Introduction

One might assume that the biggest news in the Brotherhood would be us all patiently awaiting the results of a Great Jedi War, but not this time! Bubba and Evant have cooked up some even bigger news that I hope everyone is getting up to speed on.

New GM, Who Dis?

As I hope everyone has seen by now via the various news outlets of the Brotherhood, we once again have a new Grand Master taking the reins. Dacien Victae, aka Bubba, ascended to the position of Grand Master via a unanimous vote of the Electorate as well as the Star Chamber. He's already executing his machinations, with his first Grand Master report already out where he teases some plans for the future and discusses some major changes to our character sheet system (that is already alive, Dacien works fast). I'd recommend everyone give it a look.

On a more personal level, I think Dacien is the best possible choice to take over as the guiding force for the Brotherhood to succeed Evant's productive tenure. I still remember Dacien coming back to what was still House Plagueis during the Dark Crusade and helping guide our unit through the tumult that followed as first Aedile and then as Proconsul. His work on the Dark Council has been exemplary since he took the job of Headmaster back in April of 2014, while his time as Justicar demonstrated why he is eminently qualified for the role of Grand Master. I've worked with him as both a member following his example of leadership and a colleague on the Dark Council, and I know he'll do great things for the Brotherhood going forward.

Great Jedi War Aftermath: The Ascendant and Allegiant

But, beyond the Grand Master succession, there is still a Great Jedi War we're awaiting the results of. However, here in Clan Plagueis we are not simply awaiting the scores, novae, XP, and credits given to us as a result of the Vendetta itself. Clan Plagueis will once again be awarding both of our Clan artifacts based on activities during the current Vendetta. Each awardee will be selected based on different criteria, taking home the title of Ascendant or Allegiant respectively. Additionally, both Qormus and myself will be ineligible for these awards as Consul and Proconsul respectively, as these awards are intended to recognize the membership instead of the Clan level leadership.

The Plagueis Ascendant will be awarded to the member that amasses the largest total number of points for the Clan. The holder of the Ascendant title will also be awarded the following artifact which will be theirs to keep until they are forced to defend their title in the next Brotherhood Vendetta:

• Mortis Crystal - A lightsaber crystal that can drain Force energy.

The Plagueis Allegiant is a bit of a different animal, however. It is not based on competitions entered, points earned, or any other activity metrics. The Allegiant title is instead a fellowship award that will be voted on by the members of the Clan and given to the member that best exemplifies the values and traditions of support that have always been a part of what Clan Plagueis has built itself upon. The members that are out there proof reading entries, helping other members connect with resources to complete their entries, etc. Every member of the Clan will be able to vote for two other members for this award, and the member that receives the largest number of votes will be awarded the honor of being named Allegiant and the following artifact:

• Rakatan Energy Transfer Device - A Rakatan device designed for capital punishment that can transfer life energy from one person to another.

A link to a voting form for the Plagueis Allegiant can be found in the Clan Plagueis War Chat, and voting will remain open until end of day on Friday October 20th.

Brotherhood Competitions

I did also want to bring everyone's attention to a few Brotherhood competition series that are running right now. These both provide some bite-sized (some might even go so far as to call them "snacky") prompts for both writing and graphics. These are being run by Atty and Socks respectively, so make sure you're taking advantage of this opportunity for even more XP and creds to add to your Great Jedi War haul!
