One of the hardest things to do as a leader in this club is to find your voice. This is especially important for the leader of a Clan or a House, because they often set the direction and tone for their unit. And for the past couple of months, I was content with the direction that both Alara Deathbane and Shadow Nighthunter were directing us. That is not to say I was inactive, but I focused a lot of my energy and time in other projects/avenues to help the House or individual members. I used the rest of the time to recuperate, center myself, and prioritize what I felt were the most fundamental elements of our House going forward. My goal is to share that vision with you today.
My aim, going forward, is to report Weekly opposed to Monthly. The reports will not be as comprehensive and may feel ‘canned’ due to the repetitive format; however, I will adjust information and format to best fit our group. I want to share relevant information, but I do not want to repeat other leaders. The point of This Week In Excidium is to outline pertinent dates & times while also sharing information relevant to House Excidium’s members.

This week’s focus article is the Caperion System.
A vitally important page that details the structure of our new system. While the destruction of the Cocytus System - our previous star system - came as a surprise, the new system offers endless possibilities for the growth of our clan’s story. Additionally, a new system with new planets and moons gives everyone a chance to explore and map out the system. Take a moment to learn the names of the new planets and their order in the system.

If you, like many others, feel that there is no rhyme or reason to why others are being promoted, this page can give you valuable insight. It details all of the time-in-grade details, specific requirements for each Novitiate & Journeyman rank, and even discusses the oft misunderstood CON-level leadership or equivalent leadership requirements for upper-tier Equite ranks. All of this is very important information that should help you understand where you are at and what you should be striving for in the future.

As I continue to rewrite the House Wiki Page, I will share tidbits with you here. I always want to be transparent to the changes happening in the House. This will allow me share what is in my mind (and heart) with you and solicit your feedback. Have Control - The basis for all things in House Excidium is to have fun! Our members are encouraged to participate and develop to the level that is fun. While some members may push themselves too hard, they are always encouraged to step back, re-center themselves and find the ‘fun’ that makes both the club and the House a magical place. You are always in control of your involvement, your story, and the progression of your House.
Belong - House Excidium feeds off of competition and the back-and-forth associated with friendly rivalries. This means regular reports and constant e-mail updates. Sometimes the communication goes off on a wild tangent, but the House is always pointed towards a similar goal and shares in great camaraderie due to their frequent conversations.
Reach Your Potential -The House holds a strong belief that we are not looking to make carbon copies of one or two individuals, but help each individual discover the best version of themselves. By focusing on what makes the members happy, or gives them energy, the House has found unprecedented levels of success in participation and advancement. The truest calling for any member of Excidium is to be themselves and receive any and all assistance in that pursuit.
Thank you for joining me on the new adventure. My hope is that the modular format of this weekly report will allow me to further your interest in the lore of our club, broaden your understanding of our club policies, and direct you towards vital information. I hope that you join me in our first several social outings and I hope to see more individuals step forward to host their own events: Cards Against Humanity, Board Game Night, Murder Mystery Theater… who knows what fun awaits?
