Life Day Celebration

For this year’s annual Life Day Celebration Series (Life Day Celebration II), we had a total of 59 unique participants across all of the competitions, with multiple members doing all or most of them. A big thank you to everyone who participated, and we hope you enjoy the types of competitions you saw during the event.

In the end, there can only be three members that take home whatever bragging rights they wanted and a one-off Legendary-rarity possession that no other member has. Those members are:

These items have already been granted to Malfearak, Eleceos, and Nora. In addition, based on winning entries to the Life Day Celebration Store Item and Life Day What If? Item competitions, we’ve added several new item prototypes to the system to buy. Some of these entries were really great and innovative, and fit well with the Star Wars universe. You can find them under the Life Day Celebration II and Member Created Items releases:

Crafting Update

James has been hard at work (thanks man) implementing the site infrastructure for the Crafting System. Most of the member-facing stuff has been completed (for those of you who noticed the new Crafting tab in the Item Research Page or your Possessions/Loadouts/Snapshots admin page. The Crafting Recipes themselves will show a name, what items are required (via icons), the craftable item (via an icon), and a details button that will give you a more linear view. Items you have the prerequisite crafting materials for will display a green check mark and message on the main recipe list page.

All crafted items will come in at Masterwork-rarity, and (aside from the two Trial of Acquisition items, lightsabers, and eventually Brotherhood Robe items, which are still tied to Herald dossier requirements) will have every tier of upgrade for that item type from Uncommon to Legendary (denoted by tier I-IV) will be purchasable/equippable. This also goes for craftable Member Corvettes, despite the fact there are three “levels”/”rarity”/”condition” of Corvettes you can obtain: Salvaged, Refurbished, Military. We’re shaking up the way upgrades work with Member Corvettes, and will be looking at a feedback survey regarding the new upgrade scheme/how they work.

Member craftable Lightsabers (and their crafting materials) as well as Member Corvettes (and their crafting materials/upgrades) are already in the system (just hidden!). Once James has finished coding and the new I Said No Power Tools! Trophy has been implemented, we will launch these items to the wider membership (with the aforementioned survey). In the meantime the staff has started work on the next phase of items as we work our way up the carbon nanofiber crafting material cost list, Armor / Droids **. Following implementation of that, we’ll switch to **Weapons, and then Space Vehicles/Land Vehicles. Creatures are not something we’re exploring with crafting at this time (but boy, the possibilities are there!)
