Odan-Urr Report #1: The Eagle has Landed

"Aren't you at least bothered by the gambit I played, Master Jedi? Allowing the Dissenters to have their voice heard in the Forum, without reprisal and forcing their compatriots to listen to them in mutual ground?" Kaltani mused as she paced the Botanical Gardens, a few strides ahead of her retainers, the Jedi Master, Masahiro, her liaison to the Temple, and one of her handmaidens, Aila.

The Empress stole a glance over her shoulder, inspecting the half-Arkanian man as he sighed and shrugged, his robes adjusting with the motion and straightening out. She, of course, had referenced the reformation of House Hoth, now a recognized member of the Vatali Conclave, alongside House Sunrider, entitled to lands, diplomatic standards, and protections due within The Empire. To her it had been an amusing game, interceding in the matters of the Jedi, as they had for the last decade interceded in the matters of her Empire. The amused expression that came after the half-Arkanian's sigh caused her a moment of reconsideration.

"One of your closest allies, yet, also one of your biggest threats, was Alethia, right? Have you considered that long ago she painted you into a corner, Empress Anasaye?" The Jedi questioned as he came alongside the Empress and leaned on the rail, overlooking the lowered portion of the garden and the creek within, silver-green eyes watched as small insects and imported fish danced in the creek.

"A political gambit here, reinforcements there, a stalwart ally when, at your lowest, you absolutely needed one. You're starting to act just like her. Wheeling and dealing, to turn the tables in your own favor," the Jedi chuckled and let out a soft whistle, blowing his hair out of his eyes, "but unlike her, you don't quite understand the game on the table, yet you've done well to adapt to the rules, giving the Quorahi a seat in the Conclave to prevent another uprising, using the Houses to rebuild the desolate surface of Daleem and expand their influence, and 'splitting' the influence of Odan-Urr, all the while diluting your own influence."

"Every empire grows until its reach exceeds its grasp, if I keep my political allies and threats within grasp, I do not have to worry about the reach of their arms, Master Jedi, just their means." The Kaltani quipped as she pushed herself back from the railing.

"I don't understand you, Haku, you're willing to speak on the flaws of the Empire and of me, personally, yet, you do so without treating me as if I were a child. You don't admonish me for stirring dissention in your ranks, but instead remind me of that which exists in my own House. What exactly do you serve?" She questioned as the sound of impossibly heavy boots began to echo through the atrium of the gardens, causing the Jedi to step around the Empress and place a hand on the saberpike on the small of his back.

As he cleared space from the Empress a woman in full golden armor, bedecked with golden wings, and long blonde hair, broke stride, turning to face him. The former Knight Commander of the Knights of Allusis, Lady Yuki Suoh, rushing headlong afore her successor.

"Master Haku, there's been an incident. The Council is convening and they're commanding your presence. The Peacekeeper has been lost en route to Quermia, with the High Councilor aboard..."

Serotonia:

Hello World! Most of you know me as Wolfe or Wulfram (Armis), the prolific recruiter who has brought some new and shall we say vibrant life across the Brotherhood over the last year and a half, with 25 recruits across Odan-Urr and Arcona, making noise and adjusting the landscape in their own ways. I've found myself in a place I didn't expect for at least another year or so, that is, officially leading Clan Odan-Urr, and it's still coming with some adjustments. Over the last seven months I've been working behind the scenes as PCON, updating our Order of Battle, various DJB Wiki Articles, as well as developing our current storyline, the yearlong Western Marches Campaign (with the help of our own Tisto Kingang), working alongside our members to actively take part in Arcona's 'Tonight We Dine in Brimstone' event series (woo, cross-Clan events!), as well as training our newest generation of recruits with some of the best support staff, official and unofficial, I could have asked for.

Space Truckin':

There's plans afoot for the future of Odan-Urr, several of which have been underway for a short while already, including the development of our training pipeline, to introduce new members to things from their first competitions on to developing leadership skills for the future of The Brotherhood; new Narrative Campaigns, at both the Clan and House levels, to drive activity, diversify stories with the input of our members, and reward member driven, as well as narrative based, units for actions taken in their name over time; and on the horizon, more routine Roleplays coming out of our corner of the Galaxy. (I'm finally going to let Jack run some Slice-of-Life RP, since he's been begging for them.)

To Them These Streets Belong:

I am proud to announce one of the first major plans that has taken root and has begun to bear fruit under it's own due course, the return of Odan-Urr's Houses. Narratively distinct Houses, split under the differences of ideology and how best to represent their ideals and merits under the veneer of the Vatali Empire in Kiast, these Houses serve as the basis of an internal month-to-month competition, each vying to achieve higher scores towards various metrics than the other in trade for points towards alliance and allegiance of the other Noble Houses of Kiast. The Scions (Quaestors) of our Houses, Tisto of House Hoth, and Mihoshi of House Sunrider, have been instrumental in helping teach, develop, and research ideas for the various projects going on within Odan-Urr currently, and will soon be choosing the first Battle Team Leaders of their individual Houses, as well as running their own individual stories, within the greater scheme.

PCON

I'm looking for someone to replace, well, myself.
And I'm going to give my Proconsul applicants a warning ahead of time, I'm an exacting business partner. In my brief tenure as Proconsul I automated our Monthly scoring sheet for The Scimitar of Lord Hoth, communicated back and forth with The Council as needed, routinely rounded up and worked alongside our members to identify weakspots in membership retention, activity, and learned just what activities best suited those who were and were not currently active to help make Odan-Urr an active place in every measure we possibly could, and relayed this information to the rest of our staff on a regular basis, as well as helped our Battle Team Leaders train our newest generation of recruits. I am looking for someone who can and will work at my speed, collaborate with our Quaestors, and with myself to develop future plans for Odan-Urr, and to work alongside our peers on cross-Clan projects.

I expect, at a minimum, my Proconsul to be familiar with the Proconsul's Handbook, as these are the core responsibilities of the job, and have a drive for routine project work to prevent stagnancy within the Clan.

I'll be accepting emails for the position until 8/1/2024:
There will be no expectations for rank or experience, however, I would prefer some leadership experience, and knowledge of Clan Odan-Urr definitely helps. Your application should focus on the responsibilities of a Proconsul, what type of leader you plan to be, and how you would approach leading the members of Clan Odan-Urr. A 30/60/90 plan of action, where you plan to be, and what integration plans you have/what you would like to bring into the current metric of COU would also be appreciated, but is not required.

Separate Ways:

Normally I would sign off my monthly reports with an upbeat laugh track of all the COU-Run Competitions, as well as our Member-Driven Competitions, followed by all of the news since my last report, but this week I haven't quite recovered yet, so I'll stick with the news, and stick the compiled competition list to Jack's Quaestor Report. There's definitely a lot of Shuffle-shuffle-shuffle going on across the Brotherhood right now, for a variety reasons, as they say: "GM always hiring."
