Odan-Urr Report #8: "Fabuless"

But maybe when you fall, you'll make peace with your gravity

But we all know it drives you mad

Quermia Influence 5

Rust, Dust, and Guts:

No fiction from the front this month, unfortunately. I’m working on a larger one, however, to make up for it in the middle of the phase, and make our push through the end of the Campaign. It’s been a hectic journey, and we’re nearing the finish line now Odanites.

Claim Your Weapon:

Odanites, you’ve done well for yourselves. The first phase of Season 1: Parabellum has passed and we’ve done well, with a 40% participation rate with 25 members (out of 60 at the time of competition) taking part. Further, House Sunrider took the bounty for this phase, with 53% of their House taking part in Parabellum Phase 1, including the entirety of their Battleteam the Templar Jensaarai. For their efforts, House Sunrider will be receiving 10 Million Credits from the phase bonus to spend towards the reconstruction of their demense on Daleem, and the Templar Jensaarai will get 5m to do whatever things a Force Cult does with money.

Brute Justice:

Speaking of prolonged encounters, we’re back at it with Phase 5 of the Western Marches. The opening of which is focused primarily on some simple art and gaming, with some coloring pages and our return to weekly cluster races. In the coming weeks I’ll be throwing down some new fiction competitions and a few more puzzles and art competitions to match the vibe. I do want to apologize for the late start to this phase. There’s been a myriad of issues I’ve been trying to catch up on, some issues I’ve had to fix, and some personal hobbies gone rampant. From fighting Kaiju in the Wilds, rampaging through Medieval Bohemia, strep, food poisoning, both of which have been rampaging through the household, and spending too many hours trying to debug the recently broken Scimitar of Lord Hoth spreadsheet (more on that in a bit) I have had a lot to take care of.

Here in Phase 5 we’re cracking down on the Droid contingents that have plagued the Eastern Front of the war and our roleplay will pick up as part three of the ongoing series Tisto has been running while I’ve been otherwise unavailable.

Hot on the Trail:

Odan-Urr’s Battleteams have been on the up-and-up, with the Templar Jensaarai giving their utmost during Phase 1 of Parabellum, while adjusting to their new Bunny Overlord. While we await Asani’s new direction and plans for the Templars, she has certainly proven that the team has a solid leader and given a great example to follow behind in future events.

On the other hand, the Knights of Allusis are coming into their own. As Syrena begins to flesh out the identity and locales behind the organization, unveil new operations bases, and launch the unit into new storylines alongside some vaunted figures of Odan-Urr’s history, such as Edgar and Jon Silvon, I’m looking forward to the shenanigans they’ll have to unveil for us in the coming days.

Scimitar of Lord Hoth:

February:

The Scimitar is currently offline. I will update once I get the spreadsheet fixed and properly re-organized. There was a shift in how some of the data calculations we use on the back-end of the sheets are presented, overall for the better, however, these changes utterly destroyed a section of how we collect the data for the Scimitar. I’ve been plugging away at how to properly integrate the data since the change, and will update you once I’ve come to a working solution, if I don’t have one by the end of the month, I’ll go medieval and tally both this month and next month’s by hand and deliver the results in April’s report.

Jack’s Report Here

Stackoverflow:

There's a mass of competitions ongoing and upcoming across the Brotherhood currently, so I'm just going to focus in on a few here. Looking at personal favorites, easy access, and forwarding Member-hosted Competitions. NOW WITH MORE JACK

  • All Bad Things… hosted by Vyr is an event for Sunrider’s members. It sure does get dangerous below the surface. Be sure to go out and get it done, Sunrider!
  • March Cluster Race Jack is at it again with yet another monthly race for everyone! Week 1 is almost over, but week 2 starts very soon! Don’t let Turel get all those crescents without a challenge!
  • Wait that ain’t right Ed’s got him a graphics comp aimed at poking fun at the movies of Star Wars. Go make an old man laugh and get graphite clusters!
  • Another typing game because Ed likes to make us suffer. Horrible, evil Edgar.
  • There’s also a sportsball whatsit I don’t know what this means, but Edgar said it was easy to do so go do it and get easy participation!
  • Jack’s Haiku Extravaganze HAIKU
  • Western Marches Phase 5 is underway and I am contractually obligated to tell you to go do these comps. Wolfe and Tisto have worked long and hard on this event (and they might let me out of the basement if you do well). It’s been a fun ride so far battling the Vauzem and their battle bots. Let’s go out and do it some more, my friends

Did you know there’s also a ton of other comps you could do for easy credit? How about a couple examples :)

  • MORE PUZZLES Another month, another set of puzzles from Xantros. Quick, easy, painless. Credits for you, credits for the clan, and maybe a couple extra shinies.
  • Unredeemable RAs over in CSP has been running a lot of interesting fiction comps lately. Go explore your characters a bit and see what pops out.

With the close of Cycle 1, we get a little bit of a break to recover until the next one. Let’s use that time to get ourselves pumped and ready for the next one so we can do even better.

News Corner!

My favorite part of these things is the part where we get to shout out all of the people who got new shinies recently. ALSO WITH MORE JACK

We had a lot of shinies and a lot of promotions this month. Let’s get cracking, shall we?

PROMOTIONS!

  • Vyrese Palestar made it to the rank of JM4 through sheer force of gaming.
  • Benn Nevis finished his galactic food truck debut and returned as an EQ4.
  • Sivall Zoria also made it to EQ4, earning much praise and adoration in the process.
  • Masahiro Haku, aka Wolfe, aka Wulfram, also managed to squeak his way across the plate with his EQ4 promotion.
  • Syrena Valkar danced and sang her way to EQ2 all while being an amazing young leader within the Clan.
  • Zahara, who many long thought deceased, was revived enough to make it to JM4
  • Neko made it across the line also by sheer volume of gaming to JM3

AWARDS:

  • Windows took home another Sapphire Blade
  • Jafits made away with his own Sapphire Blade
  • Siv got her a new stabby Sapphire Blade
  • Syrena got her first Sapphire Blade
  • Nero, aka Heiken, got two Amethyst Kukri because he likes money and stabbing
  • After rummaging around in our pockets, we found enough shiny stones for Edgar to get yet one more Ruby Scepter
  • For his service to the Clan and the Brotherhood as a whole, Wolfe managed to get himself a Ruby Scepter as well
  • And the last award on our list is this Ruby Scepter they managed to give me, Jack.

All of these awards and promotions have been well earned, my friends. It makes me proud to serve alongside each and every one of you every day. And I look forward to writing even more of these things in the future.

All-in-all, while there’s not too much to report from my side of the aisle, I want to once again thank all of you for putting up with me, helping the rest of the Summit, Jack, Vyr, Asani, and Kav keep the show running, and remind everyone that at the end of the day, we’re here for fun, and for one another. This community is made better by all of you, not just the design work we as the Summit throw together, but by your participation in the things we put together, showing that what we’re doing is well received and appreciated.

I’ll be back in a few weeks with my next report, and even sooner with some more competitions and perhaps a few more fictions and a jaunt in a new roleplay.
Ever onwards folks.

Beautiful report, you two! Jack, you forgot to include your promotion to ELDER! <3

Great report :D

I'm always curious to see how this map keeps developing and evolving, along with the breakdown of recent events. Thank you for listing out those competitions and helping to keep people in the loop here.
