comedy Series] Summer Fun comps are still sizzling. You have until the 17th.

• The [Hoth] Legends of Hoth: The Butcher of Kamuekiko enters its second Episode this week. If you’re part of the awesomeness of House Hoth be sure to check it out and shape the future of House lore.

• Wanted Dead or Alive - A great fiction for House Hoth where you catch a killer. Bon Jovi solos are optional WAAANTED, DEAD OR ALLLLIVE.

Andrelious - As one of the DB's most fervant lighties, do you feel the changes coming will make it more fun to play a light sided character?

Yes because the changes will cause most clans will take a more nuanced approach to paths. I mean Arcona has a pseudo Lightie Shadow Lady :P Conflict, especially over ideology makes for fun stories.

Family isn’t bound by location, I’m still around guys. In fact I just returned from visiting a young woman in another state who bears a striking resemblance to the Shadow Lady :P . But to all the people who asked the ohana question…
