Regent Report: Unfortunate Circumstances

My next news post was supposed to be a staff announcement about the resignation of Halcyon and Tu'Q, the announcement that Korvis would be moving to Special Magistrate (a position he undoubtedly deserves as basically a second Praetor), and the opening of applications for some additional Magistrate positions. Instead, I'm writing to you guys today to inform you that this will be the last report of my (possibly current? ;) ) term as Regent of the Brotherhood. It has been absolutely amazing serving you all in this position and managing one of the club's most valuable systems for these last 3+ years. I know I've accomplished so much, but I can't help but feel sad about the things I didn't accomplish and still want to. I don't want to resign from this position and had intended to continue to be the main squeeze bringing you content for at least a few more years, but real life circumstances have made it nigh impossible for me to focus on the colossal workload this position brings and I refuse to sit idly in a position or allow my staffers to do more work than me. That's just not who I am.
I have given my recommendation for my successor. Bubba and Atra will open applications for the position of Regent whenever they are ready. I will remain on as Regent until a replacement is selected for continuity/any electorate things that might pop up and should the next Regent allow, I'll stick around in some capacity to continue working on my dreams and goals for possessions if they line up with theirs. :) It has been an absolute honor serving The Council and The Brotherhood as a whole. A massive thank you to Evant, Bubba, and Atra for their immense patience with me, and more recently the real life issues that have culminated in this resignation. I'm so very pumped to see the crafting system finished, and I want to be there when it is. This is not me leaving the Brotherhood or leaving my friends behind, but taking a step back while I sort through the new reality that is my life.
Being Regent of the Brotherhood has been the most fulfilling role I've had in this club, and I love the job. It kills me to let it go, and scares me to think about it in someone else's hands. It is absolutely amazing. Serving all of you, and the excitement you bring to the possessions system, was absolutely amazing.

Thanks for giving me a shot on Regent staff during one of my dark periods, thanks for offering nothing but encouragement (and keeping me from panicking during my first vendetta) as I found my footing as Fist, thanks for being an enthusiastic co-conspirator on all my crazy GMRG ideas and mostly thank you for your tireless service to the Brotherhood adding not just content but expanding what possessions is capable of. I know you'll return when you can and continue to make our community a better place.
Noobi, it was a pleasure working with you. The Brotherhood has lost a foundational pillar today, and that's probably an understatement.
Thank you for everything Anubis. I have had a great time both learning from you and working with you. It has been an privilege and a hell of a lot of fun. No one I know worked harder than you did and I think the mark you have left on the Regent office will never be duplicated.
