Aedile’s Word and Dark Crusade: Fading Light

Well, the beginning of the end is happening. That’s right, it’s the start of the Dark Crusade Epilogue. This will be a runon of teams of 5-7. So far, we have 4 teams. I think we can do a little better than that! This is the form you need to access to sign yourself up, and we’ll send off the emails to Muz and Raken for you! Even if you’re on your lonesome, put down that you’re looking for a team, and we’ll match you up with others. Like online dating but less cool, I guess…

We’ve seen some stellar activity recently, in competitions and the Shadow Academy, I just want to thank you all for making me proud to be your Aedile, month after glorious month.

Say Hello to our Newest Battleteam: Apex Brigade

I am extremely excited for to see the start of our newest battleteam. The Apex Brigade will be led by Inarya Entar as Battleteam Leader and Adam Bolera as Battleteam Sergeant. The Apex Agents will be Vynn Salm, Kant Lavar, Marrek Gunstinson, and Vosh Kon.

Apex Brigade’s function inside of Arcona is to work in conjunction with the Dajorra Intelligence Agency to hunt down anyone or anything that poses a risk to Clan Arcona. Unlike the units of the past, which did their dealings very much in the dark, Apex Brigade has a strong physical presence in and around House Qel-Droma and the surrounding systems. The members of Apex Brigade, also known as Apex Agents, are extremely well trained individuals in close-quarter combat, investigation, and interrogation. Each Agent is paired with an IG-100 MagnaGuard. These droids were programed and commissioned originally with the intent of hunting down and killing Jedi. They wield lightsaber-resistant Electro Staves and their plating can withstand hits against blunted and bladed weapons. While the MagnaGuard and the Apex Agents themselves are specialized in force-sensitive combat they are more than qualified to eliminate any form of threat. Together they are known as Apex Squads. Due to the nature of the team being in pairing each droid with a sentient partner, Apex Brigade is limited to 8 Agents (including Battleteam Leader).

While their primary creation was to deal with the level of One Sith fanatics after the Dark Crusade, they have become the DIA’s blade, actively hunting down any and all threats.

I’d like to thank everyone who helped get this battleteam idea together and approved. Props go to Valtiere for the original idea with Wally and I helping craft it up. Thanks go to Inarya and Adam for getting behind the idea and getting the members interested in the team. This was exactly what Wally had asked of us and we delivered. Thanks to Legorii for offering the wisdom and guidance of the hairless buddha he is.

Quaestor’s Corner

This report I wanted to bring something up to all of you. “Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game” That’s an important quote, but it’s really the secret to success in competitions and this club. Especially in the Journeyman and lower-Equite ranks just showing up to participate is one of the most important things. Monty in Plagueis doesn’t say “Do Work, Son” for no reason. Howie in Taldryan doesn’t say “Do ALL the things” for no reason. We didn’t become ArcOWNa without our members showing up and helping. At the top of this text is a poorly designed graphic I made on my own in 15-20 minutes for a currently running competition. Is it amazing? No. Did it make you laugh, because it’s so bad? Yes. Will this become an award winning graphic? Yes. I am one of two participants in this competition and so simply showing up has earned me another placement, another crescent, and more prestige once again. This is not to say you shouldn’t work hard for your best submissions. This is not to say that the only way you can place is for 1 other person to compete. This is saying you cannot place if you do not participate. If you want more examples, just look at a majority of merit medals awarded in the last 3 months. Participation is key. Vendettas are always a bigger deal than normal competitions. So make sure you show up during this Dark Crusade Epilogue, during the upcoming Great Jedi War, and even any competitions you can find.

• Adam Bolera completed Leadership Studies and was elevated to SA Society Rank IV
• Vosh Kon completed Essentials 1-6, Vendetta 1-3, Dark Brotherhood Basics, DJBWiki: An Introduction, ACC Fundamentals, GMRG History, Sith Core and was awarded Dark Pundit of Essentials and Dark Pundit of Vendettas! He was also elevated to SA Society Rank I
