Greetings everyone and welcome to the August edition of the Satele Shan Quaestor’s report. Well, I stand thoroughly corrected from my introduction last month. Summer has indeed heated up! The biggest driver of this is the Clan Odan-Urr event, Tipping Point. A large part of this report will geared towards spotlighting this critical event and the importance of participating in it.

Tipping Point

A major Clan Odan-Urr event you say? Why yes indeed. We have not had a Clan Odan-Urr specific event in some time. We have had a friendly event with Arcona, and many Satele Shan and Tython Squadron specific events. But none at the Clan Odan-Urr level since prior to the Great Jedi War. Taken another way, this is nearly a year since we have participated for bragging rights amongst the Clan’s Houses and our various members.

Tipping Point is a truly great event. First, the storyline is enthralling and builds upon the lore of the past several years – taken from the tactical level of how things have transpired within our own Houses. Many of you will get the inside story on this fiction from your participation in our various events.

So, why participate? Many reasons. First, Satele Shan is a top flight unit – we thrive on adversity and struggle. This is our time to shine. While not a competition against House Hoth our pride is on the line. I expect us to show up and represent ourselves well. Secondly, awards, promotions, credits – the rewards are endless. Finally, participate to support your comrades in the House as participation counts for much in this event per the way bucket points are awarded.

The best part is most of these events take only a modest amount of time. Others can be as engaging as you want them to be. There are gaming, fiction, flash, puzzles and comics. Truly every type of competition you could want is here for the taking. House Satele Shan Summit will be spotlighting these competitions in the days leading up to the end of the event via Telegram and email so expect a hype parade to get the word out on where we stand.

Awards

It is important to spotlight the achievements and successes of others within the House in order to calibrate us and give an indication of a way forward and something to strive for in our own careers within the club.

With that being said, let us all congratulate our own Vanguard Maximus Alvinius. Our beloved Max has earned a highly coveted and well justified Amethyst Kukri. It is easy to forget the sheer scope of the work Max does. Firstly, as our very own Questor for a solid tenure. Then, as the Magistrate to the Herald. Perhaps most impressively, as starting up the Social Media Tribune position. There are so many aspect of the organization Max has a direct hand in it is an inspiration to me for one. Max is the person who brought me back into the fold and convinced me to step back up into a leadership role. So thank you Max, and well done.

Likewise, I was awarded a Sapphire Blade. The reason I am mentioning this, is because without the help of each and all of you this would not have been possible. It has been with your help, your support, and your trust that this has been possible. It can be said that for every success there is a team behind it and truer words cannot be applied here. This is also a good indication that Sacramental Awards are possible and within reach for anyone. A few solid months perhaps, and selfless effort and these can be achieved.

Closing

This report has come out a bit late, but that was a self-imposed issue on my end as the last report came out a bit early, so trying to realign the timeframe of these reports. The main takeaway from this report, at least in my mind, is opportunity. We witnessed Max and I received Sacramental Awards over the past month which are major milestones in a member’s career. We are all also faced with the opportunity to partake in the Tipping Point event. Do not let this opportunity pass you by. Let Satele Shan lead from the front. I expect us to take top placement. Our track record is good, and my money is on you all. Let us have fun, and help your comrades by participating.
