News

New MAA staff. Voice. Plagueis has a new Consul. The GM has released a report. The Tribune of Recruitment has released a report as well. Wally released his report too ARCr. Atty and Tim are awaiting Judgement in the ACC hall to see who gets to fight in the Semi finals! Make sure to show your support to them, no matter who wins.

House News

Apex Brigade's latest report is out, so see how Adam and his team of Jedi Hunters are getting on with everything, and, if you're thinking of joining a Battleteam, check their wiki. Arete report. Make sure to read them to keep abreast of their goings on.
As well as these reports, we have an event going on in Arcona. The Arconae, sick of the Quaestors, have decided to rise up and overthrow their leaders. The second week is up now, and we're marking the results ready to start the final week tomorrow. There's still an opportunity to sign up. There are a heap of competitions going on at the moment. . There’s also plenty of other comps thorughout the DB:

• The ACB pilot is live! Fill in the form to request a contract. It will be a rolling competition with a monthly winner, awarded the title of 'first blade'.

Another Moment with Alaris

Something I've learned after being in my third Clan: everything's the same. Every person in every unit is treated in exactly the same way. Sure, we all have our favourites and that goes even for those on the DC, but the notion that the higher-ups are biased against one more than another is ridiculous. Every unit feels like they're the ones who everyone hates and that everything is stacked against them. The opposite is true. This club survives only if there is healthy competition, so having that "something to prove" feeling is never a bad thing when it comes to activity. The problem is when we start to hate other Clans and Houses as a result.

If you hate a Clan because you think they're favoured, then you're hating that Clan for the wrong reasons. I hate the Chicago Blackhawks. Do I hate their individual players? No. They're a talented team and they work hard for the success they've achieved in recent years. As a Wings fan, though, I hate them through rivalry, because of the challenge they represent. Do the Wings win every time? Hardly. In fact, they've lost more often than not in recent years. So, it makes every win that much sweeter. But if that dislike and that rivalry didn't exist, it wouldn't make sports all that fun to watch, or play, for that matter.

We apply the same to the Brotherhood. As an Arconan, I want to win. I want us to beat Plagueis and Taldryan in the Great Jedi War. It adds a level of competition to our... competitions. We are not one more favoured than another. There are not massive injustices being perpetrated against us. This is a volunteer club. We do this for fun.

It took me a while to remember that. Let's keep doing that, though. Having fun.

Also, F*ck the Blackhawks.

Closing words

There's been a lot going on recently in the Brotherhood, and there's plenty more to come. Alaris is very right. This is a club for us to have fun. We're not persecuted by the council, no matter what you may think. Keep pushing to have fun. We make our own paths here. You get out what you put into this club, nothing else.

And yes. F**k the Blackhawks (Go Canucks).
