So, december has been going well (aside from getting sick). In regards to activities, it was mostly focused on the Battle Team with their big bin of competitions (supplemented by a weekly puzzle set). We’ll try to keep sets of small quick to complete activities going every month. If you want to see some type of weekly or monthly competition outside of that, get in touch and we’ll set something up.
Looking ahead a bit, 2024 is going to be a fun and action filled year for Galeres. We’ll kick it off in January with a nice event to move our story forward. We’ll be going over our unit’s presence on DJBWiki and updating/improving where possible (we’ll be in touch on this in the future so if you’re eager to take part => don’t worry!). As I said, get ready to have fun in 2024! Your Aedile, Battleteam Leader and myself will be setting up some fun things.
I’ve been in charge of Galeres as your Quaestor for about 2 months now and it’s been a joy working with all of you. From the hyperactive newbies (you know who you are), across the reliably active core of the house to the more veteran members coming out of the woodwork to once again do stuff, it’s been a blast so far. Thanks for being awesome! And have some very happy holidays before we … crash … into 2024.
Happy Holidays Galeres!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are having an even better December. This time of year is busy, both in our lives outside of the club and the activities going on in the Brotherhood. Remember to take your time, take care of yourselves, and spend time with your family. There is a lot going on in the club right now so remember to prioritize! Do what you want to do. Any activity is activity and we’re happy for anything you contribute.
Quiet.
Things had been so quiet since the war had ended. Very little riffraff had tried to move in on Arconan territory while they were away from home, and while there was some pirate activity and underground shenanigans, it seemed that everything was winding down as the Galactic year came to a close.
Sanguine eyes drifted up from the report sent from the Battleteam leader of the Dajorran Marshalls, Wulfram, to look at the Neti slowly gathering his belongings.
“Calling it a day, Ood?”
“Yeah, I’ve had enough of this paperwork for now and I need fresh air.”
“Be safe getting to… your home? I’ll be here for a while still. Got a few loose ends to tie up, then I’ll be heading home myself.” She still had other reports to look over, a few things of paperwork to complete, a medical note to dictate and file, and so on and so on…
“Alright. Goodnight, Sivall.”
“Good night, treeguy.”
Ood let out a snort, if sentient trees could do such a thing, and began his shuffle towards the door. His Chiss Aedile let her eyes drift back down to the dataslate between her fingers to finish reading the report she was in the middle of inhaling. Things were going good in the Marshalls as the contingent of Galeres was making way with cleanup after the war.
Everything was so quiet.
Ruka had told her once that things were the most quiet before kist hit the fan.
An alert popped up on the right side of her screen and Sivall’s eyes narrowed for a brief moment as her tired brain tried to register the words she saw there. A yacht had made its way into Dajorran space, granted it did have the correct clearances and documentation. The S.S. Titan, carrying a couple hundred thousand passengers all bustling and enjoying the Life Day season. Still… a sneaking feeling whispered at the back of the Aedile’s mind.
Something wasn’t quite right.
“Odd…”
We have a bit of an event coming up in January. We know things have kind of been quiet since pre-war, and even before then. We’re hoping that this next chapter of the Galeres storyline helps foster some creativity and good ideas for our members in the coming months.
While things will be kind of quiet on our end in terms of competitions during the month of December, expect another fiction update and some more details about our upcoming House Event come early January.
In the meantime you can check out some of the stuff going on below:
If you have some spare time, here are some competitions we think might catch your interest.

We’re trying something a bit different here! I wanted recognition to span across everything that you do in the DB, because while I know some of you aren’t necessarily active competition or gaming wise, I know you’re out there making a difference. So here is our brand spanking new leaderboard! If you have any questions about how things are graded, please feel free to reach out to Sivall!
Just another note from your Aedile, I’m so very proud of you guys. You have been kicking butt with your activity even during the busy holiday, interacting in the house chat and other clans’ chats, and overall being awesome. From the Galeres Summit, have a wonderful Christmas and New Year, and we’ll see you in January!
