Plagueis vs. Taldryan: Raiders of the lost Ark

feud

Appius and I have been working together to bring you the first official Clan Feud involving Plagueis that has been held in quite some time. This event will see the two Clans pitted against one another in a good natured, totally not accord-breaching competition to retrieve the spoils of victory. This feud will run in two one week rounds from April 17th through April 30th.

The event format will be familiar to most who have participated in a Plagueis event at any point over the last few years, with an emphasis being placed on showing up to do the things. Placements will still be rewarded of course! As I said above, this is the first time we've had a Clan vs Clan competition involving Plaguies in years, so it's dependant on all of us to show up and show out to show those Republic goobers in Taldryan who really is the Ascendant Clan. (Also, the Republic is lead by a Mando? I call shenanigans!)

Scoring

The scoring for the overall event will be done as follows;

  • Each individual will earn five points per event they participate in. Participation is defined as a valid submission for an event. Simply signing up for an event or uploading an unqualified submission will not count. You have to put in the effort in order to receive the reward. Participation will earn 5 points.
  • In addition to participation points, the top three individuals in each competition will earn placement modifier points. First place will earn 4 points, second place will earn 3 points, and third place will earn 2 points, and all other entries will earn 1 point. Events themselves will have modifiers based on their perceived difficulty/level of effort required. For example: the modifier for fiction will be 3, the modifier for gaming/graphics/poetry will be 2, and no modifier will be added to puzzle/trivia/flash events. ** Grading formula: (Placement Score * Event Modifier) + Participation = Event Score
  • At the end of the competition, the individual scores for all two weeks will be added up, and the top three individuals will earn Novae for the overall competition with further placements being eligible for Crescents. Total scores for both Clans will determine the winner!

May the Fourth Be With You

There is, however, no rest for the wicked. Socorra has, by the Praetor powers combined, dropped a new May the Fourth competition series on us! The event will run throughout the month of May, coinciding with the opening of the Celebration Store, and offer a number of individual and team based competitions. And those teams, of course, will be small teams of four members created by you! Anyone can join or form a team, with a sign up form here. You can either sign up your entire pre-made team or submit your name to be assigned to a team for participation.

I'm really excited for this competition, forming little cadres of teams to go against one another. Don't hesitate to team up with your friends, in Plagueis or otherwise, for some summer fun! All the details can be found in Socorra's news post on the subject.

In Closing

With the Plagueis/Taldryan feud queued up and the May 4th competitions following close behind, there are untold opportunities before the Clan as 2023 really gets into gear. I hope that everyone will bring the same energy they did to Ascending Confederacy to these upcoming events so that we can close out the first half of the year on a high note!

Adapt, Ascend, Avail, everyone!
