We have a lot of news to cover today so without further ado….

News

• Herald - Big news from our pirate queen Herald in the form of a brand new cluster to whore yourself out for. Introducing the Cluster of Graphite which will be awarded for Herald approved graphics comps and for other graphics-related services to the Brotherhood. To help members get these new cluster the Herald staff is running a series of competitions starting on Friday (links below in the competition section). And if that wasn’t enough, there’s a juicy fiction update detailing the rise of Morgan.

• Combat Master - NFUs got a whole new slate of character disciplines in Wally’s latest report. This has led to massive outbreak of NFU envy across the DB :P Seriously, go check them out.

• Fist - The Telegram fist bot is now live! There is also a Fistomatic course to help with using the new bot. Get out there and get those clusters!

• Possessions Beta! - Need I say more? Go sign up! Buy all the things!

• CI policy change - The Cluster of Ice policy has had a major update recently. Most notably is the requirement that CI fictions being Star Wars-based. I will miss reading all those fantasy crossovers.

Homecoming

The Homecoming event still has five events ongoing. Don’t wait until the last minute to get the entries in. I hope everyone has enjoyed the chance to explore and flesh out our shiny new system. We’ll have a detailed breakdown of participation and the winners once the grading is finished but so far the creativity and enthusiasm you guys have shown has been nothing short of inspiring. I have no doubt that Kiast will become just as rich and personal to all of us as New Tython was in a very short time.

Visions of the Future

This report marks my one year anniversary as Proconsul (give or take a few days). Before I talk about where we are going as a Clan I would like to take a moment and reflect on where we have been in the past year. The Odan-Urr I joined in my first days in the DB was an independent House. Clanhood was something that was whispered of, something to strive for. Fast forward to today and we have taken our place as one of the leading Clans of the Brotherhood. We held the first honest-to-goodness feud in ages. We boldly lead the way in the modern Brotherhood, giving up a home we had all come to love to forge a new path that allows us to fulfill our potential as the first light side Clan.

I just want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for your enthusiasm, for your encouragement and for your patience with us, the Clan leaders. I don’t think any other Clan in the Brotherhood could have done what we did and done it as smoothly. Almost without exception, members ranging from the newest join to our oldest founders embraced our new identity and dove headfirst into building up our new home. One of things I love about this Clan is that’s who we are, we challenge the status quo, we empower our member base, we encourage each other and we drive forward. We honor what has come before, but always with an eye toward the future and the potential of every single member to contribute to our lore.

Style-wise I need to break up this block o’ text with something...so here’s a gnome vomiting a rainbow for no reason.

Okay, so I recently binge watched Gravity Falls.

So what lies ahead? Let me give you a preview of coming attractions:

• Arcia and Mako are finishing up a inter-House event that will have Hoth and Shan competing for bragging rights and a fictional goodie or two.

• Roughly around September I will re-launch the Sentinel Network series of Clan events with our first off-world mission against the Inquisition. This will include a mass run-on of some kind. Also, the Clan will run up against a formidable (and recurring) foe. Dun. Dun. Duuuuun. The goal is to make the event fun and have some stakes.

• After the SenNet event and some time for House/Team activities we will return for part II of Homecoming which will ramp up the action some. I can’t spoil anything but I have two words: sky pirates.

That should take us well into the fall and into either the GJW or a feud/coop event of some sort. Part of the SenNet event will be the re-founding of SenNet in our new home both in character and out. Also, Arch and his crew will get a chance at reforming the military once Clan possessions goes live. Plenty of opportunities to help build our home and shape the future both at the Clan and House levels.

Next month, if not part of the inter-House event then a separate one will be ran.

Lexic - #AskTurel Now that you have escaped the Brotherhood's reaches, will you teach the ways of the Guardian, Consular and Sentinel like you used to? Or are they still frowned upon?

Quite the contrary, the traditions are still alive and well. Sentinels in particular will play a role in our on-going resistance movement. The difference is now such specializations are optional for character flavor. I changed Turel to a Sentinel and it's become a big part of who he is and the role he plays. Also, NFUs and Grays can become adherents as well.

Xolarin - #AskTurel What is the question to the answer to life, the universe, and everything, that has been found to be "42"?

Xolarin - #AskTurel (more seriously) Where is the best place to read a synopsis of the escape and resistance, for us newcomers especially?

The Clan update Resistance and the DB update A New Order are the two biggest ficton updates along with the latest for Homecoming. We are working on a condensed “story so far” that’s no more than a page for people to reference on the wiki.

Well the current Clan event is all about expanding Kiast lore and A'lora and I will use stuff you've written in upcoming reports. So DO EEET! #shamelessplug. The inclusion of NFUs is already a thing but you'll see it more front and center in the upcoming SenNet event.

Atra - #AskTurel As diamond is forged through the crushing forces inflicted upon it, has COU not grown stronger due to the razing of New Tython? Should you not be thanking the Brotherhood for the furnace it has provided to temper your steel?

No seriously...I'll make sure to send Pravus a gift basket for "helping" us become stronger.

Lexic - #AskTurel Does the Kiast Empress see the newcoming Jedi as peacekeepers? What's her view on their lifestyle and choices?

That's not entirely clear yet and will unfold over time. I would say her motives for granting COU sanctuary / residence in Kiast are not entirely altruistic.

Nero - #AskTurel With the new movie right around the corner, what are you most excited for?

A Star Wars story without glowbats. Rogue One looks awesome and a actual grunt's eye view of the larger war.
