In Orbit Around Begeren
Admiral Cyvaria Ranin watched the Transdoshan closely, though her gaze was elsewhere. She did not trust the lizard on her ship, much less as a so-called ally of Plagueis, but the decision was not hers. She had survived this long by knowing her place. That place was one of power over many, yet submission to a select few.
The man directing Tress’kar’s, leader of the Saraask’ar slavers guild, attention along a holographic map of the planet they orbited was a member of that small group. Dark Side Adept Aabsdu Dupar, recently returned from unknown journeys. She had never heard of him before his appearance during the Ziost assault, yet now he was the Dread Lord, her commanding officer. Ranin had liked Dread Lord Montresor, respected him, trusted him. This man was an enigma at a time when cadets in the halls still whispered of the traitor who destroyed the Predominant.
Aabsdu was, however, a delegator. He trusted those under him to get the job done and allowed Ranin to lead the Ascendent Fleet as she knew best. Things worked well that way.
“My forces are making good time with our recent acquisitions from the Crusade,” spoke General Ranthe Benzayn. The Devaronion also stood next to the Dread Lord, pointing out various parts of the map to Dupar and the Transdoshan.
“Make sssssure to leave sssssome for the marketssssss,” Tress’kar responded. The lizard trusted them as little as she did him, but a smart slaver knew a good contract when he saw one and Clan Plagueis was in need of manpower.
“You’ve yet to deliver on our last payment,” Dupar spoke, his voice firm but pleasant, “My predecessor’s contracts remain standing.”
Tress’kar pulled back, his tongue flicking past his lips as he answered, “They will be fulfilled.”
“They will,” Aabsdu stepped back and motioned toward the door, “General Benzayn will notify you when your forces are able to drop down for fresh supplies.”
The Dread Lord turned to Ranin, “Admiral, I must confer with my Wings planet-side. Maintain our status up here.”
“Yes, my Lord,” she answered.
“Notify me should anyone decide to start attacking.”
Thank you everyone for the kind words of encouragement when Muz announced my position. This will be my third stint as Consul of Clan Plagueis. Hopefully that means I’ve been doing something right. Let’s get down to business on some of the things the Plagueis executive team have been working on.
First, I like fiction and will include a short report fiction every month. Skip 'em, read 'em, I like 'em. You'll notice I hyperlinked characters included - this is because I want people, especially Plagueis members, to read up on relevant characters, NPCs and members. Plagueis is going to start doing a lot of fictional development (see later tease of a house feud) and I want to use all of the NPC/fleet/ground forces/Anchorage greatness created so far and take it further. So read up, the Wiki is your friend!
Second, the ACC Tournament Phase Two of Fading Light is currently raging through Round Two! Clan Plagueis is showing AWESOME numbers. In this round we have 11 members battling across 10 matches (sorry Teylas and Callus for the friendly fire). We’ve had several great members return to the clan including Tra’an and Braecen, so the fire burns as strong as ever.
The tricky part is maintaining this activity past Fading Light into the "regular" months. Clan Plagueis has gone a bit quiet as we switched Consuls and prepared for this ACC tourney, but the next few months are going to be totally different. We have already started working on events and story for a house v house feud/clan vendetta that will run in June and July. This event is going to be awesome because we’ll be developing the clan fictionally and giving members the chance to participate in that process. Standby for some clan emails about this baby.
A few days from now, Clan Plagueis will also have a new Proconsul and Rollmaster, our last Battle Team Leader spot is about to be filled, and we’ll have a strong, united summit to guide us into greatness. Meanwhile, I want to send huge thanks to Arden, Teylas, Furios, and Callus as well as Brimstone, Ophelia, and Taranae for maintain the Anchorage while I spent a week in New York celebrating graduation.
Eleven combatants across ten battles. Fantastic. I want to take a moment to highlight a battle from Round One - Jac Cotelin v Taranae Rhode. Yep, our wonderfully awesome Dark Jedi Knight was pitted against one of the Brotherhood’s rare Grand Masters. The whole thing seemed like an auto-defeat, but Taranae fought hard and gave Jac a run for his money. In the end, a 4.45 score against Jac is nothing to be ashamed of. Both writers did a great job of explaining their difference in rank, the end result is a funny, well thought out fight that highlights the strengths of the ACC. I know that all of Plagueis’ representatives are giving it their all.
My original news post gave tomorrow, June 3rd, as the deadline so this is a final reminder. Clan Plagueis is currently seeking DJB-wide applications for our open Proconsul position. If you’re interested, you know the standard beats to hit on. My specific request is that you speak on how you perceive Clan Plagueis right now, especially if looking at us from other units. What are our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and more? Plagueis has a lot planned, least of which this big clan vendetta, so be prepared to have fun working hard for one of the best places you can be in the DB. If you wish to apply, try to email your application to me by tomorrow. If interested but unable to make tomorrow’s deadline, email me stating as much and I’ll wait a day or so.
We also lack a Rollmaster right now, since that use to be me. This position will come in-house, so to all of the Plagueians reading send applications to me soon. No deadlines here - when I find the right person I’m going to fill the spot. Plagueis’ Rollmaster supervises all members under DJK. We work in a system where BTLs serve as "masters" until the member hits PRT and gets a single master. The Rollmaster must manage the BTLs while also keeping up to date on master/student pairings. A vital position.
Since I became CON after my May Rollmaster report but before all of our June house reports, this is a bit lacking right now. Stay tuned! We’ve readjusted our report schedule to spread things out a bit more so there will be plenty of Plagueis news to keep people occupied! Want to know when everything is coming? Check the DJB Calendar!
