Staff Changes

First off, I want to discuss some new staff changes. For the last two weeks I've been accepting applications for Magistrate to the Regent. Thanks again to Koda Kendis for his service to the Brotherhood as a whole as part of the Regent Staff. Unfortunate real life circumstances prevented him from getting to do all the things he wanted, but it was great to have him around.

After talking with our illustrious Grand Master Bubba and based on what my current staffers expect to do/how long they intend to be part of the staff and what their goals are, I'm making the following changes to the Regent Staff in the wake of Koda's departure.

• Thran and Halcyon's positions remain unchanged. Thran is my heir apparent; he's involved in every discussion, the man is a workhorse, and he's said he's gonna wait impatiently for the day I decide to end up in a ditch retire. Until then, I'll keep grooming him to succeed me. Halcyon is Halc; while he'll ultimately support me in bringing my vision to life, he's on the staff to check against dumb. As my predecessor as the first Praetor to the Regent he continues to bring fresh perspective to the staff.
• Korvis Manda'Vod's position is now a permanent one. Korvis has been a very active member of the staff thus far, producing lots of quality content and participating in our in-depth discussions on a wide variety of possessions related projects and topics.
• I am hiring both Teebu and TuQ'uan as Magistrate to help quicken the pace on development and deployment of the crafting system, the loadout changes, and a couple future unannounced projects. Their spots on the Regent Staff are not permanent (yet). Once we get closer to the end of deployment on the crafting system and we don't need as many hands, I'll be selecting one of them as a permanent staffer.
• Always in the market for something to do and to help out wherever possible, Bubba's Praetor Socorra will be lending a hand where she's comfortable. Socorra has been instrumental in helping bring society possessions for the Envoy Corps and Antei Combat Centre to life with her art, and she's currently doing the same for the new Grand Master's Royal Guard revamp. She'll be instrumental in helping with the loadout revamp (once crafting is much, MUCH futher along) to make sure James doesn't want to kill us. Once she knows our development side a little better, she's free to lend a hand where she wants.

The Regent Staff will no longer be rotating Magistrates on a consistent basis going forward. Atra (Renatus) has already laid out his plans for a rotating Magistrate that will be able to contribute to whichever office they'd like if that office needs an extra hand, and rotating Magistrates has been more miss than hit for the Regent Staff since even I was a Magistrate several years ago. With a system that has such a steep learning curve and so many moving parts/specific processes, I just do not believe it is feasible at this time to continue rotating Magistrates. I will hire Magistrates as needed.

Some of you may remember the inaugural DB Life Day Celebration event from last November. Well... itshappening.GIF! The Regent Staff (and Socorra) will be running this event again this year, from November 17th until December 10th. There will be a bunch of quick, easy competitions throughout both halves (12 days) of the series, each giving points towards the main container competition. The members that take first, second, and third place in the series will each be granted a unique item by the Regent Staff. Last year the theme was Wookiees (as the creators of Life Day) and saw Eleceos walk away with an experimental bowcaster, Koda got a ceremonial ryyk blade, and Shimrah ended up with a scoundrel's bandolier.

This year the theme is the Jedi Order and light side of the Force. The items will be granted and revealed in a news post following grading of the entire series.
