Quermia Influence 2b

Stand Up and Fight:

The efforts of the Acolytes of Urr are clear across the Southwestern Continent of Quermia, nearly doubling their spheres of influence, initially by diplomacy and later by force, as the Vauzem launched a surprise assault against the Jedi and the planetary Government. Refusing to retreat or leave the Quermians to their own devices the Odanites have stood tall against a familiar foe, even in the face of a disheartening realization as the ODN Peacekeeper Flagship of the O.U.S.C. First Fleet was brought to Quermia under the control of the Dominion. Those awaiting support from the Third Fleet's Expeditionary Strike Group feared the worst until the Naval vessels broke through Warp and engaged with the Vauzem Fleet in low orbit in the early morning hours. By mid-day, O.U.S.C. Marine and Army personnel would be making landfall and staging operations to secure beachheads of their own.

Guns of Summer:

Diplomacy Failed us, pure and simple, whether it was the lack of information presented to us on arrival, old rivalries between the remnants of the Vauzem Dominion and the Vatali Empire, or if Baron Uvam and his forces never intended to negotiate in good faith in the first place. As Governor Tierra Suha'sen attempted to come to an understanding with the Sephi Diplomat Tal Thavna, the smug diplomat worked to undermine the competence of the Quermian people as a whole, blaming the failures of the local architecture and 'insurgent attacks' on the people who were under siege, using this and several other peace talks arranged in several major settlements to stall and distract the Odanites from several operations throughout Quermia.
(As Witnessed in: Diplomatic Ties)

Where the Jedi had gone to ground in attempts to provide material aid found the truth, the Vauzem were not the 'benevolent saviors' they had portrayed themselves as upon arrival, as the newly appointed Proconsul and Councilor of War, Mihoshi Keibatsu found in short order. With hostile forces marching upon the city, Praxeum Battlemaster Waza Sunrider attempted to usher the Diplomatic Corps Padawan to the safety of The Trenzalore and out of the conflict zone, falling victim to the Vauzem forces as they began a blanket bombardment of the Spaceport...

At the Opera Tonight:

The Acolytes of Urr are nothing if not resilient, however, while the diplomats fought one battle, members of the Sentinel Network and the Guardian Corps took to the streets and fought for the hearts and minds of the Quermians. Despite the Vauzem Dominion airing the demolition of the Spaceport as a Jedi-backed separatist attack, the Odanites took to a familiar fight. Afield, Ryan Hawkin and Sergeant Abigall Tevisa lead an advance team of O.U.S.C. forces to engage the Vauzem, earning their chance as the battles broke loose after the bombardment of the spaceport.

Sic Transit Gloria:

As with any good event, the narrative starts and ends with you. Everything affecting the narrative up to this point is borne from what you as members of Odan-Urr have put back into the competition. From the artwork submitted, the fiction you've written, and the roleplays you've taken part of. All of it builds the compounding story of the Conflict on Quermia which serves as the center point of The Western Marches. The Chapter-by-Chapter Premise is easy enough to discuss and bring anyone not currently up to pace into, and it is established in a way to focus on some of our separate factions joining together in arms against a common foe, so please don't hesitate to ask Tisto, Jack, or I if you are unsure where or how to join into anything!

I want to reiterate, as I mentioned above, your actions, relating to how much effort Odan-Urr puts in as a whole will affect our inroads into the Conflict on Quermia. Various metrics will be gathered throughout the phases to determine how our various factions sprawl our and gain territory during the conflict.

These metrics include:

  • The number of Members Participating in competitions,
  • Aggregate number of Clusters (gaming),
  • Total words submitted (fiction and roleplay),
  • Average Completion times (puzzles)

Each Competition type will spread the influence of the relative faction as indicated:

  • Fiction to the North
  • Gaming to the West
  • Puzzles to the East
  • Art to the South
  • Roleplay/Uncategorized Clockwise around influence zone

Jedi for Jedha (Probowl and the Children of Mortis):

It's Pro Bowl time again, and it's been a while since Odan-Urr has been back to Jedha, the last time we were there we were fighting another Clan, no less. Now we're going back, cleaning house, and working together to get rid of what remains of the Children of Mortis. Guess everything's coming full circle! Time to bury the proverbial hatchet long enough to bury our mutual enemies. Week One just kicked off alongside the Event-Long competitions, I encourage all of you, Frog-Dogs and Ratworms (thanks Tisto, I can't call them anything else) alike to go and take part, rep your teams, and rid Jedha of the Children of Mortis remnants!

Scimitar of Lord Hoth:

Twenty-Nine. Twenty-nine of us this month have taken part in at least one activity. And what a month it has been. Our winner for the month of August is none other than Ryuu Suoh, with an impressive 677 points, narrowly edging out Jafits by a measly 37 points. As we close in to the end of the year I'm watching the numbers more and more intensely, waiting to see just who will take the Scimitar for next year. So far it's a tight competition.

Crossing the Frame:

I know I say it in every report, but, it has always been true. I'm proud of the direction we've taken as a Clan. With growing activity and something always available, my goal is to make sure you always have something to do, and that everything you do is represented in our ever-growing story. I feel that the current format for our Clan-Wide Event is a good starting point to make sure we capitalize on this mindset, however, there is always room for improvement. If you ever have comments, questions, or just want to talk about the current state of Odan-Urr and where you see it going, feel free to drop me a line in Discord or via email, I'm available most days and love the open discussion about where we're going!

For now, though, we focus on those of you, who have earned accolades in August!

  • Windos - The man, the myth, the legend, got himself another AK (for slicing)!
  • Benn Nevis - Out here getting all the shinies with another Sapphire Blade!
  • Celevon - Alright, I'm getting scared of just how many knives this man is collecting, but he's got another Sapphire Blade too!
  • Tekkio - Welcome to Odan-Urr!
  • Ra'en Thra'esh - Welcome to Odan-Urr!
  • Ric-Do Reez - Welcome to Odan-Urr!
