The Pro Bowl

Pro Bowls are wicked fun. I’ve participated in one and helped organize a second, and now I’m helping Captain the Frog-Dogs to victory! The whole thing kicks off Sunday/Monday at server reset with the usual First Pick Comp. I will be going head-to-head with Qormus (boo hiss) to determine who gets to pick first from Clan Plagueis! So, too, will every other Proconsul. I can’t wait to win (see: lose) to Qormus and nab that all important 1st overall pick!

Then, the event will be over three weeks with 24 competitions. Scoring is more based on participation, but don’t worry, everyone will get their shinies; especially in the new world where more Crescents are awarded, this means EVEN MORE SHINIES! Participation garners recognition and is the fundamental basis of our organization.

Every single event you enter will award you and your team five points. Placement will then be determined based on a modifier and placement points that are outlined in the Competition Details. Even for fiction, Participation is worth almost 1/3 of the maximum points for a single event, making every competition worth entering, even if you’re not the strongest in that discipline!

As they say in hockey, "Let's get that hockey!"

Another Moment With Alaris

This month in Alaris’s world is FOOTBALL. It’s back, as is fantasy football. So far, my favourite team is 0-1, my favourite player’s team is 1-0, and both of my fantasy football teams are 0-1. So, it’s been okay so far.

Fantasy is a completely different beast for me this year. My primary money league is a Keeper league but we did a full reset this year AND added an extra QB slot to the roster. Somehow, in some way, I ended up with the first overall pick and I had a decision to make. Christian McCaffery and get the best chance to win now or strategize for the future and take Patrick Mahomes. I’ll add that the only reason I was considering Mahomboy was because of the extra QB roster spot.

I went out on a limb and got the QB of the future. The rest of my roster filled out fairly nicely and I have a decent contingent of WRs, despite not drafting one until the 4th round. I’m hoping that I can get back to my winning ways. I won The League 3 consecutive years, but I’ve been bottoming out since 2019.

In my other league (non-keeper; half PPR), I didn’t touch the QB position until the 10th round, as usual and ended up with Ryan Tannehill, which is fine because the rest of my team is ridiculous. But not as ridiculous as the following trade, which happened in my Keeper League.
