Since Drac is off doing his Real Life training for the next few months we decided it’s a good time to bring back my reports to keep you up to date on new things about or current platforms, news, competitions and other useful things you might be interested in.
It’s good to see a new game and some new game modes were recently approved for your gaming pleasure. More details about them can be found in Drac’s news posts I have listed below, but just to refresh your memory Hearthstone was added to help fill the void left by the unexpected disappearance of Pazaak. As of now we still don’t know what happened and all attempts to contact the person running the server have gone unanswered. So for now it’s fair to say that’s it’s gone, but if any positive updates come in we will make sure to let you know.
Since becoming free to play near the end of 2017, Donny ran a successful push in favour of Starcraft 2’s PvE which did lead to it being added to the our approved list of game modes for the already approved Starcraft 2.
New for 2018 is the new monthly gaming challenge container competition. Instead of having separate containers for our Approved Platform, Mobile and Flash games we will now lump them together in one container for you to compete for. So keep an eye out for each month’s challenge for our Flash/Mobile and featured platforms for that month! Remember if you compete in all the challenges you will earn bonus points towards the final prize!
Finally the one of the most exciting thing we added in 2018 was the Brotherhood Gaming League (BGL for short) which is run by our newest Magistrate, Alaris Jinn (see the BGL update below). These tournaments should be interesting and incorporate many different DJB games throughout the year. So we hope you join in the fun!
As always make sure you read up on Drac’s latest reports - Fist 16 and all of his supplemental from my previous report till now:
Fist 16.1 - Adding Hearthstone and its basic rules.
Fist 16.2 - Drac goes to army training (in RL).
Fist 16.3 - Adding Starcraft 2 PvE and its rules.
Fist 16.4 - A BGL update from Drac about extensions.
Plus my BGL JA Annoucement; this is good to have handy since it has Blade’s server information in it.
Battlefront 2 - Has a list of updates coming soon which include a new progression system. With the recent news reports saying in game purchases are coming back, this will be a interesting story to follow.
Diablo 3 - Season 12 is ending on Feb 11, 2018 with Season 13 starting on Feb 23, 2018. A S13 should be coming as well, so look for a update after the new season starts.
Heroes of the Storm - I’m not going to list out all of the new heroes and updates since my last posting but if you haven’t played in a while they did add a few new cool heroes and some new skins you might like. Instead I’ll give you this news post of what is Coming Soon to Hots. Also if you’re taking part in the tournament you might want to check out these Tips from the Pros.
Overwatch - Like with HotS I’m not going to list out all the new features or heroes that were added since my last report but I will mention that Season 8 of Competitive play has started and that on Jan 22nd Blizzard added some new emotes, sprays and stuff to the game. Also

Greetings from the commissioner of the BGL, Aloger Jinndell, Alary Jinnman, Aladam Jinnver, Alob Jinnfred.
I’d like to start by thanking everyone who came out and competed in the Group Stage of Round One! This was a very successful dry run of this concept and was very eye opening for me in a lot of ways. The time and effort you all put in are remarkable and I want to thank each and every one of you for dedicating yourselves to making this a success.
The Group Stage is over and we have advanced to the Knock-Out Stage! As previously mentioned, Group Winners have received a first round bye. 2nd place from each group will play 3rd place from a different group. To randomize this as well as possible I used random.org. You can click anywhere on this sentence to see the standings from the Group Stage. To see the knockout bracket, you can click anywhere on this sentence.
May the Force be with you as you move forward into the Knock-Out Stage!
This brings us to the NEXT event of the Brotherhood Gaming League! I’m very happy to bring you the Group Stage of HEROES OF THE STORM!
This will be a 1v1 (8 AI) event with pre-selected Heroes. Each player can choose who they play as, but they must replace the preselected Hero of the same niche. For example, if you want to play as Jim Raynor, you would have to replace the Ranged Assassin Hero preselected, who is Hanzo. You may notice that every Blizzard property is represented in the preselected Hero list (other than the Lost Vikings, because ugh).
If you would like to sign-up for this event, click anywhere on this sentence.
Sign ups for HotS are DUE by the server reset on February 10, 2018
In the competition details, it says that you must play each other member of your group twice. I am changing that requirement from this point forward. You must play each other member of your group ONCE and only ONCE. This will negate the need for tie-breakers and will also be MUCH less daunting a task for our competitors.
I’ll see you in the Nexus!
