Super-Brief Report time!

The War is well under way, and there has been a flurry of activity: the members and clans working on submissions for the group events and for round two submissions, and the DC working on grading and getting results out for round one. Pravus has been working on the fictional update and we will be able to expect that shortly after he gets back home from overseas.

There has been a few incidences of gaming the rules. Valhavoc had posted up some information about that, and I have had this discussion on IRC the other day. The short and not-so-preachy version is basically this: play fair or don't play at all. If you feel so strongly about winning that you have to cheat, you must realize that you will be found out and you will lose more than you could have gained by cheating. It's a lose-lose scenario, especially as every instance of cheating makes not only you look bad, but your clan as well.

I'd like to think that nobody wants that.

Someone with a lot of time on their hands put this together, and it's pretty geektacular. The editing is pretty spot on, and the nerdery behind the idea of the Death Star nuking Krypton is just awesome. The first video is a fair bit better than the second one, IMO.

In similarly not-news category, apparently Tatiana Maslany, Rooney Mara and Felicity Jones have been screen testing for roles in the coming Star Wars spinoff film (the one due out December 2016 and directed by Gareth Edwards, who did the new Godzilla). Tatiana has done some work for the BBC, and Rooney is probably more well known for the protagonist in the American version of 'the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo'. Felicity Jones just got an Oscar nomination for The Theory of Everything. That's a heck of a lot of talent getting scoped out for a spinoff film, and that makes me feel a little bit better about the House of Mouse and their treatment of the Franchise. They seem to be taking it very seriously.

Ask the GM Time!

Donny asks "After the GJW is over we should see a respite from club wide vendettas, will we see an advance in the year or storyline after the events from time to time (such as an advancement form 38ABY going forward?)"

There are no GJWs or Vendettas planned for some time after GJW XI is over. I am aware that several clans will be running their own feuds, but nothing that will involve every unit. Fictional advancement will of course happen throughout the course of the War and as usual, we advance the DB Year ABY on Independence Day (which is in April for the Brotherhood.)
